BEWARE- Over priced, unprofessional and lazy! – I recently moved to AZ. All my tattoo work has been done in WA by an absolutely amazing shop (Black Rose Tattoos). Well, I didn't know of any places here. I had asked my best friend to find some place. She ended up getting a recommendation to this shop - worst advice ever. Well, since her and I don't know anything around here we assumed it was a good place if someone was going to recommend it- WRONG. We talked about getting matching tattoos together and were really excited once we located the place. We walked in and there was a little kid, about 4 yrs old, in the front watching tv-by himself. As we walked in a man from the back of the shop told us to come back there. We went into the back where we found, Sean, eating. He initially seems nice and professional. It later became apparent that he was anything but. So we show him what we wanted and he tells us 180 for 7 words... Mind you this is just script- we also told him we wanted to maybe add a little bit of color and he claims that would be ok. However, we didn't think about how overpriced it was because we were excited to get our tattoos - that was our fault. We made an appointment for about two weeks later and placed a $20 deposit each-Then ended up needing to reschedule-giving him another two weeks. When we got there, at our scheduled appointment time, we walked in and found Sean eating. He told us to come back in 20-30 min so he could set up and get the stencil printed up. Now, he has had now about a month to be "set up" and "prepared." We leave and come back 30 minutes later. We walked up and he was outside smoking a cigarette. He then stated, "Just let me finish this smoke and get set up." We were under the impression that he WAS getting set up when he asked us to first leave.

He finally got set up and by the time he put the ink in my arm it was already 2:30pm. He did a sloppy, EXTREMELY sloppy job on my outline. The lines were squiggely. It became absolutely apparent he did not give two sh*ts about what was going to be on my body forever. After finishing the first portion he claimed he needed to take quick a smoke break and needed to stretch his back. He took about 20-25 min. This ended up being a ridiculous pattern the whole time we were there. it became obvious he was not going to fix spots unless I asked him. I asked him to "clean up" up several of the lines and he became argumentative with me stating that that's how the picture I gave him looked like, which was untrue. The lines in the picture I had as a reference were perfectly clean crisp lines.

We had also mentioned we wanted to add a shadowing of color to which he stated that he didn't think it was a good idea, he thought it would look like an "after thought" and for us to sit on it and come back in three weeks if we still want to. We were adamant that we wanted color and he was adamant about us coming back. We finally decided to drop it. A tattoo that should've taken at THE MOST an hour ended up taking almost 5. We got there at 1 didn't get started until 230, didn't finish mine until 445-5ish and began on my friend at about 5-515. She claimed that if he hadn't already started on me then she would've walked out, to which I absolutely agreed. We both also agreed to not leave him any kind of tip at all.

He claimed that since it has taken all day and he felt bad that he would do something "nice" and "hook us up." Nothing nice happened. We finally walked out of the shop at a little after 6 pm. He charged us the complete $180 for very simple script writing.

We walked out of there vowing to never go back. And now, my tattoo feels much different than any of my other tattoos. It is red and irritated in certain areas and worries me now after reading the other review speaking about diseases. I have immediately made an appointment to get blood work done. I honestly wish I would've done a review search on this place before I went. I wish I did not give this man my money or my time and my health.

What A Dead Man Walking! – Yes, Sean has a real bad attitude. I know first hand that he is dirty as well. I got a staff infection from him, and when i went back he said I was to blame... He said that I used to much lotion to get the staff... Also, he smokes ciggarettes every twenty minutes of tattooing. So i got tattooed for twenty minutes, then he smoked every time for 30-40 minutes!! So, I went to the doctor not believing him, and found out his smoking and not washing his nasty fingers caused my life long infection. I have witnessed other problems within the shop during my couple visits! They are all pill heads. I heard Sean talking to a client about trading drugs for work, and Sean said yes! He is a pill abuser and I would never let a person tattoo me like him ever again.
