Worst experiance ever – I just went there the night before valentines day. They were able to keep the reservation time and get us seated. But the food was awful. The chicken was mostly fat, and tasted like it was grilled Mcdonalds chicken. They try and lie to you saying its there special sauce for steak, but its basically hinz 57. Also they dont have the traditional White sauce that most japanese restaurants have. Lastly even there vegetables were bad, and they obviously get them in bulk, because they cook each vegetables individually. The seating is abnormally cramped for most japanese restaurants. 10 minutes after they took our meal order, they finally asked if we would like anything to drink. I well never go back to kobe steak house, ever. They are obviously trying to save money by sacrificing service and food quality.

EVERYTHING IS GREAT, EXCEPT FOR... – Food and service are great, even cocktails are just right every time. We used to go to this place every year for birthday parties. But one thing... There are a couple of cooks who make sexual jokes. They actually spank the meat and says "who's daddy?"!!! We were forced to laugh to avoid the embarassment because we went there with a whole family. There were even grand parents and babies there!! I think this is a very inappropriate joke to make and it made us very uncomfortable. I miss their food, but The family don't want to go back there.

perfect for a special occasion – Our family has been eating at Kobe steaks for many years. The delicious food, huge portions, and entertaining presentation make it our children's choice for their special night out year after year. Most of the chefs are very personable and extremely talented, performing little tricks-of-the-trade as they prepare your meal. The fried rice at Kobe is the best we've ever had! And for a nominal fee, they'll take a photo of the birthday person or party, and have it transferred to a small cake at dessert time. Lots of fun, and LOTS of food!

THE best Japanese Steakhouse in Atlanta!! – this has been my favorite restaurant for over 20 years-the best teriyaki steak I have ever had!

The grilled veggies and shrimp are delicious and be sure to get fried rice!! The show is incredible and the

atmosphere is welcoming if you are casual or dressed up. A great place for large parties or an intimate dinner for 2.

Get the salmon!!! – Kobe can be hard to find -- it's location in the plaza is not that great. We originally took the trip out there to go to Joli Kobe, but they've changed their menu to a lunch-only offering. Thus, we walked around the plaza and decided to eat at Kobe Steaks instead. It's pretty similar to Benihana, but if I recall correctly, it's a little less pricey. I thought the food and service were well worth what we paid. Hubby ordered the salmon and scallops dinner; I ordered the filet mignon dinner. Mine was mediocre, but my husband's salmon was excellent. Wasn't seasoned too heavily, was swimming in lemon butter (I'm not a dieter, so I could care less), but that man cooked a decent piece of salmon so properly.......all kudos go to him. Hubby said the scallops were underseasoned, and I agree, but next trip I'd ask the chef to cook the scallops in lemon butter, too. The rest of the meal was good, no complaints. I'd say the restaurant decor is outdated, especially around the entrance and bar areas, and the bathrooms don't look great at all, but that's not exactly why I go out to eat anyway.

Still Great food and service through all the years!! – Everytime I go to eat at Kobi Steaks, it amazes me that I always get great food and service everytime I visit.

The staff is always welcoming and very enjoyable to be around and the food is always very good, plus the menu has a wide variety to choose from. Very resonable in price also.

The Original is STILL the Best. – Kobe Steak house is one of the oldest Japanese Steak Houses in ATL. It is still one of the BEST. The dark atmosphere and the pit seats are so much fun the Meal and the entertainment is tough to beat. There have been so many NEW Japanese Steak houses opened in the past few years the entire market has been flooded. Go to Kobe.... It is still the best!

Friendly, fun Japanese steakhouse creates a performance while preparing your dinner. – The Scene
Small rooms separated by decorative screens offer group seating and a friendly atmosphere in which you can get to know your neighbor and possibly even trade dishes. Prepare to doff your shoes if you're sitting in one of the traditional spaces with low, recessed tables. Standard western table seating is also available, though much less in the spirit of things.

The Food
The beef here isn't the extremely expensive, extraordinary Kobe beef, as the restaurant's name suggests, but American. Despite the misnomer, the steak is especially good, and seafood is fresh and properly cooked. Main dishes offer familiar combinations of steak and chicken, steak and seafood, and so on. Each meal begins with the standard (but very good) clear broth soup and small salads with a choice of western dressings. The wine list is a paltry business, and not even good sakes are offered. Better to snag a cold beer or a cup of green tea. For dessert, chocolate mousse is totally un-Japanese, but still rich and yummy.

Don't waste your time with reservations – After my last visit to Kobe, I will not be returning. I made reservations at 7:15 and didn't get seated until 8:30. The manager could have seem to care less and said nobody was getting seated on time. I think the only reason we got seated then was because so many people in front of me got angry and left. The food was your usual Japanese steak house, however definately not worth the wait.
