curious – I thought the men on the truck was not getting my trash for two weeks. Then I realized that my 14 year old son was not getting the trash can out until after 1pm. The office staff kept working with me until we figured out the problem. They were so understanding.
It's the new representative that made things better. – Well, I just moved into my home. My mom lives around the corner, so I asked her who picked up her trash. She told me that ABC Waste was her trash company and that she had a friend who worked there that would get me started. Well I got to the place and let me start by saying that this office it the most unprofessional office I have ever seen, but I still went in and proceeded to start my service. The friend of my mother's had recently quit so she was not available. Instead there was this guy who was about 60 years old. He couldn't hear well and he didnt' have any answers. I asked to speak to the owner who was in the back but she said she was too busy and did not have the time. The guy assured me that my trash would be picked up but I wouldnt get a can for at least a month.
Well, needless to say three weeks later, I still had not trash pick-up and to top it off they told me that I never paid. I had to go to my bank and get the statement where they had cashed my check. This time the old man was gone and there was a new lady there. She was very nice, (nicer that the rest I had dealt with) and she added me in the system, because they had no record of me, then promised me a trash can by the end of the week. Now this lady was new,but she had her customer service act in order. She took care of my order and I have had pick-up on time since then.
I don't necessarily recommend ABC but since this new lady has started and I believe her name is Agnes, she the service has been 100% better.
ABC Waste.....is a waste of money.... – After being instructed to put my trash out 3 days in a row for 2 weeks, my trash was never picked up, despite my constant calls, and their constant reassurances that my address was "on the list" to be picked up. I have canceled my service and requested a full refund, including a fee for the trash bin that I never recieved. However, it's been 2 weeks, and I have still not recieved my refund.
ABC Waste - Customer-NO-Service – We have been a customer of ABC Waste for nearly 7 years. At first they were the best for the price.
Over the past year, they have increased their prices, changed our collection days, missed collection days, and ignored my constant phone calls.
We have had collection once per week - used to be Fridays, now Tuesday, or Wednesday, or Thursday, or Friday, and the occasional Saturday. - They recently changed our collection day and it is supposed to be Tuesday. Since they changed to Tuesday - our trash has actually been picked up on Tuesday once!
We have always changed our collection around Thanksgiving, to twice a week until the first week after January. This is to accommodate any additional trash that we may generate over the holidays. Until this past season, the collection was great. This past season, they had a tendency to skip the second day pickup, and sometimes skip the primary pickup. I kept track of the uncollected days, and they did not bill me for those days.
Since the week of Memorial Day, we have not been picked up on the day we were supposed to. They have not returned any of my voicemail messages. I have spoken to their call taker the past two Tuesdays; she assured me that collection will be on time. They did not collect until Friday of the past two weeks. They did not take any of my phone calls the rest of the weeks.
They also charge for a convenience fee of $3.00 if you pay by credit card over the phone. They recommend you write a check and drop it in the mail. They need to get into the 21st century.
I have gathered the contact information for some of the other collection services in the area, and will be changing the service starting next week.
This service shows that it has 4 stars; I don't understand that since the other review shows it with one star. I too am giving them one star - this is only for past years service.
Bad customer Service and Slow response – I've recently bought a house and chose their service for waste disposal about 2 and a half weeks ago. I've yet to receive the delivery of my garbage bin even though I've been charged for it. Each time I call I have to dial at least 3 or 4 times before I actually talk to someone. When I do actually get through to a human, they assure me very half-heartedly that the bin is coming "tomorrow" or "this afternoon" or "they're delivering right now." I've left messages asking they call me back with at least an explanation or something and have never gotten that courtesy.
At least they've claimed to prorate my account for the time I've lost. We'll see if that happens.
