Daisy's Diner

What's better than an old school diner that is open for 24 hours? An old school diner that serves one of the best disco fries in town.

Best diner in Park Slope – Daisey's Diner is the quintessential definition of what a neighborhood diner should be. It has an enormous menu, ranging from country breakfast to nice Italian entrees, and they customize orders like no one else. My friend always orders the fried chicken sandwich. It's not on the menu, but it IS one of the photos on the menu. The first time he asked about it the waitress said, "Oh, the photos aren't real." She paused when she saw his downtrodden face and immediately followed up with, "But we'll make it if that's what you want, no problem." Want to add random cheeses to your tuna platter? Done. Want your stuffed avocado on a bed of Greek salad, a side of grilled eggplant, and a bowl of cottage cheese? Sure thing. I have never once ordered something that I wasn't completely satisfied with. The best part? Open 24 hours. And the fastest delivery. No matter how complicated your order might be, delivery time is fifteen minutes tops. Whatever craving you might have post-Saturday night binge drinking, or for Sunday morning hangover brunch, or dinner on a weekday, they have it or will make it, all with amazing attitude, service, quality, and taste.

The restaurant itself is adorable. Intimate, plush booths, stools at the bar, and tables and chairs for larger groups are available in a long, rectangular space. They've got quaint decorations on the walls that look like tastefully handmade junkyard art. Walking in is like walking into an artist or sculpture's home. The lights are soft and comforting. The booths are so easy to sink into. The staff is always friendly, welcoming, and joking with you. The ladies' room has a sign over the toilet telling you not to flush down paper towels, and it ends with one hilarious phrase: "Tank you."

What more could you ask for?

An Excellent Diner – It's true that Park Slope doesn't have many 24 hour diners, this place is great. Even the delivery is super fast. The staff is very friendly and quick. Not amazing but it's a diner that will fill that craving.

24 Hour Diners Are Great – The area doesn't have a lot of 24 hour restaurants, so it helps to have a place like this - service is always friendly and quick, and you get what you expect from the food. Nothing fantastic, but worth the trip for a 1 AM french fry craving.

Are they serious? – I am not one to bash a place but this place is just that bad. The waiter was friendly and his service was ok but the food was just really really bad. The roastbeef had a bad smell to it and when I told the waiter he said he would take care of it. When he returned, the manager was with him and told me they would replace it with something else. When my order was ready, I over heard the manager tell one of the waiters to "bring this over to the picky person at that table" Is he kidding? When i comfronted him about it he told me I was looking for problems and to get out. I have never been so insulted in my life. I rather take my business to the donut shop on 7th ave and 9st or purity. I don't mind the extra 2 blocks walk.

So overall. the waiter was friendly- food was just good enough to feed my dog-management=rude.

In a word... – It's OK. Not great diner food, but it's there and it's 24 hours.

In a word, meh.

A neon cup of steaming coffee invites folks for breakfast bonanzas or late-night snacks. – In Short
High ceilings, exposed-brick walls and fresh flowers give this long-standing local diner a cosmetic edge over its coffeehouse competitors. The cluster of booths up front is followed by a long sit-down counter, then a larger dining area in back. All day and all night, customers choose from a lengthy and international list of entrees: Romanian steak, Virginia baked ham and omelettes indebted to Ireland, Italy, Mexico and Spain.
