People, what's your problem, really? – Alright, I’m going to open a can of worms here while I’m on it. I ran across these reviews while browsing this evening, trying to google and get a phone number for a previous co-worker, and I must say I’ve found these slightly amusing. Really people? I used to work for this company and I must say that as ill-based as these remarks have been towards SCF’s employees and … what was it? Oh yes, “Poor customer service skills”, there was no mention of the clientele’s treatment of this company. I have worked for three financial institutions in my time. Two of which for collections, and I have never been cursed at and treated the way that I had been treated while working at SCF. Of course, I had never had to deal which such sub-par clientele either, so I guess you get that trash that you sign on, right? I never cursed, shouted at, or abused a customer. However, for some reason, the client’s always felt the need to curse, shout at, and abuse me. I cannot tell you how many first payment defaults I saw while working here, at least five or six a month. How’s that their fault? They never received a dime. However, I did witness Pat completely give away a car that was almost 4 months past due to a cancer patient, and for some un-Godly reason allow a certain customer who ‘s loan constantly sat on my “out for repo list”, drive off with a payment arrangement at almost 6 months past due (oh, she never paid… and we didn’t get the car back because she disappeared… again.. so the company had to eat that), simply because she bothered to stop by. I’m not an advocate people, I was laid off after I had my baby (ooops.. that gives me a way, doesn’t it?), but grow up. I personally have had the” joy” of speaking with their customers and I can assure you on a personal note (because I no longer have to answer to SCF or their clients) that the employees “enjoy” talking to you, just as much as you do to them. And not answering your phone (to those who advised that in their previous posts) is a one-way ticket to repossession, so go ahead, try it and see. I have no hard feelings towards this company. They are only trying to do what they can to stay in business during traumatic financial times. I’m just surprised that, by my understanding through reading these emails, they’re still giving washed up deadbeats loans… Oh, it’s “financial” not “finachial”.. That’s just irritating. Here’s a thought, just a thought.. if you cannot afford to make car payments… don’t buy a car!
BAD SERVICE, BAD PEOPLE, STAY AWAY – I got my car in 2008 and I put down more that 1/2 of what it was worth. My payments ARE $194.00ish and I was paying them $200.00 every month. Then my husband and I were going thru a hard time (him had not been working for 5 months) and I was behind only 2 payments ($388.00ish) and they repo my car at work at that time I only had owed them about $2,500.00ish. I got my car back and they charge me extra charges for the repo, a misc. charge (what the hell it that, they really couldn't tell me), etc., so it was almost $700.00 more. I paid $1,500.00 to get my car back. Only owing them about $1,300.00ish at that time I asked them If they can switch my due payment, they said they could not do that because there was already an agreement sign..Then they told me that I NEEDED to get a CELL PHONE OR A HOUSE PHONE other than my work phone because they need another # where they can reach me...If I cannot make my monthly payments on time, what makes them think that I can afford another bill...The lady from Security Capital said that it said in our agreement that I sign, which I can't remember reading that. Anyways, now I am about 2 payments away in paying off the LOAN (WOHO!) and I have been getting constant calls. You really cannot talk to these people they are rude, not professional, they do not give you a second chance, and they just want to get paid not matter what. I ignore their calls cause I know what they want and I know how much I owe and they will get the $$ when I have it. STAY AWAY FROM THEM they are not a good company and the customer service is horable......Thank god I am almost thru with them.
the WORST FINACHIAL COMPANY TO DEAL WITH – my soon to be husband and I had gotten a 1999 for excursion from Troys auto sales in Sterling colorado why they sold our loan to this company i will never know!! my husband and I were going through some tough times and we had tried to communicate with this comp several times they have poor customer service skills telling us how to run our life and pay our bills one of thier funding managers starts with an (A) you know who you are was a real @$%@# they don't care they just want their money and knowing we were less then 5 payment away from owning our car and we had to make our payment plus the upcoming payment wich we were happy to do so at the end of the month as planned and it was NOPE we want our money NOW or give us the car so like dumb butts we gave the car back to the comp that we bought it from and it was well you have to come up with 1000.00 to get the car out of storage so that we the 600.00 plus their fees I was like you know we don't have it and she laughed and said not my problem you want your car you pay up WOW !!! I have never been treated like that from any other lender Herbies Auto Sales in Greeley colo Never treated us like that and I went through Prestege finachial and they were NICE and understanding when I went through my divorce with my first husband taking care of my kids on my own and struggling to make that payment but i did it and it was mine because they WORKED WITH ME !!! and didn't treat me like dog @&%#% so if you ever buy a car KNOW WHO YOUR LENDER IS DON"T USE THESE LOOSERS!!!
A seriously bad company – I have a eerie suspicion that a lot of these positive reviews are written by SCF employees. One here already admits it, and I'm willing to bet because of the mass negative reviews here and elsewhere, they want to try to save face. Really though these people are CRAZY. Like CRAZY in a my brother is also my daddy kinda way. I don't know what they ask when they hire someone, but I'm positive it has to come with a conformation of mental illness.
