To my former customers.
some of you whom relied on me as "your" A/C technician I am so sorry to have let you down and not continue providing you with service to the best of my ability! I am a former employee of W.H. Hearn mechanical of Tallahassee. I could no longer work for a company that did nothing but take all they can take from you and only authorized me to do the bare bones minimum for you and sometimes less! My hands were tied on a lot of the issues you may have had. I have seen this company fire technician for providing service the way I have for you (actually caring for you as the customer more than I car about their "bottom line"). although I understood that they were in business to make money having someones A/C system working in peak performance (or working at all) was just as important to me! I know that the only reason Hearn got repeat customers is due to the warranty co. some of you were repeat customers because of me! out of "professional curtesy" I would never say anything bad about the company while I worked there and hesitated on writing this I harbor no Ill will toward the company I felt it necessary to inform you as my former customers that I've done all I can for you and then some without risking my own families "financial safety". I currently work for a GREAT company now and hope some day that we may meet up again as your A/C technician. I'm sorry to you who know me but I'm almost embarrassed to have to put on my resume that I've ever worked at this company as long as I have with the reputation they've had, but I tried to rebuild they're reputation as best as I could but it was a one man uphill battle for the past 2 years and could no longer do it! The last time I have heard as they are no longer in business and that is the only reason why I decided to write my own review! again I hope those of whom liked me as their technician (and those of you who don't) I do look forward to meeting again some day and rebuild your trust in any A/C company!

RUN! Find another AC company.
Stay away from this AC company (you can ask your warranty company for another service company)- you are risking your check book! Our home warranty company hired them to come out and look at the A/C problem. (Sorry for the long details but you must not fall for their tactics!) WH HEARN filled our tank with Freon then 10 days later it was out. I had to call in another service call and they said someone would get back to me. I am happy up to this point, until I had to make 2 more calls to them to double check if I was on the schedule (which I wasn’t). Finally, after 6 more days in August of back and forth on the phone the service guy came out and said our A/C unit needed many repairs and recommended a replacement. He suggested that the 1st WH HEARN serviceman should never have put in Freon in the first place since we had several obvious leaks in our coils! WH Hearn was supposed to call in an estimate of our repairs to warranty company (didn't happen for over 1 1/2 wks again, we are talking AUGUST heat), a few more phone calls and 2.5 weeks later, the same A/C service guy shows up at my house at 3pm on a Friday to replace a partial A/C unit and said "Oh, I cannot do it today I need 2 people, I will have to come back tomorrow with more help (or maybe its Friday afternoon and you don’t want to do it!). Seriously, we are talking 3+ weeks without air in AUGUST!!! They did come the next day, 3 hours late, repaired everything they have quoted except the ductwork that they didn't need to move –which was confirmed by my husband. My husband crawled up in the 130 degree attic with the service guy before he left and asked about everything he did...and asked lots of questions about the services and parts that were put in and found out that they did not modify the ductwork at all. The service guy confirmed this and my husband asked him to write that out for us on the service paperwork (this was KEY!). If my husband had not crawled up in the attic that day we would be out another $400 just assuming that all work was done as quoted-basically stealing from us (ductwork is expensive). Before the A/C guy left, he asked us to pay for the full estimate/amount and that they would quote: ”reimburse us later for the ductwork ”. My husband said “no, I will pay you for all other amounts except the almost $400 in ductwork”. Basically, they wanted us to pay for excess repairs not rendered! The service guy called the WH Hearn supervisor and she threatened that if we don't pay the full amount quoted she was going to call the police. (SAY WHAT?!) We are standing there with a checkbook, wanting to pay for everything that was fixed and serviced and they threatened us with police! Reimburse us-yeah right? The Sup told us and the service guy that if we don't pay the full amount that she was going to have the service guy rip it all out. By the way, we ended up paying the full amount in a check and then called Monday morning to talk with the supervisor- they said no reimbursement is going to be issued that there was "labor" in the ductwork. OMG- Is that the way to do business? Very unprofessional!! We immediately stopped payment on the check (remember-we were more than willing to pay them for their services rendered!). Thank goodness we had the backing of the warranty company that magically got them to "change their minds" and saved us some big bucks.
By the way, service guys were in unmarked pickup trucks and no uniforms. Makes me wonder what kind of contractors they hire-very unprofessional. UGH- stay far away from this AC company there are too many good companies to choose from
Did not fix the problem. We had them come out a few times to try and fix our AC. The last time I was told the only thing that was wrong with our AC is that we needed to change our our high efficiency filters more often or buy the cheaper ones. That did not fix the problem and our AC unit has been acting up ever since. I called and left a message and they never returned phone call. Our last two electric bills have been around $250. This unit is running worse than before they came to try and make repairs a few months ago. This is an older AC unit but at no time did they recommend a new one be installed.
Great Company. This company came to my house thru my home warranty com to repair my a/c. Like everyone else, i searched their company for reviews. I was a little concern, but after the tech left, all worries went out the door. I am more then pleased with the service I received. During the summer i know they are busy, but the tech took extra time and explained some issues with me. I also had the same company out for my plumbing issues. This company is great. The techs, the office staff.......... WONDERFUL!!!
Burned by Hearn. American Home Shield (who would not take responsibility for their part), hired W H Hearn to replace our attic duct-work. My ceilings were ruined around ALL of the vents, when they reinstalled the duct/vent boxes about 2 inches forward and 2 inches over from the original placement. As well; when the dry wall they cut out was removed, the drywall paper was not cut correctly, basically shredding and ripping the paper and in some places pulled the paper back 6 in or more. Some were installed too high in the ceiling. Besides looking at this mess there are gaps to the attic. They sent one guy out to look at it and his comments were basically; "unacceptable, unbelievable, ridiculous", etc. I did not see him again, however in a few days they sent this some what rude and very intimidating guy out who looked at a couple of vents and said they were not going to fix it; they had to do what they did to install; finally advising I go buy some larger covers like the ones normally used for intake vents to cover the mess. I was very intimidated by this person which is why a couple of years have passed and I gave up the fight. The reason I am writing this now is because at the end of A.C. weather, right before this cold snap, my ceilings have new wet, stained,, and moldy spots caused by condensation dripping from our duct work they replaced. This is why it was replace to begin with because where it was not taped, wrapped, and secured properly; the condensation from the leaking colder air escaping in the hot attic seeped through the ceiling drywall causing wet, stains, and mold. Making it worse is having popcorn ceilings you can't just patch and match the spots. Hope this saves you a nightmare.
Outstanding AC & Heating Company. The serviceman, Carl, was extremely knowledgeable and very courteous and professional. There were no sales pitch because the company's work ethic speaks for itself!
Great service. Friendly service and they really know A/C. They don't try to up-sell you something you don't want/need. They fix what is wrong and no more. Would highly recommend W.H. Hearn to everyone!
