I went to Alfangi recently and love my hair result ! I got a voucher in Union Sq and it seemed like i got scammed. But no I was wrong, i only paid $ 15 for registration and i got some extra service as color. Only for that extra service i paid, blow dry haircut was for free. I will go next time for the spas part of my voucher.

I am very pleased with Alfangi and will continue to go back! I cant speak for everyone else but neither should anyone else. Go for your own experience if you have an opportunity. Im sure not every stylist is as great as mine (Cecila is just amazing) but the salon is nice my girl always has a ring of girls around her while we gossip and she works on all of us at the same time, shes also really funny and sweet, but more importantly my highlights and cut are always PERFECTION!!!!

I love Alfangi and have been coming for a little over 5 years now! I can not fathom some of these reviews, especially those who havent even visited the salon before for their own experience. I too first visited Alfangi on a promotion, it seems they continue these off again on again, but it was great! I received a bunch of things for a great deal and have always returned. Although my original stylist left about two-three years ago all the hair dressers seem to be confident and good at what they do, I am now with Celia who is incredible and and Ive brought friends over the years who go to Magalie for extensions (my stylist suggested her) and they also love Alfangi. Case in point its a great salon with a nice atmosphere and the staff is attentive and friendly. If you have a package at least try it or get your hands on one its worth it or just go check it out for yourself! I will always return and recommend this salon.

Rodrigo is very professional and knows exactly what to do with your hairs color and style needs, according to the frame of your face and skin tone. He's awesome with color and knows how to blend special lightening elements to create a beautiful highlight that's safe and natural looking. He uses a special mixing technique (with all natural bases) he learned in Paris France to distribute fierce but subtle highlights...go figure! I loved my experience at Alfangi on 5th and can't wait to see what I get next! Also, I want to add that the collagen and keratin treatments I received were very much needed and I'm glad I got them--little bit expensive for all three things at once, but it was so worth it and much needed. You get what you pay for in New York city; Rodrigo is priceless<3 I trust him with my locks; my hair has never been healthier; Thank You Alfangi Salon and Rodrigo Rueda. Understudy and full time stylist at Central Park Pet Spa, Hell's Kitchen NY.

I loveeeeee this salon and my stylist Celia! Such a beautiful place. They always try to accomodate the customer to the best of their ability (ex: offer drinks). The products that are used on my hair, always leave my hair smelling and feeling like a million bucks. The workers there always make conversation with you, and you never feel out of place. I have never gone to a different salon since I found them.

I guess when a salon has to go recruiting customers at colleges in a different state then it should be a red flag. Honestly though, I paid the $70 (this was 4 years ago) and thought it was a bargain. My hairstylist was the cutest asian girl. She have me a haircut, highlights, and the most amazing blowout of my life. It was the best my hair has ever looked. Besides me being happy with my hair though I don't remember if I had to pay any additonal fees. I probably did but I'm not sure. Anyway, all I have to say is that I absolutely loved the results of my hair.

NEVER NEVER GO TO THIS PLACE. I WENT OUT FEELING WORSE THAN I WENT IN, the only good service was massage provided by Ricardo. THEY PUSH YOU TO BUY HAIR COLORING EVEN IF YOU DO NOT NEED AND GET MAD IF YOU DO NOT BUY IT, THE MANICURE WAS THE WORST EVER, THE NAIL POLISH WENT DOWN RIGH AWAY AND DID NOT DRY!!! than they tell you pu leave 20 % tips of their "full service price". i wish I did not leave any tips at all. I will never go back to this place even though i still have services left that i bought, BUT I CAN NOT DEAL WITH SUCH A RUDE AND DISRESPECTFUL CUSTOMER SERVICE. TERRIBLE....... IN NYC, WHO COULD BELIEVE.

DO NOT GO TO THIS SALON!

I WOULD HAVE NEVER IMAGINED THAT A DAY OF PAMPERING WOULD END UP WITH 2 HOURS OF DISCUSSIONS, INSULTS, A POLICE INTERVENTION, AND WOULD COST ME MORE THAN $500!!!!

