This local favorite offers what they call the "hand-held meal": palm-sized pies with a variety of sweet and savory stuffing options. – In Short
Chef Gerard Buulong of Cordon Bleu imported this compact cuisine from Southern France when he co-founded the Peasant Pies business in San Francisco in 1993. The two locations (this one's sister is in Noe Valley) offer a variety of vegetarian options; some, like the Moroccan Lentil and Spicy Eggplant Black Olive Tomato pies, are also vegan. Sweet pies with fruit or flan fillings complete the efficient meal.
Great food, fast and cheap – Great for lunch or a light dinner. They have a variety of pies - meat, vegetarian and vegan. Also dessert pies. Fast and cheap. We love this place!
