WORST CAB COMPANY EVER!!! RUN BY MORONS!! – I have used this cab company today for the very last time. I made a special request when I called to have a van cab come and pick up my lady and I as I needed to get my 55 gallon aquarium home. I was told that this would take a little longer than the typical car cab which was find as I needed it. Shortly thereafter, a REGULAR car cab NOT the van I had requested showed up. I told the driver I needed a van and he said he would tell the dispatch people. 30 minutes later I called back to find out the status, and the woman on the other end gave me nasty attitude about it. I called back in another 30 minutes and was given the same nasty attitude by the same woman. I then began calling other cab companies which apparently was a mistake because they all seemed to be using the same dispatch service. In short, I waited a total of THREE HOURS before I finally got pissed and told them just to send a regular cab. The dispatch lady told me that all of their vans had several bookings back to back which my driver(when I got one) told me was a load of stinking horse defecation . He said they had plenty of vans available but no one wanted to come and get us. I have never encountered such incompetence and a poorly run business in my entire life. I would rate this zero stars if I could but apparently I have to rate at least one. Even one star is more than these idiots deserve.

Horrible experiences – I have had countless incidents with this cab company. The latest one is one of the worst ever. Last night I used this cab to get a ride home from the airport. When I paid for the fare using a swipe of my credit card on their machine, the approval was sent and an authorization code provided. However, the driver claims that he needed to also imprint my card with my signature since the printer was not working. I did not feel comfortable with this since the charge was already approved and I check my account from my phone and saw the charge on my card. He said this is policy and called his company. The woman on the line informed me this was policy and upon telling her I was not comfortable and what other alternative could we investigate such as calling the card company or taking down my contact information but not my card imprint. She quickly responded she could call the cops if I liked that alternative. She said this is company policy and it is the law (I work for a Bank in the back office so I know good and well this is not the law - for all I know this could have been his girl friend with some scam to sell credit card numbers). BTW, I call the head of drivers and dispatch the next morning to find out this was not at all policy and all the driver needed to do is write down the auth code and a description that the printer was not working. He stated this is clearly posted for all drivers to see. This is only one of countless stories I can provide you on shaddy drivers of united cab - DO NOT USE THEM!!!

WORST CAB COMPANY – I am not one to go online and write reviews but I had such a horrible experience with United Cab I felt as if writing a review online was very necessary!

Saturday night we jumped in a United Taxi to catch a ride across town, about a 25 minute drive. The driver was such an awful driver I had to ask for a bag to throw up in bc I was so car sick. I then get home and run inside to get more cash. Meanwhile my friend grabbed all of our stuff out of the cab. I then paid the driver and walked inside. As soon as we shut the door I realized she didnt have my cell phone and she thought I had taken it into the house already. We immediately called the company to try to get a hold of the driver. This went on for 30 minutes that night and for two days following the incident. NO ONE was helpful. I was finally directed to Paul, in the HR department, who told me he would call the driver and try to locate the phone. An hour later I called to check on the situation and he basically told me he hadnt even called the cab driver and that he had more important things to do than to call around trying to find my cell phone I left in the cab. I was livid and asked to speak to someone above him about the matter. He then yelled over to a woman named Diana and asked her for her extension so I could talk to her. Shes clearly sitting right there and heard the whole conversation and had no problem with the way she was talking to me.

I then left for work and asked my mom to please call her and deal with it all. Diana then gave my mom the same lecture about "having more important things to do". When my mom asked who the owner of the company was Diana got very angry and told me mom she didnt know and that if she didnt it wouldnt be her business to tell my mother. I could not believe a company like this even existed.

Lets just say it took my father going down to Cass St. to sit there while they called the cab driver and located my phone.

I will NEVER again use this company!!!!!

horrible person – I took a cab home last night and when we got home I had lost my cash. I was flipping out, because I had lost money, and was getting ready to tell the cab driver to bring me to the 7-11 around the corner soI could get some when he got out of the cab ( he is three times my size) and started yelling and waving his hands hysterically at me, he wouldn't even listen that I was trying to tell him he needed to drive me to get cash. He then went after me! I was terrified and honestly scared, so I ran into my apartment, I think I left my phone behind in the process and he stole it from me. I had never been so scared someone would hurt me in my life. It was an honest mistake (I left with cash and I knew I hadnt spent it) and I was trying to rectify the situation, but he made it impossible

