We have an older Toyota truck and use it to haul hay and feed the animals on our farm. It started running bad and my husband checked it out and said we needed a new carburetor. We looked around on the internet and found National Carburetors. I spoke with Curtis in the sales department and he was very helpful. He said they would ship it out between 7-10 days. We received it and my husband put it on the truck and it ran GREAT right out of the box. We would recomend them to anyone that needs a carburetor. They were helpful and the price was much less than other places we looked at.
Beware of the company's vicious attitude in business practices. I ordered a remanufactured carb was defective twice and NCI strongly denied any craftsmanship errors. Their warranty is basically just a "declaration" to protect the company rights and totally ignores its quality control and consumers rights. No wonder it's not a BBB accredited company. If it's your only resource, try use eBay or Paypal for your won protection.
I just want to say, I just bought a carb. from National Carburetors and the whole experience was a 10 on a scale from 1 to 10. Carb. works perfectly right out of the box. Service was everything I could ever expect. THANK YOU NATIONAL CARBURETORS!!
Why read 6 or 8 reviews when you can read over 5000 on our Ebay page which are 99.4% positive at this time. See our feedback history at http://myworld.ebay.com/nationalcarburetors/. Also contact your local auto parts store who we have been supplying carburetors to for the last 10 years.
Purchased a Rochester Quadrajet that always had issues with a fading and rough idle. Determined the throttle plate bushings were causing a vacuum leak bad enough to eliminate the idle circuit. Instead of going the runaround from NCarb I had the bushings replaced for $30. Asked for a refund from NCarb .. not a chance.
Bottom line they don't have the expertise to do these rebuilds correctly. The quality of the carb you get depends on what they found in the trash to send you. Replacing throttle plate bushings correctly is the #1 thing you have to do when working with Rochester carbs.
I found an awesome rebuilder in Baltimore and he charges half of what these clowns charge and he stands by his work. Live and learn.
THE BEST CARBURETOR COMPANY IN THE US – My Company has been doing business with National Carburetors for over 50 years, and we buy around 20 carburetors a month from them, without any problems. So I am not sure why other people have stated bad things about them. They have aways been fair to my company. I have been in their factory many times, and they have 25 builders making over 200 carburetors everyday. that's over 50,000 a year. So I can uderstand being a business owner my self, a few bad review for that many customers is not bad. plus most of there people have been working for them for over 5 years, some as much of 25 years.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE GUYS !!! – Two years ago I bought a quadrajet Carburator for my 1974 Corvette from National Carburators. Had nothing but problems with the carb. Brought the Carb. back and they SAID they hooked it back up to there OLD wore-out crate engine that they run all there carbs off of, and said there was nothing wrong with it insulting me like I didnt know what I was talking about. I ended up buying a Holly from somewhere else and only got a core charge for my $191.00 carb. Two years later, I give them another chance with some fuel injectors. They told me 1 to 2 days. Brought them in on Monday morning, called on Wednesday, and they didnt even start on them. They had a "dont care attitude" so I said I'm coming there to pick them back up and want my money back (162.00). When I showed up they were rude, and when I told them I would never return they said GOOD! Stay away from this place. Go somewhere they will respect your business.
Please read – I bought a re-built carburetor from National Carburetors because they seemed to check out okay.
When I received the re built carburetor it had very serious problems. The choke did not work and the throttle STUCK OPEN.
I returned this under warranty, and received another carburetor after being out a tuck for a few weeks.
The second carburetor I received has another bad choke.
They sent me a replacement choke that was incorrect.
I sent the second carburetor back again for repair.
They keep promising me that the carburetor will be finished and shipped out by the end of the week. I have now been out of a car for 4 weeks total now. They promised to call me with updates and even took my phone number, but I always have to contact them.
I would Highly recommend taking your business elsewhere.
However they have been working with me to TRY to fix the problem.
Best Deal Around! – I bought a Holley marine carburetor from them. Love it! They told me to keep the receipt if I have any problem with it.
Great Company! – Great Deal! I bought Edelbrock for half the price of my local part store. My car never ran better. I am Happy Customer!!
