They have closed the restaurant 11/08 – We called to reserve and they said they were closing restaurant part, only the bar will remain open.

Fabulous pizza – Try the Siciliana- I ordered the ancholvies on the side- and it was a large serving of them- but it tasted like there where some on the pizza too! It was wonderful. The 11 " is enough for 2 ( with an appetizer) or, as I did ,bring some home for lunch the next day. The crust was thin, the cheese not too much. I can't recommend it enough.

The salad ( which was included for $9!) was cold, crispy and fresh.

The sparkling wine I had was good, the foccacia wonderful.

Next timne I am back in Tucson this place is first on my list!

I was not expecting greatness. HOWEVER... – I do not enjoy many Italian restaurants in general. I am first gen Italian. Mom from Abruzze. Dad from Calabria.

I have found excellent venues in Chicago, New York, San Fran, so I was not expecting much at Corleone Mona Lisa.

I have tried to go to this restaurant for many years, the sign was up, there even was a recording, but it never opened. The old "Pawnbroker" lounge/bar was an old hang out..so..intrigued by the sign "Now open."

Yes the inside brings Goodfellas to mind, and the period music Sinatra, .Bennett add to the image. A nice contrast and a nice humor, sort of a Bada Bing without the dancers ! A welcome difference from usual the usual decor..

The wait staff was excellent, informal like at a friends home. If the friend is Joe Pecsi !

I ordered the Pata del Pescatore, However I wase more in the mood for Marinara, which they accomodated. My wife choose the Corleone Shrimp Scampi.

A Calamari Fritti and Antipasto Sciliano with a nice wine set the palate.

The Calamari was crisp, the Marinara a great compliment, the Antipasto wonderful. I was excitied to sample the entree.

Wonderful, best describes our meal. The Pescatore was filled with Mussells, Clams, Shrimp, Scallops. More seafood then Pasta..!

Mrs dinner. Tthe Scampi equally impressive..

Cannoli, Muffoletto.Espresso Sambucco.

I have never written a review for a restaurant. I came to this site just to get the phone number for reservations tonight.

There is NO BETTER Italian in this town. The equal of many of the best I have been to, anywhere.

Mom doesn't have interenet...so..it's safe for me to say. As good or better than Mom's and Grandma's Wait uh..what.. ?

No. Ma, I was kidding. I didn't know youwere standing there. *(^$9(&$@ hey wait..*&%@ Ma that hurt..*&@#! OW!! Hey don't pinch. Yo, I was kidding. You know yours is the best.

OK. We'll take you tonight..!!

Go see for your selfa. Don't tell Ma, until after she eats there..!

Enjoy..

I wanted to be impressed... but it wasn't good at ALL! – The interior had me waiting for Joe Pesci to come in out of a scene from Casino. I wanted to like it, but... we had calimari fritti to start and all we could taste was the bland breading. The accompaning sauce tasted like it was right out of a jar. Our salads were less than inspiring and my "blue cheese" dressing might as well have been ranch. It was bad bottled sauce. Our entrees were equally less than mediocre. My wife had the scallopes special which contained a piece of garlic so burnt it was rock hard. There was little taste to the sauce overall. My veal was so thin I could read a newspaper through it and the taste was equally thin as the angel hair pasta was WAY overcooked. It may have been chicken marsala and I wouldn't have known as the taste was so weak. I hate having to put salt and pepper on a dish when I eat out, but this really needed it and it still didn't help. My wife and I lived in Italy and we've not only been to Sicily, but we've had great meals in NYC and here in Tucson at Gavi and Vivace'. We SOOO wanted to like this, but it just wasn't good at all. The Tiramisu for desert was decent and the capuccino and cafe' correto were equally good. From this I can only say; get the wine to go and save yourself everything in between.

Just like home – having a meal at Mona Lisa is like a meal at home with Grandma...everything on the menu is prepared with the care and attention of a chef who loves his creations. The eggplant parmagiana is what I remember from my youth in NY ..exactly the way grandma fixed it....I have never had a bad meal at Mona Lisa and never hesitate to recomend it to my friends.

We Love It! – We discovered Mona Lisa shortly after they opened and we keep coming back as often as possible. The food, the service, and the people are absolutely the best. Coming from Sicily, after having a restaurant in New York for a time, they brought their brick oven, and their relatives, to open and operate the best authentic Italian restaurant in Tucson. This is a place where you are truly treated like family and where you are never, ever rushed through a meal.

ABSOLUTELY THE BEST – They are from New York City, they know their business, and it shows. This is the only place in Tucson where ex-pat NYC'ers can get a taste of home. There's nothing that they can't do well, and Mrs. Puccia, the owner/operator, is always around to talk to you like you're family. The pastry, cake, and bread is to die for. Anytime I don't want to cook, this is where I go.

Wonderful family & Marvelous food – Six of us were visiting from Scottsdale and

we called ahead on a Saturday night. Since it was a small restaurant we were surprised that they

held a table for us when they were packed.

we were treated royally and the food could not have been better. This Italian family just loves

serving you their fantastic food and pastries.

I wish I could have moved them to Scottsdale.

This was the best restaurant experience for the six of us in the last few years. Gives this place a try.

not a great neighborhood but a fantastic, inexpensive Italian meal with a wonderful bakery

right there.

A Work of Art! – Excellent food. The fried mozzarella isn't cheese sticks, it's slabs of fresh mozzarella, breaded and fried. The lasagna is great and the baked goods are divine. Try the chocolate dipped walnut cookies and the cannoli.
