I left this practice many years ago and for some of the same reasons others have noted.
I was also given a prescription that I had an adverse reaction to. Dr. Arkin spoke to me in a hurried manner and told me to cut the pill in half. I told her the paper work accompanying the medication specifically states NEVER to cut this pill in half for any reason. She said, "Oh, I'll have to call you back." Several hours later, she called in a new prescription. It was disconcerting to have to tell the doctor what she should have known.
Now that Dr. Peacock has left the practice, I have a friend looking for a more caring practice.
Something really does have to be done about the office and nursing staff. Very unfortunate.
As a young female that has experienced a lot of trouble with doctors' offices, I have never felt more welcome and safe at any other doctor's office. I am typically very distrusting and skeptical of doctors, but Dr. Aqua and staff were kind, courteous, professional and helpful.
Because the staff is all women, my nervousness was lessened and I felt better instantly about being there. The reason that I was recommended to them was a scary one to me.
I was very nervous in the waiting room, and the intake nurse noticed when she was taking my preliminary information at the desk. She stopped typing on the computer to make eye contact with me and welcomed me to the practice.
The nurse who took my medical history was not dismissive or distracted when I answered any questions that she asked. She was friendly and open, and made me feel even more better about being there. As I left the room, she told me it was nice to meet me.
I didn't wait too long in the exam room. Dr. Aqua informed me about my condition enough that I was unafraid to undergo the necessary scans and biopsies.
The nurse that assists Dr. Aqua was also very kind and conscientious of my nervousness.
The nurse at check out was very kind and also took time out of her day to look me in the eye to welcome me to the practice.
I highly recommend Premier Care for Women Atlanta. They are efficient, helpful, competent, professional, courteous, kind, welcoming and gentle.
I also love this practice! Dr. Becker is fantastic. If you are searching for a knowledable GYNO, clean offices in a easy in-out office building , Premier Care for Women is for you. I've been a patient of Dr. Becker's for over 5 years and do not plan on making any changes!
I love this practice! They always make me feel very comfortable during my appointments, and have gone above and beyond to accommodate me despite a busy travel schedule. I can almost always talk to someone when I call, and if not they always call back quickly and ready to help. Dr. Cummings is a great doctor, and I highly recommend her and her practice to everyone! :)
I'm a health care professional myself and have been going to Premier Care for Women for a few years. I've always thought their office policies were unnecessarily punitive, but the care was adequate until my last visit. I saw Dr. Cummings who never even examined me to determine the nature or extent of my problem, although she did discuss it with me extensively (I guess she just took my word for it). Then my prescription wasn't eprescribed, then the wrong prescription was eprescribed, and then I was told by Sandra it was my fault for not checking with my pharmacy first (which I had)! I also hate the cash only parking and the terribly crowded deck.
When I left from my last visit I was given a sheet of paper asking me to leave a good review online because they had been receiving too many negative reviews. Talk about things that make you go hmmm....
Finally, I decided to change to a different group for my gynecologic care. I was shocked at the price I was quoted to transfer my records to my new doctor. I have extensive practice management experience, and in all those years we have never charged for medical records for a transfer of care. It's legal to do so, but generally frowned upon. But then again, based on their other office policies, what did I expect?
I've been a patient of Dr. Reddy's for 4 years now and couldn't be more pleased with her or the practice. She is gentle and takes her time with exams and always makes sure to answer any questions that I have. The staff is always pleasant and attentive. I highly recommend them!
I have been a patient of Dr. Becker's for just over a year now. As a doctor, she is very friendly and knowledgeable, and I have zero complaints whatsoever.
For the office, it is very clean. I am always seen within 20 minutes of my appointment and have always been out and on my way back to work within an hour. This is much better than any other doctor's office I've been to recently! The staff has always been courteous, and it's been pretty easy to make appointments. I remember calling for a new patient appointment last year, expecting to have to wait a few weeks, but they were able to see me only 3 days later.
Very friendly, upscale, warm and professional. On my first visit, I felt like I had known these ladies for a long time. They even went the extra mile for me when I had to have blood drawn and I told them that I don't like needles. They had the lab worker come to my room so I didn't have to go to her.
The Best OB/GYN in Atlanta – I went to Premier Care for Women for the first time this morning to have my annual exam and everything went great! Dr. Cummings is the nicest gynecologist I have ever met. She was very patient and she has that bedside manner that most doctors are missing today. Most doctors only care about the $$$$-not Dr. Cummings, she will listen to you if you have any concerns or questions. The front office staff and the medical assistants are great too-very friendly and they have the southern hospitality that I love. If anymore is looking for a good OB/GYN-Dr. Cummings at Premier Care for Women is the place to go!
Terrible, rude, unprofessional – Went there for about 2 months and saw Dr. Cummings and Dr. Reddy. I had my IUD and got pregnant right away, and then got very sick (UTI + strep + a virus that might've been the flu) on a weekend. They called me in Macrobid (for the UTI) and Tamiflu (in case I had H1N1). 6 doses of Macrobid later, I was still really sick (my urine was, no kidding, the color of iced tea) and I was having symptoms of a miscarriage. They got me in, said they'd culture my urine and call me in the right rx after that came back, and do two blood tests (48 hours apart) to see about the miscarriage. Fine. I asked the lab tech when I could expect my results and she said .... 7-10 days. I said, didn't she put a rush on this??? Nope. So I called the office and left a message for the triage nurse asking if they really planned to leave me with an untreated UTI for over a week.
2 days later, I had still not gotten a response, so I called to see if my results were in. I got HUUUUUUGE attitude from the nurse, who told me there was nothing they could do to speed the process up and to not call back because they would call me when they knew something. I asked her if the 7-10 day thing was true and she said it was. Never asked me if I was still having urinary issues or if I was bleeding or anything. So I went to my PCP, because at that point it was obvious that I'd miscarried (all my pregnancy tests were negative and I was bleeding heavily), and she prescribed me something new for the UTI.
TWELVE DAYS after that visit, they called and told me that I'd had a miscarriage. Now, I don't expect my medical staff to be my emotional support, but I do expect at least some kindness and consideration. The nurse might've been telling me that I had an ear infection. I realize it was her hundredth miscarriage, but it was my first. Then I asked about my urine culture, and I heard a lot of paper shuffling, followed by, "... it isn't in yet. We'll call you when it is."
Keep in mind ... this is TWELVE DAYS after I was in their office, and they have no idea I was treated by my PCP. So for all they know, I've had a raging UTI for almost 2 weeks. They never did call me about that culture, or to check on me. I'm pretty sure they just forgot to order the culture and decided not to follow up.
