Short and simple - the only change that I saw in my lawn after treatment by Southern Green was Florida pusley which looks like little snow flowers. Don't use this company unless you are willing to be accosted over the phone for money. I like to pay for services received this month, not 6 months from now and several hundred dollars later.
I'm a realtor and I've had southern green my home and rental properties for almost 4 years. I've had the same technician since I started with them and he knows my property like the back of his hand and what areas will have issues during the season. My price has never gone up and I still don't have a contract. I recently switched my pest control to them as well because it was cheaper than any that I had found. I chose Southern Green after one of the larger companies nearly destroyed my personal lawn. I highly recommend the local guys over the corporate anyday.
Horrible!!! I would never use this company even if it was free. I am on their telemarketing list and they hire the rudest people. I explained that we already have a service which we have used for a number of years and are very happy with. I got hung up on!!! Sad that these are the people you hire to represent your company. And I get calls from them every few months and it's always a horrible experience. I have been asked numerous times to be removed from the list and it hasn't happened. STAY AWAY!!! Also check them out on BBB!!!
southern green seems to have a pattern here. wish i had seen the "F" from the BBB before i spoke to them. I received an unsolicited call from them stating they had been referred by our lawn service. they said they saw my lawn and it needed help. when i asked what they saw that was so bad, they responded with "what do you think your lawn needs?" really? you're supposed to be the experts. they said they worked with my service and would offer a discount. against my better judgement, i agreed to have them come by. a few days later, i spoke to my lawn service and they said they did not/do not refer to southern green. i called southern green and left a voicemail requesting them not to come by. i later received a call full of attitude asking why i was firing them. bob was very aggressive in his demeanor. when i told him my serviced did not refer him, he stated "who do you think gave us your phone number?" i don't know and,at this point, i don't care. bob attacked me for a few more minutes. even if i had wanted them, i would never have retained them after this call. when i advised him to cease all contact, he stated "that won't be a problem." save yourself some time and pain. call someone else. anyone else.
This is absolutely the worst company I have ever worked with. I have called several times to cancel my service after I received a threatening call from a representative of Southern Green about aerating my yard. When I declined, he asked me if I was stupid and started berating me. When I called the office, after the 15th time, someone finally answered and when I told her to cancel my service, she hung up on me. After calling back about 4 more times, I finally gave up. When they keep showing up and spraying my yard, maybe they will realize I have canceled when they don't get paid. Absolutely, NOT A COMPANY I WOULD RECOMMEND TO MY WORST ENEMY.
Thank you Southern Green for helping keep my lawn beautiful and healthy. We always get compliments from neighbors about how nice our yard is. It wasn't always so green and lush; but with some regular watering and Southern Green, it stays nice year round. Remember getting a lawn company isn't a magic pill; your yard still needs to be watered. You can't expect great results if you don't do your part.
I just has the same exact experience as Patricia D.
They came by and solicited me, and asked me to switch to them. I said I'd look into it and that I liked the price.
After they left I asked a couple of my local friends about Southern Green, and they had used them in the past with unsatisfactory results, so I proceeded to look them up on the BBB website...they are rated an F....as bad as it gets.
So when Bob contacted me to see about signing up, I said thanks but after further research I am not going to be switching. He got angry and said I'd have to call Richard and explain why I'm not going to switch. I told him no, I don't need to call anyone, I'm telling you now. He then got even louder with me and said that I HAVE to call Richard, again no I said. He kept pushing the issue to the point of me saying please don't call me again and I hung up.
Out of respect I did call Richard back and explain the scenario that Bob and I didn't see eye to eye and I was already unhappy with the customer service, he continued to push the point, I brought up the BBB rating, he said yes, that's correct we do have an F rating. Then he pretty much hung up on me.
Good luck to anyone that chooses to use these guys.
Southern Green's Tony and Bob had called repeatedly over the past several months trying to get me to switch over to their company. I wasn't thrilled with my service so said I would try them in September. After reading reviews, I called Bob back the next day and told him I was no longer interested. Bob was almost angry saying I promised them that I would give them a try. He told me he could not take me off the schedule so call the office. When I called the office, the guy who answered asked why I was canceling. I told them I had read reviews and just didn't want to switch. He was very nasty and told me that I would have to call yet another number to cancel. Thats when I told him I would not pay for anything and hung up. I couldn't believe their attitude!!! BEWARE!
Difficult to reach by phone, no web presence, unhelpful at best. No visible impact on lawn--unless you count getting worse. Avoid at all costs.
I used to use Tru-Green and my lawn looked hideous. One day, I got a call from Tony at Southern Green soliciting my business. I was going to look for a new lawn chemical service anyway, so I listened to what he had to say. He explained that Tru-Green is owned by a bunch of Yankees from up North, and that they treat lawns the same all across the country, without regard to Florida's unique and harsh climatological issues. As the local guys, Southern Green's program is specially formulated for our local conditions. Furthermore, Tony explained, he could beat Tru-Green's price by a large margin.
My lawn looks great! The technician is always thorough and helpful and takes the time to point out things that I can do to make the lawn even healthier. My weeds and bugs have all died and the grass is absolutely flourishing.
