In response to the October Review – I do have to mention a few things. It is important in any orthopedic office to get x-rays on the patient, Even if they have had a MRI. Each procedure informs the doctor of what the problem "is not". It’s a process of elimination. Medicine is about finding what is not there. Sometimes it’s important to look at everything and be able to make an informed decision about treatment. Let me put it this way, you went to the mechanic and you wanted an oil change but you didn’t want them to open your hood. You see, they could do the job, but it wouldn't be a 100%. I wouldn’t want to go to a doctor that didn’t know 100%. Secondly, it would be interesting to know what problem you were having. Sometimes when treating a condition there isn't must conservative treatment that a doctor could do. Maybe therapy would make it worse or an injection wouldn't do anything. There may have been many reasons why conservative treatment wasn't an option. Thirdly, I would like to say doctors do have their bad days, especially if they have taken on-call shifts at the hospital. I have dealt closely with Dr Rosen and his staff and I have never heard bad things about either. I refer all my friends and family to his office. Im sorry you had a bad experience .
IT SHOULD BE CALLED "ALL ABOUT REVENUE BONE & JOINT SPECIALISTS" – I should have known what this experience was going to be like, given the rudeness of the receptionist when I called and asked if my MRI results had been sent over by the imaging center. She abruptly asked, "How were we supposed to get them?" Upon arrival I filled out a ridiculous amount of paper work, which no one read or even commented on, and then they iwhisked me off to have an x-ray. When I protested, stating that I had an MRI sent, the nurse became rude and stated that the Doctor needed them to assess my situation. Relenting, I had the x-rays ,which by the way, the Doctor took down immediately when he entered the room, and instead reviewed the MRI! Yeah, they were really necessary...for revenue only. After a brief, confusing conversation, ( he kept asking about my neck which I've never had a problem with and stated as such). I shared I wanted alternative treatment to surgery, and he began discussing sending me for pre-op tests! Hello...are you listening??? He never asked about the pain, what I was taking (only sparingly Alleve) he was more concerned about where I was going for the pre-ops! I'm not stupid, this was all about the revenue. When will Doctor's get it that some of us are not sheep and know that some of them are more interested in revenue than their patients. I will definitely not be going back there and feel better just having written this to let others know that they deserve to be treated better. I've had some great Doctors, they're out there, don't settle for money grubbers.... You need to feel confident that whatever procedure you're having, it really is in your best interest, and not about revenue. It was such a frustrating experience, I just had to share it.
