Massive Richmond sushi bar offers a vast array of Japanese dishes. – In Short
A 30-foot long sushi bar takes up most of the space in this shiny, red and wood eatery. An equally expansive line of chefs serve up the 166 menu offerings and a handful of daily specials such as deep-fried red snapper, cold soba noodles, and the Cocoro roll, a California roll plus mango and yellow tail. The assembly-line vibe here can evoke the frenzy of fast-food joints, but the tables by the front window offer a calm place to chow.
Sushitomo 2005 Review – Nice place for sushi boat style japanese food. Everything looks and tastes fresh. Hot towels and hot tea to start your meal. The sushi is better than most places, the wide selection is good. Lots of cooked/veggie sushi also. Two people can easily finish 10-15 plates. The Beef Teriyaki was steak quality which was a surprise. Staff is friendly and quick. Expect to pay about $25 per person. Parking is tough but if you're hungry for good sushi, it's worth a few circles around the block.
Better than Kitaro next door! – Sushitomo has much better atmosphere and sushi than its neighoring competitors, but it's also a bit more expensive. Still, with sushi you tend to get what you pay for. They have a great selection, the fatty tuna is excellent (when it's available), and even their rice is better quality than you tend to get in sushi restaurants. The service is also great. Highly recommended!
the best sushi – I' ve been disappointed at many sushi restaurants in SF. Finally, I found this one near my house. Although it's not very cheap, quality of sushi and service are excellent. Try this restaurant, Ebisu lovers.
Japanese Food by Real Japanese People – The crowds at Kitaro 2 doors down have yet to discover Sushi Tomo - where they serve excellent, fresh, authentic Japanese food in a non-hectic setting. Food portions are large, the sushi is good (fish is larger than the rice), the tea is hot and the service is helpful and attentive.
