How depressing..... Back in the day this was a great place to shop. Well stocked shelves. Great cheese selection, great spice selection, produce section was out of this world, Whenever I read one of my "ethnic" ccokbooks and got it into my head to try out a recipie, just about everything I wanted was here. As much as I love Dekalb Farmers Market, it's a bit of a haul- International Farmers Market is much closer. I went by today and my goodness, what a depressing trip. The empty parking lot should have been a clue, but I soldiered on thinking that the store was slow because of the 4th of July holiday. I think I was wrong--no fish, no meat, no frozen foods and there was barely any fresh produce.

What in the world has happened to this place? I just don't buy that Wal Mart is taking all of their business. Does Wal Mart carry brocollini, Thai basil or soursop? To make matter worse, the debit/credit card system was not working. Me thinks the days of the International Farmers Market are numbered.

Sad experience. After driving out to the Dekalb Farmers market on a Saturday not too long ago, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Fresh produce, any kind of meat you wanted at a great price, unlimited supply of EVERYTHING. I was hoping to find this same experience at the International Farmers Market, right down the street from me...boy was I dissapointed.

I went on a Saturday morning hoping to get stuff to cook out for a party that night. It looked as if I had walked into a grocery store after Hurrican Katrina NOTHING on the shelves, old produce, maybe 12 people in the whole place, it reaked of fish and when I asked where all the meat was, someone said, "I think the meat is sold on Mondays." What? Just a weird experience. I ended up leaving the few items I had picked up in my shopping cart and just walked out. This place has huge potential, but a collosal mess and a huge waste of time.
