New Management - New Attitude - Two Thumbs Up! – Not sure what happened with the previous reviewers, but my experience has been nothing short of great. While they offer one of the best values in town, the service has been what you would expect for a much higher priced facility.
The staff is friendly and helpful without being pushy. The beds and other areas are always clean and free of any annoying odor. An best of all, there is hardly ever a wait more than a few minutes.
Cheapest clean place around – If you are looking for a cheap place that gets the job done and is clean- THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. They won't try to sell you stuff everytime you come in and they do not break contract for those who do automatic debit. The girl below obviously did not read what she signed. I did not have any problem with automatic debit becasue I followed the contract and asked them the right questions to determine the best day to sign up. Regardless, the price is unbeatable for clean beds. I just moved and I am sad that I cannot continue my membership with Electric Beach.
A good value – Staff is well informed and friendly. Salon is well run & kept clean. Also, the prices are very reasonable and I always get good color from their beds - definitely the best value I've found in the area.
Beware of the Automatic Debit!! – When I first signed up, I was worried about having them take the money out of my account automatically. I was right. I only tanned for about 2 months last summer, and called to cancel. I thought everything was fine.
Today, I went to reactivate my account to start tanning, and they told me I had a balance of $66. Apparently, my account was never actually cancelled and they kept trying to charge the old card. After it wouldn't go through twice, they cancelled it (not when I asked them to, but when $66 in charges was racked up). They wanted me to pay for the two months during which they couldn't get the money out of my account, even though I was never there, before I could tan there again! They flat out refused to do anything at all to retain my business, and let me walk out.
They basically called me a liar, and acted like I was trying to get something for free. How could I get something for free if I wasn't even tanning there!
And why would you set up a business where people have to pay for another 30 days after they stop tanning?
Be careful, they're out to rip you off!
Poor Customer Service – Unfortunately, this establishment has no actual written membership policies, and if you sign up on the 25th of the month, you lose a lot of money with the way they have it set up. They will balk at trying to refund you any money, even if you give them the required 30 day written notice. The staff is poorly trained, and frequently, you have to wait a decent time for a bed. I would recommend not tanning here as it is poorly staffed and is not aimed at helping out the customer at all. If you do decide to go, sign up on the 26th of a month in order for the $39 registration fee to apply also to a month of tanning. If you sign up immediately before or right on the 25th of the month, you'll pay $39 registration, and will have to pay again for the next month. The also have you pay at the end of the month of tanning rather paying up front for a month of tanning which is unintuitive. Boo!
