BEST DENTIST EVER! – I have a chronic numbing issue with my lower jaw. Other dentists have tried many times (several visits, my time, their time and wasted anesthetic to go along with it) - Dr Agarwal was able to get it numb in ONE visit, he never injected to the same spot and he patiently "held my hand" through the whole experience. This is why I will NEVER GO ANYWHERE ELSE! Dr. Agarwal's reputation may be national for cosmetic dentistry, but my personal opinion is that he should be recognized for being the most caring and competent dentist that Raleigh is lucky to have, hands down! Thank you Dr. A and your team for always making me feel at home!
Professional and Caring – Dr. Agarwal and his staff have done nothing but make me feel comfortable every time I visit. The office is very nice and very clean and the front desk staff does everything they can to accommodate my busy schedule. When questions about insurance arise, they do the leg work and I am never bothered by it.
Melissa has been my hygienist there for years and between her personality and professionalism with Dr. Agarwals' experience, my teeth and I are very happy and well taken care of!
Unfortunately folks tend to go out of there way when something bad happens to make sure everyone knows about it, but when a good job is done there is rarely public praise. Either way, I highly recommend this dental office!
Caring, Competent Dentist – It is ashame one customer choses to keep writing bad reviews of Dr. Agurwal. I have used him for many year, including a very complicated procedure (replacing all my metal filliings with white ones). This took numerous visits. After that, he became my ongoing dentist. I have always found him to be very respectful and hard working. It is easy to make an appointment and he will even slip you in at the last minute during emergencies. He even gave me his cell phone once because in case my dental concern acted up while he was on vacation. His cancelation policies are explained thoroughly at the initial visit and are more than reasonable. He is, in fact, the only dentist I have ever recommended to friends and colleagues. I couldn't be happier with my care.
Response to Tarun "T-Bone" Agarwal, DDS – Today when I received an email from Dr. Tarun "T-Bone" Agarwal's office stating that I was "...overdue for your preventive dental and oral health examination," I was amused. Amused because the previous day, "T-Bone" wouldn't speak to me. The cowardly lion hid behind his receptionist. As a business owner, I understand that "T-Bone" has to cover for his staff when they make mistakes. I called well-in-advance of my appointment and was not reminded of their 48 hour cancellation policypenalty. Their policypenalty is not detailed on their email reminders. However, his office become very policy heavy when the customer does not meet their 48 hour criteria. As a courtesy and after the receptionist advised that I was welcome to take my dollars elsewhere, I advised them of my initial review...all based in truth. Ironically, "T-Bone's" office isn't courteous enough to REMIND its customers of the penalties they will incur if they do not adhere to the policies that have been created. A simple reminder is all that was needed and would have been appreciated. It's obvious for some, "The Almighty Dollar" is paramount to patient retention.
Response to review from fjune – Our entire office at Dental Arts takes customer service and quality clinical care very seriously. We are able to respond to this review promptly because "fjune" advised our office that she would write a bad review on citysearch and then faxed the review to our office.
I understand that things happen in our busy lives and schedules need to change and sometimes things come up. In order to provide the level of service we strive for we don't 'double book' and hardly ever run behind schedule. When a last minute change happens in our schedule it throws a wrench into our planned day. Our hygienst or the doctor (myself) doesn't have a backup patient. Our cost of doing business and our employee salaries still continue as well. This is the unfortunate fact of running a business.
We appreciate that "fjune" called 3 days (more than 48 hours) in advance to inquire about rescheduling. However, our team was advised she would call back and didn't hear from her until the day before (2 days after the initial call). All patients are made aware of our appointment policy when they sign their patient paperwork.
In regards to taking the business elsewhere.... Certainly no business wants to customers to leave, but we feel and respect that it is a patient's right to choose where they seek dental care. It is unfortunate that "fjune" will be leaving our practice. I am certain she will find a practice that meets her scheduling flexibility needs.
In closing, it is unfortunate that this event has been brought into the public. I would be a liar if i said that every person that has visited our office loved us. I understand that we aren't the right fit for everyone. We make a commitment to each patient by not double booking and working very hard to start and end on time. In return we simply ask our patients to respect our time by giving us adequate to notice to any appointment changes.
Thank you for your time.
Tarun Agarwal, DDS
Poor Customer Service - "That's fine." – It is with great pleasure that I write this review. As a consumer, I have choices. A few months ago, I made an appointment with Dr. Agarwal's office for April 3. I called his office on Mon, Mar 31 to reschedule the appointment. The receptionist stated that the next available appointment was April 30 since Dr. Agarwal would be out of town. Needing to be seen sooner than April 30, I told her I would try to rearrange my schedule and would call back. She stated "ok" and for me to call back as soon as I could. I called the office on Wed, Mar 2 and was advised that cancelling or rescheduling an appointment requires a 48 hour notice and that I would be billed $75. Baffled why I wasn't told this on my initial call, she stated it was the office policy to bill customers for cancelling
escheduling appointments without a proper 48 hour notice.
As a long time patient of Dr. Agarwal's, it's infuriating for someone to cite policy when you're an unhappy customer. When I spoke with "Danika" (the receptionist) later this afternoon and advised her that I would be taking my business elsewhere, her response was, "That's fine." So thank you very much "Danika" and Dr. Agarwal for allowing me to take my dollars to a new office. Thank you for showing me that my business is undervalued at your location. Thank you for allowing this review to happen and saving me the time of referring friends to your office.
