I've been a regular customer at this salon since I moved to the area few years ago. All the ladies are super flexible and very nice! I work late and need to do my mani pedis before I go away for the weekend, but they will stay after closing hours to do the job. I also love getting my pedis here since my favorite masseuse, Theresa (ask for her if you like getting massages) will give awesome foot massages, and puts me to sleep! They also renovated this place recently so it's a plus. They do get very busy at times, so I can see why the other reviewers were unhappy. One time, I had to come back and tell the ladies that my color didn't look right on my feet, and they redid my toes without charging me. I've been to many other salons in and outside the city, but I really don't think their prices are outrageous. I just paid about $45 (without tip) at a local salon in DE (this is the state that's known to be cheap with everything!). I am happy to recommend this place to my friends and other people.
The employees here are nice but Erica is just the best. I am always satisfied when she takes care of my services and I leave as a very happy person! The store is pretty clean and recently renovated. I've read some reviews about walk-ins not being tended to but I think that's because of the lack of staff in this store. I've been a frequent here for years to know that the boss is just never around and I know who the manager is but she really doesn't act like one. Therefore, the employees need to do everything on their own so it makes it hard for them. Erica especially, is the one who's helping everyone out and trying to make sure everything goes well all around but she can only do so much. Over all, getting beautified here can be a good experience if you call ahead and be a little patient.
DONT-GO-HERE!! – TERRIBLE- a gel manicure listed on the spa menu was $25- but when I went to pay- they demanded $47- they said that the gel manicure listed was not for color. Color price was not listed on the menu or anywhere in the shop and not told to me when I asked for the service. Fyi, they are also terrible manicurists!!- every bad review listed here is true.
Worst nail rip off in town – Total rip-off. My wife went there for a French pedicure and a $25 chair massage. The bill excluding tip was $140. A French pedicure in town goes for about $50. She did not notice till she got home and reviewed the days bills online with Chase. Watch out for these cheats. When confronted they said that it was a "spa treatment". That's when they turn on the water jets in the foot bath. Avoid this place like the plague. They are liars and scammers of the first order.
horrible!!!!!! – $70 for a full set of nails! Are you kidding me? The first time I had this done they popped off within 4 days and I swore I wouldn't go back but I did... once again they popped off within the week! Their tanning bed bulbs are not changed on a regular basis and you can see the buildup of other people's sweat on the top portion of the bed where they have not cleaned the plexi-glass well (or at all) They are the poster child for poor service at a premium price!
TERRIBLE and OVERPRICED – i should have known something was wrong with the place when the manicurist asked me if i wanted my cuticles cut - having finished a major cleaning project last night, my cuticles were not fit for anything else. so i nodded, and off she went...cutting off something, not sure what exactly, but leaving most of the cuticle behind. if i wanted to soak my hands in a bowl of hot water, i could have done that without spending $15 for the privilege. i barely had time to make it to the office before the polish began to break off and bubble up, and they use essie, which even in my DIY attempts i've never managed to screw up too badly. pieces of not fully cut cuticle are left behind...i will never go back, and i suggest you go someplace else too.
Good service but high price. – Very courteous staff. I have done nails, facials and waxing at this place. I must say that I'm most impressed with their facials. It is very well-tailored on a visit-by-visit basis, they don't just recommend something you don't need and charge you for it. However though, I removed one star because they are expensive, even for something like facials.
A bit pricey, but worth it . . . – After reading the previous review I was a little apprehensive about checking this place out. However, I must say that I was pleasantly suprised . . . The staff was very nice and the girl did a great job on my nails. Yes, they are a bit pricey, but I was happy with my nails and I guess you get what you pay for. I would definitely go back.
This full-service downtown spa specializes in nail services (with 10 chairs available) and features three private rooms for body treatments. –
location great - service sucks – This place receives business because there is no competition! The worst part is the staff knows it.