A friend of mine and I had two $70 coupons we purchased which included a short massage, a European facial, scalp massage, shampoo, cut, and styling, manicure, and makeup application and it turned out to be a $500 DOLLAR NIGHTMARE!

We had been waiting for months for our promotion, so we were very excited when the day finally came to go to the salon. We arrived, and it was sucky to PAY AN EXTRA "REGISTRATION FEE" OF $15 (making the coupons actually $85), but we've been waiting for so long we just wanted our pampering to start. Our massagist was fantastic, and I requested a full facial and got a discount on it because of the coupon I had. So far so good. But it doesn't stop there.

A NIGHTMARE:

Then we went to get our hair done. I asked about treatments, and they told be they costed $700 (which is INSANE for any salon) and that they would give me a promotion of 3 treatments for $300. I knew that was just too much, but I figured since they were all so nice, I could trust them. BAD IDEA.

All they did was wash my hair and spray it with some cheap product afterwards and that was it. My hair didn't feel nourished or hydrated AT ALL! I've been having all sorts of treatments ever since I went blonde more than 14 years ago, and this was appalling. Normally it takes 3 hours to make a treatment, it should be applied by sections, left at least 30 minutes for it to settle, and occasionally be left under the heat. This one was just sprayed on in less than 3 minutes. As for my friend, she specifically requested ONLY what was on the coupon, and she said it several times because she is French so just to make it perfectly clear, but they did all her hair with highlights which looked awful and got charged $300 for it.

I told them none of this is what we agreed on and that we wouldn't pay for any of it. Very politely we told them we are good customers and we were not looking for trouble, so we'd tip everyone well because they did treat us nicely, that perhaps something just went terribly wrong somehow, but that we would not pay for things we didn't request or for treatments which were a HUGE FAKE. We told them we didn't mean anything personal with them, but that we are good customers and in return we do expect them to be good business and therefore respect our concerns. We even tried to negotiate with them to come to an agreement, but that we would not pay such obscene prices for trying to rip us off. But they even started telling us But they just screamed at us, and insulted us, called us thiefs among other things, and CALLED THE POLICE!

We told them we are not robbing anyone, but we also don't want to be robbed from our money. After an hour of discussions, I just wanted to get the hell out of there so I just paid my part, because at least I did request a hair treatment regardless of the ˆ&*@#$ I got on my hair. I just blame myself for being so stupid in believing in the goodness of people and the professionalism of a 5th ave NYC salon. However, my friend was unwilling to pay for the full highlights she did not request, which seems reasonable. Until they called the police and forced her to pay and to settle the case in civil court.

I felt so bad for my friend, because the coupons were my idea, that I ended up paying her $70 for the coupon. So in total I ended up paying an outstanding $520, and the only thing I actually got from my coupon was a manicure and 20-min massage and a loss of respect for people.

RUN AWAY FROM ALFANGI !!!! I wish i could put no stars for their rating. :( :(

HAIR- I don't ever write reviews because places are normally predictable. BUT ALFANGI SALON FIRED MY HAIR OFF! My hair is so damaged now, it looks like I stuck my head in the toaster. I feel that no one in this office has a license to practice what hey are doing. I think they hire and train foreign people and pay them next to nothing.

MASSAGE- Also while I got a massage I happened to open my eye to see a huge bug crawling around. DISGUSTING... I was just starting to feel relaxed after my hair was destroyed. After that i felt so uncomfortable.... the person giving the massage was nice but completely unprofessional.... and felt like he was hitting on me the whole time.

PRICE- So at the end of the day I paid around 500 dollars to be dick-ed around. YUP!! The price list that comes with the PROMO is not the REAL price list. They said they changed there prices this year... well guess what we are 6 months into this year....I really with I could sue them.

Service- at least everyone was pretty friendly but as soon as I paid they treated me like dirt. They we constantly speaking another language right in front of me.
