Not impressed – The first time I saw Bliss, I thought it would be the place for me because it looked like a very sophisticated salon from the outside. What a let down.
I did go to the salon for a while and had one particular stylist in the time that I spent there. She was at least 10 minutes late everytime that I would go there. I got the same boring cut everytime that I went there even though I asked for something different from time to time.
The last time I went there, I didn't even get a cut. I went on my scheduled day and time but she told me I didn't have an appointment. She looked in her old book and sure enough, there I was. She hadn't transfered my name to the new book. I asked if I could still be seen and said I didn't mind to wait. She was getting annoyed that I was trying to ask for some help in front of the other customers. She was very rude and did not want to give me a haircut though it was her fault.
Like the other reviews, this was not a very blissful experience.
Wonderful Hair By A Wonderful Stylist. – I found Bliss after a long search for a new stylist. While I'm very paranoid about going somewhere new and getting a butcher job, I also hate when I see a new stylist and after a few visits end up with the same hair cut no matter what pictures or requests provide. This was never the case with Bliss.
I found them on citysearch and called to make an appointment with Julie. It is hard to get an actual person on the phone because of their limited staff/bustling business, but I've never had to wait long for a very friendly call back after I leave a voicemail.
During my first visit, Julie was very warm, friendly, and welcoming...which is awesome when you are a new client coming into a tight-knit salon (like me). She was excellent at understanding what I wanted, and more importantly, what I didn't want. I have very wavy and thick hair that doesn't always work with the short hair styles that I desire. I usually have to style the heck out of my hair to make it look decent. But Julie gave me the first cut that actually looked awesome even if I just washed and let it air dry. When I returned a second time she gave me a gorgeous cut with some dramatic bangs that any other stylist might have have toned down or botched completely. She is a great listener and is really good at providing a cut based on what the client is looking for. I never felt rushed, mistreated, uncomfortable or ignored. I hope anyone looking for a new salon will give Bliss a try. It's a wonderful experience for a great value.
*And for the one-star reviews. I hope people realize that 3 one-star reviews in a huge batch of perfect, glowing ones might indicate that a few people will never be pleased with anything, rather than the quality of the salon itself.
personalized service – Hi, this is Julie, co-owner of Bliss. I just wanted to thank all of our wonderful clients who left us such nice reviews. For those of you who left us bad reviews, I am sorry we did not meet your expectations. I would like to think of our salon as a friendly, and down to earth place. If you are looking for a Kenneths or Penzones, we are not that place! We are a very small salon (only 3 stylists) We do not have set hours, as we all book our own appointments. We can be much more flexable this way. We also work by appointment only, and usually book up at least a week in advanced. We all have at least 18 years of experience. If you are looking for a small personalized salon, please call us.
doesn't listen to client – I've tried many salons, and I cannot seem to fine one that I like. So through city search I found bliss. I was excited after reading all of the good reviews, but after going to bliss I was very disappointed. The stylist didn;t listen to what I wanted for my hair and did what she thought was right. I also felt rushed. Wasn't at all what I expected.
BEST SALON IN COLUMBUS – AFTER TRYING MANY SALONS IN MANY STATES, BLISS IS THE BEST. GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE FOR THE WORKING GIRLS, THE BEST COLOR I HAVE EVER HAD AND A GREAT CUT. JULIE MADE ME FEEL LIKE SHE HAD KNOWN ME FOREVER, AND REALLY LISTENED TO MY HAIR CONCERNS. I TRAVEL 2 HOURS FOR AN APPOINTMENT AND IT IS WELL WORTH THE TRIP. Best haircuts and color in town!!! – I've tried numerous stylists at numerous salons and was unhappy for a variety of reasons - not only my hair but atmosphere, lack of communication, etc. Then I met someone with the best cut and color I had seen in years. She referred me to her salon - Bliss - and I've been hooked ever since. I drive about 40 miles to get my hair done by Rhonda. I've never left less than blissful about my hair and the experience. There's a reason Rhonda is booked so tightly - she is fantastic with cuts and color - and very nice to deal with and talk with. I've never been happier with a salon!
Bliss is the BEST!! – I moved to Columbus over four years ago from Seattle. I had gone through a plethora of salons before stumbling across Bliss. I have been seeing Rhonda for over two years. From the first time I met her I knew she really cared about me. She listened to my concerns and my past experiences. She listened to what I had in mind for my hair and was open to give me suggestions. Thanks to Rhonda's wonderful creativity I LOVE my hair.
Recently I decided to completely change my color. Rhonda gave me her opinion and I chose to do what I wanted. I hated the color. I sheepishly called Rhonda the next day and she not only got me in within a week, she fixed it for free!! I am always treated well by everyone at the salon and look forward to my visits. Rhonda takes the time to get to know her clients which is why everyone always comes out of Bliss looking fabulous!!!!
UNblissful – After reading the reviews on city search, I decided to try out bliss. I recently moved to the Columbus area, so I needed a new salon. After speaking to the styliest on the phone, she told me she could do my cut blind folded because she's done it so many times. I was pumped to chop my hair off, and on the day of my appointment she cancled 4 hours ahead of time. Then we rescheduled for next week, and she told me for new clients she schedules extra time (1 hour instead of 45 min). She ended up not scheduling any extra time, and I felt rushed the whole time. I cut off more than 10 inches and was looking forward to giving my hair to locks of love. First the stylist told me you can't send colored hair in, which is untrue. Then she told me that it wouldn't be a full ten inches ( which is was). Being excited to chop my hair off, after the first main cut of all of the length, I asked to see my hair in the back. The stylist rudely told me that she "Didn't have time to show me every cut," eventhough I just asked to see the first one. I asked if I could part my hair in the front like I always do before she cut it, and I could tell she was annoyed. At the end of the cut, she rudely mentioned somethig about if I just let her do her job then my hair would be fine. I would have if she knew what she was doing. Her next client was there waiting well into 15 minuetes before I was done, and I felt very rushed to get out of there. It wasn't until I got home and realized how bad the cut was. I ended up getting it re-done by a stylist who is still in school and I love it. Not only was it rude service but the stylist was so arrogant she didn't listen to her client on what they wanted and just did what she thought was right! Not the experience I was hoping for...
Always good experience – I've been going to Bliss for years now. It is always the best experience while I'm there. Rhonda, Julie and Rick are always friendly and welcoming. Not once have I ever recieved bad customer service. Everyone is very easy to talk to. I've recomended Bliss to everyone I know and everyone has had the same experience. My entire family get's there hair done there. Keep up the great work.
Rhonda is the best!! – I live in NYC now, but I was a client at Bliss for three years. I could go to any of the top-name salons in Manhattan, but I still miss Bliss! Rhonda, my stylist, is creative, talented and fun. She always very patiently explains how she's styling my hair so I can replicate the look at home. She's great with all textures of hair, too -- she managed to tame my wild curls! Whenever I left Bliss, I always felt like a million bucks. Some day when I am back in Ohio visiting relatives, I just might call her up to see if she can fit me in!
