I like this Dentist – I and my family have been seeing Dr. Kintonis for 8 years. He's was reachable over the phone on a weekend when my 6 year-old bit her cheek after getting novacane and his staff has always dealt with the insurance for us.
The dental hygienists are a bit rough, but hey, I don't take care of my teeth and when I do leave, I hate to eat anything because my teeth feel so clean!
Great Dentist – I'm shocked at the previous review. I've been seeing Dr. Kintonis for the past three years specifically because of his response on the first visit to my concerns about pain control. He is so calm, gentle, and constantly aware of my status during any procedure. He asks before the anesthesia begins to wear off if I need more. I have experienced the long wait, but I think Dr. Kintonis is well worth it. We have no complaints on the hygenists that my son and I see. I have reccommended Dr. Kintonis to friends and co-workers whenever they mention they are afraid of the pain associated with dental work. I believe the previous reviewer might want to work on communications skills with medical practitioners.
Like pain? Don't like Money? Here's your guy – The staff is friendly and somewhat competant, the hygentists are nice and efficient but perhaps a bit
rough and punitive if you haven't flossed enough.
Here is the bad part, Dr. K is always ina hurry but disorgasnized and you end up waiting in the chair FOREVER, sometimes untilt the novacaine has worn off but you don't dare say anything because he will brutalize you with the needle again and leave for another eternity. OK I might be exagerating a bit but I don't think dentist offices are enjoyable so every extra minute I am there seems like a lot longer. He also seems rough or unskilled with the drill and I have been very uncomfortable on more than one occassion.
But this part is true: I have a large family so I shopped around for a good deal financialy when picking a dentist. The office manager told us that since we had two insurances we would not have to pay any copay.
That was the way it worked for over two years (and many visits). Then the office manager got fired or quit and the dentists wife came in and took over. She audited the books at least back the two years I had been coming and said we owed another couple thousand dollars. She said her office billed wrong and that we shouldn't have been exempt from copay. It was to late to go back to the insurance companies. I thought we were still negotiating the amount when I was called by a collection agency. I had to pay it to close a pending real estate deal.
I hope that the money they got was enough to make up for the loss of our families' business and to compensate them for the people I recomend don't go there ( I tell anybody who will listen whenever the subject comes up) I usually end my negative recomendation by saying " You would rather have your teeth pulled out with greasy pliers and getting dentures that have Dr. K for you dentist" Unless you like being broke and seeing your family in pain!