Better Off Walking – I have been using United Cab for almost a year with no problems....until recently. I call for my cab at least an hour in advance FAITHFULLY & normally, they have my information in the system so I don't have to repeat it EVERY time & there is a cab there a few minutes early to take me to work, which takes all of 6 minutes to reach. In the last few months I have had nothing but problems. I was quoted 15 minutes & after an hour was informed that a cab STILL wasn't even on the way yet. I cancelled the cab, the guy came ANYWAY, walked into my job (a busy restaurant in the middle of dinner rush) thanked me for wasting his time & stormed out the door. Another time, I called at 3pm to be picked up at 4pm. The guy came at 3:40, said he wasn't told about the pick-up time & told me if I wasn't ready he wasn't gonna wait. I told him to leave, & called back for another cab, expressing that I did NOT want him to come back. He came back anyway, didn't TELL them he was coming back & when I recognized his voicephone from the call, he ARGUED WITH ME THE WHOLE WAY TO WORK. The replacement cab called me as we were turning into my job & I had to regretfully inform her that she wasted her time. She was obviously irritated, & with good reason. The final straw was yesterday: I called a cab at 2:30pm to be picked up at 4, figuring an hour and a half would be sufficient time to get a cab to me. At 4:05pm I called back to get an ETA & was told, again, there wasn't even a cab on the way. At this point, I am LIVID. I ask the lady what I can do to avoid this in the future & was told that it is all a matter of whether they have cabs in the area.....really? Then you shoulda mentioned that BEFORE you told me you would have a cab for me at that time. I would rather catch the bus than deal with this company. Only a handful of the "drivers" DON'T scare the SH*T out of me when they are behind the wheel, some of them listen to stuff on the radio that is quite uncomfortable to sit through en route to my destination & if you aren't lucky enough to get Tanya or Monique when you call, then more than likely the dispatch person will be rude, short & nowhere NEAR personable. If they don't have cabs to accomodate the call, they should say that...now that I think about it, that shouldn't even be an issue! This is a HUGE cab company & I am giving you more then an hour to get to me! They could be in Fort Myers when I call & wouldn't be as late as they have been! Bottom line, DON'T GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS UNTIL THEY CAN HANDLE THEIRS!!

HORRIBLE Service – I am a rather fair minded person, and never write reviews - but my last few experiences with United Cab have been so horrible that I felt I should 'speak up.'

Every weekend, when I go out to bars (from channelside to ybor) I take a cab. It's $3 bucks per person.

My last experience involved being over charged and not dropped off where asked. I'm not a cheap person, I tip well above the 'going rate' however, when someone overcharges me for a service or product, I can't help but feel irritated.

On another occasion I did not have cash - the driver said that he doesn't have a credit card machine. I'm not naive, every driver should have a cc machine on him at all times. My friend traveling with me decided to have the cab drive to an ATM and pulled out cash for the driver. I was infuriated! This is absolutely dangerous! I later called United Cab and asked them if their drivers accept credit cards and if there is a machine in every cab - United Cab let me know that they accept credit cards in EVERY cab... just as I had thought.

As I read through the reviews, I see that many people have had similar experiences with this cab company. I will do my best to choose a better cab company in the future!

Rude and shady driver – After flying in past midnight, I walked out of the terminal only to see a United Cab sitting there. I verified with the driver first that he took credit card (as he loaded my suitcase into his trunk) to which he replied "YES". I then told him where I was going and he quickly reponded "no - cash only". I told him that I wasn't going to an ATM at this point so he can just take my stuff out and let me take another cab. He responded "Just get in the car".



After 10-15 minutes of lecturing me on how I should have taken money out of the ATM and paid him instead of using my credit card while driving me to the hotel, he pulled up at the hotel check-in and asked me again "So what will it be?" I thought I made it perfectly clear - but I responded again "Credit Card". He rudely sighed and threw a tantrum while getting a credit card slip out and made me wait in the car while he got authorization for the transaction. After he handed me back my card - he popped open the trunk and told me "Go get your stuff".



I have never in my life been treated in this way in a cab - and also at midnight - the last thing you would want to do (as a woman travelling) is to go and get money out of the ATM. I called their customer service to file a complaint and they told me someone would call me back the next day. Still waiting......



Apparently they don't care - given all the horrible reviews already posted. My hotel also doesn't recommend them because they've had horrible experiences as well. The driver's car was 544 - do not endorse this company and give them your business - take alternative taxis.

Terrible Service – Called for a taxi and waited - 20 minutes goes bye so called - was told a taxi was on its way...15 minutes goes bye...again call...again told a taxi is on its way...more time goes bye...call again...told it is on its way...Never came!!

Good Reliable Cab Company – I have been using United Cab for 19 years and have always found them courteous and helpful. Only one time out of over 200 times have they been late and that was only 10 minutes. I highly recommend them.

DO NOT Use United Cab, Tampa, FL – Got into a United Cab last night at TPA (Tampa International). Gave the driver the street address and name of the hotel I was booked into (Howard Johnson's SUITES, 3314 S. Dale Mabry). Hotels<dot>com listed the hotel as 2 miles from TPA. Fare was supposed to be $15. Driver insisted there was only one HJ, and took me to the wrong location. I gave him the address again... he feigned surprise and told me it would be another $20 to take me to a second address. When I argued with him, he charged me ONLY $23. The entire trip he gave me the song and dance about how broke he was, how few fares he got.

The hotel told me they have complained about this, over and over, to the cab company.

The shuttle is $12, barely half of what this lying, cheating cab driver charged me last night.