CORDIAL EXPERIENCE WITH MINIMAL HARDSHIP – I would not have had an opportunity to have business interactions with Security Capital Funding (SCF) if not for a sour experience with a mediocre Used Car Dealer who became so belligerent with me. Because I refused to fall for his inconsiderate offers and wanting to twist things around; he suggested a Loan Company and that is how I ended up with SCF. Since April 2006; my loan was instantaneously approved by SCF and for 2 straight years I had the opportunity of working with a lady named Wendy. I never met her personally, but she was extremely courteous, helpful, understanding and highly professional. Of course, I cannot say that about other employees that I had talked to when she is not at the office. I would suspect that a public company, offering financial services to the "needy" customers should practice great customer satisfaction with their clients. Wendy did. I was always on time with my payments, except on few occasions when I fell sick and received nasty NOTICE OF ASSESSED LATE FEE even after making phone calls to SCF prior to the payment being due; explaining the circumstances. Sometimes, I felt like I was involved with a HARDCORE LOAN SHARK COMPANY. Consummating business with someone that is already down and out with harshness and disrespect is not a sensible Customer Satisfaction strategy and being rude on the phone is not the professional way to go. There is always good and bad side to everything; Wendy was the only good thing that really happened to me during my 2 years business involvement with SCF; because she understood and shows passion with a customer in dire need. It will also be nice if SCF Corporate would consider a flexible loan with their MOST VALUE CUSTOMERS that paid conscienciously or have a passing record and history with SCF. The old adage says, "The fingers are not made equal"; not everybody has the luxury of having a "Good Credit"; that is why some folks end up with a company like yours. Please reconsider and revamping your company philosophy towards your customers and you will be around for a very long time and your name will not be tarnished in Denver Metro and reporting SCF to Bureau for Better Business. A good reputation is a lot better than having a bad reputation or no reputation. I might still use your resources if need be; since I have an established CLEAN PAYMENT RECORD with your company; get rid of the BAD APPLES within SCF. In my own case, High Medical bills has been the culprit; everybodies' situation is never the same, BE PROFESSIONAL, BE COURTEOUS and BE CONSIDERATE. Wendy has been the best of SCF from my experienece!!!
PERFECT PLACE TO PURCHASE A CAR – I MUST SAY I HAVE BEEN WITH SCF FOR 3 ALMOST 4 YEARS! I WOULD HAVE TO SAY THAT THIS IS THE BEST COMPANY I HAVE EVER HAD TO DEAL WITH WHEN IT COMES TO THE PURCHASE OF MY CAR. I WOULD NOT CHANGE IT FOR ANY OTHER COMPANY. MOST COMPANYS WOULD NOT WORK WITH YOU AS MUCH AS THEY DO. WHEN EVER I HAVE A PROBLEM I CAN COUNT ON WENDY TO GET THINGS SOLVED AND GET BACK TO ME IN A TIMELY MANNER. I TOO HAVE HAD TO PUT A LOT OF MONEY INTO MY CURRENT CAR AND THE WHOLE TIME MY CAR WAS BEING FIXED SCF WORKED TO HELP ME BY LOWERING MY MONTHLY PAYMENTS. WITH ANOTHER COMPANY THEY WOULD NOT HAVE DONE THAT. THIS IS THE TYPE OF COMPANY I WOULD LOVE TO ALWAYS DO BUSINESS WITH AND YES I WOULD RECOMMEND SCF TO EVERY ONE. SCF YOU GUYS ARE GREAT!!!!! WENDY YOU ARE GREAT FOR ALL THAT YOU DO AND HAVE DONE FOR ME IN MY TIME OF NEED. I CAN COUNT ON YOU TO FIND SOLUTIONS FOR ME IN ANY SITUATION. THANK YOU SO MUCH. TIFFANYG
Great Company, Great People – I've had nothing but a great experience with Security Capital, all of the staff is friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Marylin Smith. She was able to work with me get MY vehicle paid off. Wonderful lady with a very positive attitude thank you. When i get another vehicle loan i'm going to ask for Security Capital, and Marlyn. Thanks
Bad Credit - No Porblem – Had I read some of these comments prior to getting a loan with Security Capital I would never have used them...I am glad I didn't. My experiences with Security Capital are the total opposite of the negative postings here. PEOPLE the financing company did not sell you the car, the dealership did if its a "POS" take it up with them. The dealership I bought my car through (Car City Superstore) promised free oil changes for the life of my car and then closed their doors without even a phone call but I still make my payments. Even with bad credit you have the right to say no, I am not buying that thing and even to have your own mechanic examine the car prior to buying it. If they won't let you do that, don't buy from them. You scream about Tom Martino but he tells people that all the time about used car dealerships. My husband lost his job and was out of work for three month, I kept in constant contact with my account manager Wendy and guess what, my car is still in my garage. I was never called names or made to feel like I was a bad person. It's about being an adult and communicating with the people you owe money too. The only even slightly negative interaction I had with this company was when my brother-in-law hung up on a lady named Pat because it was not the call he was waiting for and she got a little nippy and rightfully so...that's so rude! This company takes a risk by giving loans to people with bad credit, and in this economy that's saying a lot about them. Thanks Security Capital, you helped my family to obtain a good used car that fills its purpose! I will specifically be asking the next dealership I use if they use you and will get my loan through you again.
great company – I've been with this company since jan09 and i think they are great i had to pay late and they were very helpful. Like any other lender make your payments on time but they are understanding if you are late just keep in contact with them i think there staff is wonderful and i have enjoyed working with them keep up the great work SCF!!!!
Pay your bill, and you won't get harrassed – I wanted to make a comment in regards to Security Capital Funding.
When I first went to the dealer, I didn't know that they were sending me to a separate lender. The treatment I got AT FIRST from these people, I did not care for one bit. They were very pushy to get information that I was glad to give, but didn't know that I needed.
HOWEVER, since then, I have paid my bill on time, and I have not had any contact with them. I am very happy about that.
On a side note, the car I did get was a 1994 Honda Civic - this car has run GREAT. I've only had 1 minor problem - when I went to get new tires, one of the lug nuts broke completely off (the tire shop fixed it for free, though). It is even great in the snow. So, for all of you complaining about a POS car, then get a reliable car to start out with (& don't blame SCF because you still need to make payments for what you owe!).
