TERRIBLE service and worst experience at a bakery EVER! – This place is not what it appears to be.

I placed a order for a cake a week in advance just so no issues would occur. I specifically came here due to good things that i heard. I wrote specifications on how the cake should be and even provided a picture on how the cake should look. However, on the day of pick up things went completely wrong. First, I had to wait in line with other customers when my order was placed one week in advance. When i finally got to give them my ticket i had to wait close to 20 minutes for them to bring up my cake. Upon them showing me the cake, i was informed that they messed up and if i wanted i could have the cake as is or have them try and fix it. The saying that i asked for was not completely written so only half was there. Colors were ALL WRONG. The design was completely WRONG.Since i stated i would NOT be paying for a cake that i did not ask for they opted to try and fix it. Meanwhile i waited, the young lady informed me that she noticed the error on the cake one hour before i got there for pick up and she brought this up to the manager. However, he did NOTHING.

I waited close to 40 minutes for them to present to me a cake i could have bought at carvel. The writing was done in print, and not only was it sloppy it was written at an angel as if someone with no experience did it. In addition, the design was done very ammateurish, as if an 8 year old child had drawn it and there was smudging and noticable areas where they attempted to re-do their mistakes. Not to say the least the cake was a complete mess and i literally had to rant and rave for almost 10 mins to the manager before he decided to handle the situation in the most unprofessional way i have ever seen.

With this said i WILL NEVER GO HERE FOR A CAKE FOR A SPECIAL OCCASSION AGAIN. The service was horrible and their lack of customer care was disgusting. On top of this, the cake was not even what i asked for. I could have gotten a better looking and better tasting cake at Costco.

Service sucks like an eye of a tornado – Okay so the deserts are great. Really great. Almost spectacular and definitely worth a try. The food is meh, but still decent by all accounts... the thing that destroys the entire experience at Paneantico is the service. The moment that you enter this place it feels like you interrupted an important board meeting. The staff is inattentive, slow, and not courteous. It as if they are being forced against their will to serve on you. I went back a few times to this place and service was atrocious without fail. Will only do take out from now on.

Good deserts; bad service and mediocre food – I love this place- their deserts and coffee are delicious. But i only take things "to go" since the service is very slow and unfriendly. Like a bunch of high school kids doing you a favor by even talking to you. Food is pretty mediocre and slightly overpriced. Dont try pizza there! terrible. But again, deserts are amazing and priced very reasonably (i was pleasantly surprised).

SIMPLY THE BEST!!!

TIPS TO GET BEST OF YOUR EXPERIENCE: if you want to taste anything before ordering just let them know!!!

1. Do not eat minimum one-two days before going to this place. Otherwise you will not be able to try all you want or will take it all to go – which is THE FACT☺

2. First order one house salad for two people and after you done, considering space you have left in your stomach, do next order and remember to live big space for sweets!!!:) (I also love their seafood salad, definitely try it if you are in seafood mood).

3. Entree. I love the way they do eggplant with tomato souse and mozzarella cheese and Lemon Chicken or just find you favorites.

4. Te best part – SWEETS. Do not listen your stomach voice because it is impossible to it all types of sweets they have. Just get as many as you think you can eat and I guaranty you will end up taking at list 2 of them home. With sweets they have super tasty coffee drinks or Italian lemonades.

5. Buy meat bread or any other bread to go. You will not regret.

My order was:

One House Salad

Chicken in Lemon

Eggplant with tomato souse and mozzarella

One Big Ice Cappuccino

Two Italian Lemonades

Sweets – 7 peaces

Meat Bread

TOTAL WITH TAX: $48

MOST IMPORTANT:

- the BEST SWEETS, BAKERY and FOOD in five Boroughs and one of two best places in my World’s Simply The Best Places to Eat(the other one is in Europe). Everything is so good that I can’t find words to describe.

- the service is great because of the friendly and experience wait staff and manager Nick who just do what they love and you have this forgotten feeling of wanting to tip 20-30% and even if you are like me – go not alone and eat A LOT it (30% tip) will still be $15-20 from two people.

All these GUARANTIES you an EXAPTIONAL and UNFORGETTEBLE experience.

ENJOY!!!

The best espresso from one of their employees at the coffee station – An outstanding local shop that has the best flavor of being in an Italian establishment on this side of the Atlantic. Always bright and well attended, the pretty Murano chandelier in the center of the room, the food is delightful and the pastries are first rate. The classic pignoli bean cookies or the Amaretti biscotti are stand-outs. The other stand out is to hope that Peter is at the station if you're ordering caffe. What to some people would be overlooked, he has the knack and hand to make the BEST espresso and the same flavor time after time. For me, it's right up there to pulling up to the caffe bar at Lavena's in Piazza San Marco in Venezia and asking for a cup. You know EXACTLY what you'll taste year after year, just like if you're ordering across the Square at Florian's if you favor their flavor. Peter is one of those rare gems who seemingly effortlessly totally ensures the simple experience of an excellent single or doppio is going to put you right. Whatever you're doing Peter, keep doing it.

What is so great about this place?? – I have been to Paneantico a couple of times and I'm definitely not impressed. Their sandwiches are way overpriced for what you get and their pastries are tasteless. The only good thing about this place is the gelato.

Dolce Vita @ Paneantico – You gotta love this place. My husband and I are regulars here on Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast or lunch, the food is delicious and my husband can't help but love their cannolis. From their house salad to their scrumptious desserts, the quality and authenticity is there. It is a great place for locals, as well as Staten Islanders, who miss their Brooklyn roots. We simply love this place - as do the other regulars (which by the way, you see every week as well... sometimes even at the same tables they sat the week before). Bay Ridge without Paneantico .... forgeddaboudit! Shout out to Stacy (our favorite) and the rest of the girls on the wait staff!!

it's true... – This is a wonderful Italian bakery, coffee shop, and deli. The desserts are probably worth traveling for (pistachio cookies dipped in chocolate, mmm. ) But their table service is indeed extremely bad - basically they hire a bunch of kids and don't train them or manage them. On a laid-back day the food is certainly worth it.
