Horrible – The nursing home brought my mother to Dr. Habif because she had a really bad rash. The rash was in her groin area and in many other places. Dr. Habif only picked up my mothers shirt, looked at her stomach, told the nursing home to continue with the prescription cream and sent her on her way. Well, 1 1/2 torturous months later my mother had to be admitted to the hospice house for symptom management because the itching and rash still was not going away. They found that she had a very bad case of scabies! Dr. Habif should have diagnosed this with out any issues, that is why the nursing home sent my mother to him. DO NOT GO TO THIS DOCTOR!!!

Good Experience with Dr. Habif and Staff – I had my first full skin exam about 8 month ago with Dr. Habif and found him to be very professional and informative. He asked about family history, my personal concerns and answered all my skin cancer and preventative care questions. The appointment was unhurried and comprehensive. I did not have any problems with the staff and the receptionist I spoke with was easy going and helpful. When I check out they staff assisted me with my insurance question and were very friendly. I was surprised when I read the other review that the office staff was not professional - perhaps there have been some changes to the group but overall a very good experience and I would highly recommend this Dr.'s group.

Terrible receptionist – Dr. Habif comes recommended, but you should be warned this his receptionist will make you feel like you are the most irritating patient she's had to deal with in her life when you are calling with entirely reasonable questions. If you persist you will manage to get a message through to Dr. Habif, but it will be a miserable experience. If it wasn't for the previous review I would have put it down to the receptionist having a bad day, but this does not seem to be the case. If you deal with Dr. Habit, you will need to deal with the terrible attitude of his receptionist.

Horrible office staff – I was suffering a particularly vile acne onset a few days ago, so I called Habif's office from work to see if he could prescribe an antibiotic, Minocin, with which I had had some recent success. The always snide and nasty receptionist told me that she would make the request and that if there were any problems, she would call me back and let me know. The phone didn't ring, so I figured all was well.

When I got to CVS the pharmacist informed me that they had received a phone call from Dr. Habif's office informing them of their decision not to fill the prescription. When I called their office the next day, I attempted to make an appointment, but was informed that I had been discharged as a patient because a bill of mine had gone to collections. I have been with this office for 18 years, and have never been in arrears. I was pretty righteously angry, and the receptionist seemed to be having a fine time informing me that I was no longer welcome there.

It turns out that there was a co-payment of $25 on my previous visit which I paid on the spot. They somehow screwed up the billing on their end, and it turned out that I was responsible for a co-payment of $35, a $10 difference. They also neglected to bill me for the difference. Not a single bill or phone call. After a few months without a visit where I might have been informed of the balance, the $10 complaint was sent to collections and an 18 year relationship with Habif's office was wiped out.

This dermatology office has the most poorly managed customer service I have ever seen in a professional organization. They screwed up their billing, sent my account to collections and trashed an 18 year relationship accusing me of fiduciary malfeasance when it fact it was their shoddy record-keeping that precipitated the entire misunderstanding.
