Poor Service!!!! Never again. – This cafe has good food, but God forbid if it gets busy, you'll be waiting for over an hour to get served. Also, if a reputable actor or actress is dining, the waitresses tend to act like groupies and forget all about your table. I used to go here a lot, but after my last experience a couple months back with bad service and star struck waitresses I will never eat here again. Me & my friends will take our money elsewhere. I would suggest Waffles & More in Encino or Good Neighbors in Studio City; much better food, superb service, and waitresses who aren't star struck and will provide great service. I am huge on customer service!!!
Best breakfast in LA! – this place rocks! My boyfriend and I go here about once a week. I don't know why other places can't make their breakfast taste as good but Im just glad Vivians is so close to me. The banana pancakes, French toast combo, biscuts and gravy and Angelos special are some of our favorites. oh and we live Jerry, he will be nice older man serving your coffee refils. If you haven't been here yet you better go!
Cute patio, cozy atmosphere, resonable priced – This haunt is a real gem for all breakfast mavens. All dishes came steaming hot, plates were lavishly piled, and our breakfast was served with wholemeal bread, butter and jam alongside. The atmosphere and setting invited to relax and to hang out for a long time. Staff was very kind and attentive. I would highly recommend this spot for extensive and cozy weekend breakfasts.
Great brunch place! – Great food, great service, very relaxed and casual. Pleasant outdoor patio, there's never a crazy wait. It feels very homey like you're in someone's back yard.
Go to Jinky's instead.... Don't waste your time – So over rated. It's owed by the husband of Leah Remini from (The King of Queens) and he rides off the coattails of his wife's celebrity. She bought it for him to give him a hobby and the food taste that way. The service is poor. They are somehow related to Leah and treat you like you are a tourist. I recommend going to Jinky's down the street. Amazing food. It's not about being a "celebrity" owned restaurant.
It's Home Cooking... completely – WOW! We've been driving by this little charmer for years, admiring it's quaintness and promising to give it a try. Out for a mid-morning stroll, we decided to keep that promise. I cook & bake at home daily, and think of myself as a pretty good cook, and I must say that we were surprisingly overwhelmed by the wonderful, delicious, "home cooked" meals we were served, and the warm & friendly staff! I'm just sorry it took us so long to make good on our promise. Being within a 5 minute walk away, we will be making this little charmer a frequent stop. Outstanding!
Great PLACE!!!! – Excellent place and has never let me down in 2 years of living here. The House Omelette is my fave! Bannana Pancakes are awesome. Lunches are good, but it's my fave breakfast spot! Reasonably priced and always friendly. The patio is excellent. Celebs there on occasion and neighborhood rockers hold court on Sunday mornings. Waitresses are sweet! Parking sux, but worth looking for a spot!!!!
Great food, nice outdoor patio – On a sunny day, this is a great place to enjoy breakfast. Excellent and extensive breakfast options. Service is average as is expected from a casual restaurant like this, but the patio seating is a big plus. Rivals Jinky's but I must admit it's a toss between the two.
Hidden jewel – I always wonder why places in the area (Jinky's, the place by Sapphire) are always packed for breakfast and Vivian's is never slammed. This place is incredible and one of the best breakfast spots in the city. The prices are reasonable, the food great, the outside patio cozy on a nice sunny morning. It's hard to find and maybe we should keep it that way?
My Nomination for Best Burger in LA – Plenty of good quality meat, choice of cheeses, all the right fixins. You'd think it wouldn't be so hard to follow that recipe, but a good burger is hard to find in LA. I have tried most of the places mentioned on CS's best burger list (except the conglomerate outlets), and this beats them all - easily the best since he late, lamebted Bud's Redhots at Magnolia and Lankersheim.
Also good breakfasts, especially the pancakes.
