My pet family and I love Greenleaf. We have been going here well over 10 years when it was Aussie Animal Hospital. When it changed over to Greenleaf, many of the old and dear staff stayed. No place is perfect, but this place has been the best for Wattie, Jaco, Leela, Beebe, George and Moonbeam.
The epitomy of rude, careless, and negligence – As you can tell, the only good reviews were writen in 2008 and 2009. Any good reviews from 2011 review must have been written by the vet's office because there is no conceivable way that the review was truthful. I lived in South Beach and went to this vet because the prior owner of my pet treated his animals there. This was back in 2008 before Alex took over. At that time, it was decent. Not great, but not horrific. Now, it's nearly horrific. First, no matter what the situation or emergency, Alex has NEVER come into the patient room with me and my pet except for once, despite our many trips in there. One time my pet had serious stomach issues, and when I came to pick up my pet, the Alex rolled her eyes at me when I was crying because my dog was linked up to an IV. And the one time Alex even examined our pet, Alex's demeanor is so rude and hostile and sarcastic and demeaning that both me and my husband wished that she never even came into the room. She has never taken my pet's temperature during any other visit. She never checked her teeth or did any other kind of evaluation. In fact, the only conversation I have ever had with her before this crap exam, was when she demeaned me as she was letting me pick her up from the kennel. Basically, in the exam room the nurse helpers do it all. Alex just stands there with a rude look on her face and asks degrading questions, blaming me for the fact that my pet has stomach problems. They charge up the ass for services but provide absolutely NO service at all. I had to ASK her to take my pet's temperature and then she acted like she was doing me a favor. I asked her about whether my dog has possible allergies. The vet nearly rolled her eyes, as if I just asked her the most inconvenient and idiotic question. My husband was shocked, and leaned over to me later and said, why does this lady hate us so much? Lol. It was that obvious. She said, well pets can be allergic to anything, there is no way of knowing. THat was her answer. And that's obviously not true because their allergies can be determined. She didn't even give me a list of possible allergies that pets could have (i.e., chicken fat is a known allergen that is contained in many dog foods). In any case, I was charged $60 for a mere three minutes of time that the vet was in the room. She didn't do any examination at all. I had to ask her to apply the medication- which she did not do- she let the helper do it and was very rude the entire time. Also, the receptionist is also very rude. She scolds when you fail to make appointments every six weeks, without realizing that the appointments ARE SO EXPENSIVE AND WORTHLESS, that it makes no sense at all to make a follow up appointment. Why should I bring my pet all the way in the office, so that vet can refuse to even examine her. Then if she decides to do so, walks in stares at my dog, sits there like a silent bump on a log, refuses to answer my questions, rolls her eyes, and then walks out without taking her temperature or checking her body, or giving me any guidance or idea as to what is going on with my pet, and then be charged $60 for the exam,and then another $45 to apply the medication (the medicaiton that I am paying $37 dollars for separately) and having a helper apply instead of the vet. I can apply the medicaiton myself at that point. What's the difference? And why charge for it? Any way, since Alex came on board, we have been wanting to go to another vet and finally we found one.
If you want top of the line care for pets, GO to Greenleaf – I went to Greenleaf Animal Hospital and was amazed from the moment I first walked into it until the moment I left! The waiting area was beautiful and I was shocked when I walked in that it did NOT smell like dogs it actually smelled Good (I guess I assumed that an Animal Hospital would smell like animals-guess I was wrong). The atmosphere was very relaxed and my puppy seemed to love it. They have the cutest, friendliest hospital cat named Blue that played with me and my puppy while we waited. Dr. Conejos was very friendly and compassionate, she treated me and my puppy like we were very her only clients and also as if we were friends. Dr. C and the entire staff made us feel very comfortable. The staff took their time with us and explained everything that a first time "mom" should know. Then they sent us home with a puppy pack full of the information they spoke to us about and also free samples of shampoo, Heartgard, and food. I have already recommended several friends to them, and if you want your pets to receive the best care you will take them to Greenleaf Animal Hospital too!!!
