The Sunset Strip location of this ever-growing chain - it started in Santa Monica - is one of the few with beer and wine. You can completely customize your burger, from the patty type to the bun (or bowl) to toppings, sauces, etc. Parking is free for one hour with validation.
The service here is great! My burger was cooked medium to my likely. I think it was a little under seasoned and not as juicy as other location. However I would try this again as the service was great and the food was good enough.
I'd really like to write a raving review for this place, because I think their concept is fantastic. However, somehow the end result leaves something to be desired. You get to customize every aspect of your burger, which I love. Prices start adding up when fancy toppings are applied. My beef is that some of the ingredients could be higher quality, and then the burger would be so much better. The burger needs better seasoning. The buns need to be more sturdy- they fall apart into slop when any wet toppings are present. It's a good meal here, but if you expect real greatness, you might be disappointed.
good burger. let u create ure own burger. the burger was good. the fries were too. i would definitely come back here again.
Citysearch Editorial Review – In early 2010, this popular mini-chain finally made its way to the West Hollywood area. Fans of the Counter frequent the burger beacon with cult-like seriousness--and for good reason. Counter's customizable menu features thousands of juicy burger-centric options where one can truly "have it your way." Everything from patty type (beef, turkey, veggie) to toppings (brie cheese, mushrooms, olives, eggs, grilled pineapple) and sauces (mayo, relish, ginger-soy glaze) are on the menu here. For those who haven't piled too much on top of their buns, on-the-side highlights include sweet potato fries, fried dill pickle chips and crispy fried-onion strings. This particular location seats over 100, with 30 tables outside overlooking Sunset Boulevard and even more tables inside (plus an actual counter great for solo diners). This outpost also features location-specific specials such as ahi tuna and caramel chocolate cookie milkshakes.
Charbroiled meats and fresh salsas add authentic spice to this Mexicali fast-food chain. – In Short
High tables and a busy open kitchen welcome diners into the spacious, brightly lit black-and-white interior. Just minutes after cashiers take customer orders, fresh-made tacos, burritos and enchiladas (stuffed with steak, chicken or seafood) arrive on the nearby counter. The menu also offers several plates of greens, from typical taco salad to fancier bowls with shrimp or mahi mahi. A stainless-steel bar offers several salsas, plus jalapenos, limes and cilantro for seasoning.
Sucks! with a capital S. – I will never understand the draw of this place. Everything tastes the same. The overcooked chicken and beef are interchangeable; the seasonings bland. The chopped cardboard disguised as rice is quite possibly the driest thing I've ever allowed to enter my mouth. This is NOT Mexican food by any stetch of the imagination. Take a look around the crowded tables and you'll see just who eats here-people with an aversion to flavor. I'll take a roach coach over Baja Fresh anyday!
Over Priced – I agree that to food is really very good, however, is it necessary to charge $8+ for 2 puny tacos that are smaller than the palm of my hand??
The service is great, quick and friendly, but I don't like being charged $7+ for 1 simple quesadilla.
Thay appeal to a lot of customers with a "health concious" menu, but for the taste, you could just as easily go find one of those taco stands for a much better value.
Go there Hugnry – Simply one of my favorite places to eat, ever. I'd recommend anything and everything on the menu if you like Mexican food. Cooked and prepared fresh everyday. My favorites are the Chicken quesadillas, any of the burritos, and their enchiladas. The have a little bar where you can pick up their red and green salsas, jalapenos, and pico de gallo. Also made fresh every day. You walk out of there feeling energized. True sign of a good meal.
