we recently went to your Todai's in MIssion valley and was sorely dissappointed with the food being offered. The sodas were flat and tasteless, the hot food all tasted terrible and deserts seemed frost bitten. After a few bites, we decided that we did not want to eat at this particular resturant, and let the know we wanted to leave. We were then told we needed to pay full price or the police would be called on us for stealing. This was quite frankly the worst resturant experience my family and I have ever had. We frequent Todai's resturant alot, but based on this last visit, we will never visit this place again. TERRIBLE!!!!!

This enormous Japanese buffet attracts a diverse crowd for all-you-can-eat sushi and tempura. – In Short
The first Todai Restaurant debuted in 1985 in Santa Monica, Calif., and has since opened in locations across the U.S. and in Hong Kong. The restaurant, with seating for up to 500 people, features a 160-foot seafood buffet offering more than 40 kinds of sushi, all made fresh. The salad selection ranges from Caesar to seaweed to red potato salad. Hot entrees include sukiyaki, teriyaki chicken, sweet-and-sour pork and udon noodles.

Good Selection – If you're more of the "quantity vs. quality" type, you'll enjoy this place. Todai has plenty of selection when it comes to both sushi and hot entrees (tempura, teriyaki, etc...), and since it's all you can eat, you shouldn't leave hungry. I've only been here for lunch, which is an excellent price for what you get. The desserts are pretty good too, they even make crepes for you. If you're looking for authentic, high quality Japanese, this probably isn't your cup of tea. If you want to get full, and try a bunch of different things, this is your place.

Only if you're starving – This place is pretty big, nice atmosphere, clean. As for the food, it looked fresh, tasted pretty good too. as for different choices, not many "hot foods" to choose from, lots of sushi, and tons of desserts...but the price was crazy, way too much for this type of a place.
