AMAZING STAFF AND PHYSICIAN!!! – Reading the review below this from Cheather - what a bitch!! People like this give excellent physicians and staff bad reputations. I have know Dr. Caplan since he started practicing in Denver so a lot longer than Cheather - kids get sick, if it is so urgent then take your child to the hospital and see what kind of wait you have then! As an adult you would think kids come first no matter what the wait is. Maybe the problem is YOU!! If you approach staff and physicians as an adult then you will get treated correctly. Dr. Caplan and his wonderful staff are the best!!!! I have never had a problem or issue. If you are looking for a physician who is always available night or day for his patients, who puts his own life after the kids he treats then you want Dr. Caplan. I don't know of any other physician who gives out his personal cell phone to parents so they can call him directly. I rest easy at night knowing that my children and my future grandchildren are in the excellent care of Child First Pediatrics!! It's also reassuri8ng that Dr. Caplan takes the time to teach "Students" correctly to ensure that our future children are taken care of correctly. I would be that the office is not loosing any sleep on having Cheathers leave the practice. I am sorry for who ever has taken them on as patient.
Childs First Pediatrics- Not Good!! – I've had alot of experience with Childs 1st Ped, mostly good, thats why I decided to choose Dr Caplan to start seeing my grandaughter since birth. She is now 7 months old. When she was born up until around 5 1/2 months old we were able to see Dr Caplan and he was very informative, great Dr. But now we NEVER see him for one reason or another. Its always the Nurse Practioner and the Dr's that are going thru training. So we have to see the "in training" Dr first so he can examine her then go over everything again with the nurse prac. It makes what should be a 15min appt turn into a half hour. Not fun when you have a sick baby who is very grumpy and you just want to get in & out. My g.daugher has had a lot of health issues since birth so I would like to actually see the Dr that knows her and is familiar with the issues that she's had in the past. But no, never see him anymore. And the staff at the front desk can be so rude! When we come in for an appt. they are talking among themselves and patients don't even get acknowledged, not a hello or please sign in- nothing. We've called to make an appt when she's been sick and they've been extremeley rude and a lot of the time they tell me they cant even get her in when I call for a same day appt and shes sick. Ive even overheard Dr Caplain argueing in the hallway outside of the exam room we were in. So the girls are even rude to him! I can't believe Dr Caplan lets rude people run his office and answer the phones. This place has gone down hill. We are changing Pediatricians. Goodbye Childs First!!
Child First Putting Children First? I think not. – Having an established relationship with Dr. Caplan for 25 yrs, I am extremely disappointed with the service, or lack of, that we received today. My daughter, age 24 was a patient of Dr. Caplan's since birth and now takes her children to this practice. Her 6 mos. old daughter had an appt. today for a check up and shots. She's underweight for her age, and Dr. Caplan has been advising as to her needs and diet because of this. We called on the way to explain we were running late due to unforseen circumstances and were driving 40 miles one way to get there. We were told by their anwering service the staff was at lunch and to "come on in." We arrived 15 min. late and were informed by the front desk that they were refusing to see my Granddaughter. I asked to speak with Dr. Caplan and he came to the empty waiting room, and rudely explained that he wouldn't treat my Granddaughter because we were late. I would have somewhat understood if there had been patient's waiting to be seen, however, both waiting rooms were completely empty! I have managed a physician practice in the past and understand that some patients are habitually late and if this were the case, could understand if they were attempting to make a point. However, my daughter had never been late or missed an appointment with him. We explained the situation and the immediate need to have the baby seen and weighed and still, he refused to treat her. I have spoken with several other physicians and patients, all of which have never refused, or been refused treatment due to being late to an appointment. We then asked for the baby's medical records and the staff refused to produce them, explained there was a $25 fee involved and that it would take 2 weeks to receive the records! They wouldn't even give us a copy of her shot records and instructed us to call the office manager. He was unprofessional as well, even after explaining the situation in its' entirety. Needless to say, Dr. Caplan has now lost 3 patients because of he and his staff's unprofessionalism and showing absolutely no concern for my Granddaughter's welfare. Further, it made no difference to him that we had been loyal patients of his for 25 years and were commuting 40 miles one way to maintain the relationship! I find it a joke that Dr. Caplan names his practice "Child 1st Pediatrics" as this is proof this is definitely NOT the case.
Best pediatricians in the world – My sister and I have been going there ever since my sister was about 2. Dr melamed has been a big part of our lifes growing up. The staff there is awsome. There extremely friendly. I highly recomend taking your kids to them.
Best doctor ever – We have been patients of Child 1st for about 6 years and i would not have it any other way. Dr. Caplan and Dr. Melamed are the best pediatricians a parent can ask for. They run a tight ship with very friendsly staff. They truly care about their patients. I recommend them 100%
Great doc! – Dr. Caplan is highly recommended. He is fabulous with kids, and they respond great to him. He will spend as much time as needed, and encourages us to call him with questions, even on off hours.
