Definitely Coming back to this one! – This place was great! My husband and I tried it for the first time this evening, without knowing much about it except what we saw on citysearch. There is plenty of parking, had a great atmosphere, the wait staff was very nice and the food was great! We ordered the Rolls Royce Roll not really knowing what to expect and got enought food on one roll to feed us for our entire dinner. It is a california roll top with loads of tomatoes and salmon, yummy! Of course we tried other things after that, but it was all great!!

TRY IT OUT!! You wont be sorry.

Good Little Sushi Place – I can be just as much of a food snob as the next person, and this is not the place for the sushi snob. If you are craving traditional, elegantly prepared sushi, go somewhere else. The portions are oversized, so it's not a great place to dine alone (unless you can really pack it away). Even as a couple, my finace and I find it hard to order more than two or three items per visit.

Those that enjoy the San Fernando Valley sushi bar experience will like this place. I have always found the fish to be fresh and the service to be friendly. It's important to stick to the dishes they do very well, like the spicy cut rolls (chunk style, of course) or the Alex Roll. They also have a pretty good salmon tempura roll for those that like cooked fish. Their nigiri sushi is quite good but the pieces are about double (I am not exaggerating here) the size of other sushi places, so start with half as much as you normally would someplace else.

Expect to wait on Friday and Saturday evenings. We have never experienced poor service during our meal, but there have been a couple of occasions when we needed to flag someone down to pay our bill. Bottom line, I like this place a lot. Even though it's not top notch sushi, it's a comfortable place to go and get something decent to eat.

YUMMMMMYYYYYYYY – ok i loveee sushi & ive been to a LOT of sushi places, but i gotta say, the people here dunno wat theyre talking about. maybe their the beginners because as any other place, u gottta know what to order. their rolls are not big. & u can taste the freshness of their fish. their service is not slow. like any other restaurant, their not gonna bring it to u in 5 seconds, its not mcdonalds. their albacore roll & baked scallop roll is AMAZINGGG. & i lovee their foood. if yur a sushi person... MUSTTT TRYYY. =]

Terrible Sushi and terrible service!! – I love to go out to dinner a lot and am down to trying to new places once and if I like it I will go back for seconds. But I will never go back here. The sushi is not sushi grade and the service was poor and slow. Reminded me of a my high school cafeteria except I was being served.......

The worst sushi experience ever! – We decided to try Shiki last night for dinner. We were both craving sushi and thought it might be good. The service was ok, but the sushi was TERRIBLE! The pieces of fish were long, rubbery, and fishy smelling. My date ordered seared ahi tuna, and it came with GARLIC SALT on top!! It was almost like they were trying to hide the fact the the fish was not fresh. We sent everything back and left immediately. Call me a sushi snob, but this place had both of our stomachs upset the rest of the night! We will not be back!

Some of the WORST SUSHI ever... – The sushi I had here was so bad, I felt compelled to actually sign up and review it to help other people avoid this place. I usually go to Sushi Katsu-ya (which is amazing) but was hungry and decided to come here before a massage at Hands on Health in the same center. I came in and was welcomed nicely and told everything is good by the sushi chef, and that if there was anything I didn't like, there was a money back guarantee.. Well, I ordered a few things ...one order of albacore, which was barely ok.. the fish was WAY OVERSIZED.. so there was absolutely no balance with the rice... Then the rolls came which were so huge they were impossible to eat (ATTENTION MANAGEMENT: BIGGER IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER!) and tasted terrible....I swear there was canned tuna in it. I didn't want to offend the chef, so I when asked I said the food was "not bad"... I LIED... I was thinking about taking him up on his "Money Back Guarantee" but I couldn't bring myself to do it.... I then just told them to wrap up the rest (I could not bear to eat any more) and took it TO GO... and as soon as I left the restaurant, I threw it in the nearest trash can.

I think its sad that a sushi restaurant has to cater to the SUPERSIZING style of fat Americans and make their sushi so huge... "Everything here is BIG" said the chef to me.... I mean come on... Sushi is about BALANCE.. not let's pile 32lbs of fish on 2oz of rice... it was DISGUSTING. I hope the management of this place read this review and get some BETTER FISH.. and go to KATSU-YA.. and eat there... They need to see for themselves what good sushi tastes like...

I could go on and on about how awful the food was here, but if you don't beleive me, go see for yourself. You'll be sorry you wasted your appetite, time and money....

Fantastic sushi at reasonable prices – I eat here at least a couple times a month. If I'm not in the mood for something more exoctic, I'll get the Lunch Special. A choice of 2 entrees + spicy tuna rolls, miso and salad for $7.95? What a great bargain!

I'm pretty picky about sushi, but the quality of their fish is always top notch, and it's so beautifully presented. The sushi chefs are always friendly and cheerful, and the waitresses are really sweet.

Great sushi in the valley! – Shiki offers a different taste than the usual sushi spot...And that is a good thing!

The fish has always been fresh, but you have to have an idea of what to order as they offer no pictoral menu. A good idea is to go your first time with someone that has been before, or to go on a crowded night so you can see what others are ordering...

With a good eye and an open mind you're in for a treat!

They are known for their house special "rolls royce". Highly reccommended.

Portions are usually immense, so don't over-order.

WOW!! – this is THE place for sushi. we use to go to this all you can eat restuant all the time, but now that we discovered shiki we dont go anywhere else. oh my goodness the amount of fish that they give you. and for the cheap price??!!!! no way can anyone compare. ive been going almost every week because its so darn good. ill order sushi only though. DONT order their dinner combos. they are not good at all and besides why would you want to eat dinner combos when they have the greatest sushi ever??!!!

i walk out of there feeling like i have had my share of sushi for the rest of the month but then a few days later ill crave shiki again. its very addicting especially how much fish they give you ...... absolutely the greatest place ever!!
