BS. My friend's son has some of the worst food allergies. The poor kid cannot eat wheat, eggs, or nuts. This allergy makes it pretty difficult for his parents to take him out to eat. At 5 years old, if his food even touches something with one of the above ingredients, like a piece of bread or anything with flour or eggs, his throat swells up and hes off to the emergency room. Someburros was appeciative for the kid's allergy until they got too busy. My friend would take him there as much as 3 times a week for a cheese crisp on a corn tortilla. Instead of the flour tortilla, it makes it so he can eat it and shouldnt cost the restaurant anymore, howevere if it does, my friend is more than willing to pay whatever cost to make sure that he gets something that wont make his son sick. After several months of doing this for them, the manager told my friend that they could no longer make that substitution because there was not a button on the register for them to place that substitution order for the kitchen to see it on the order ticket and therefore it was too much of an inconvenience for them to turn around and let the staff in the kitchen know of the change. What a joke?!?!?!?!?! Neither I, my friend , nor anyone I know that I have been able to tell about this has been back. I will never eat there again!!!!!

Cheap and Honestly Good. This is the sort of place that could fail in so many ways, and yet it succeeds in every respect. They could cater to Gringos, yet the food is decidedly not Gringo-chow. They could be a greasy little fast food joint, but the food is . . . well, you can only degrease Mexican food so much before its not Mexican food. Its not as greasy as it could be! They could serve bland, spice-less salsa, but their salsa has a little fire in it. I like everything about the food here. Its not the best Mexican food Ive tried, but its some of the best in Phoenix. I daresay, Someburros almost belongs in Tucson. Its a bright spot in the otherwise bleak Gilbert restaurant scene.
