pizza and then beach – I don't like thick crust, but I dont like thin crust like a cracker either. Piccolo is the only pizza I've had that is just right.
We had half a fresca which is fresh mozzerella and basil, and half sole d'italia which is a regular cheese pizza with spring greens, proscuitto, and tomato and onion on top. It was an awesome mixture after being on the beach all day. And a new combo that I hadnt thought of before. It wasnt too greasy or heavy. Perfect. A little place like this should be on the beach. I guess theyd probably deliver to the beach anyway.
The best pizza? 5/5 stars? – Well I guess my review is going to mess up the suspiciously high rating of this establishment--or perhaps, my review will suddenly disappear.
I don't know how anyone can call this the best pizza in Miami. Honestly, I would rather a slice of Papa John's than anything coming out of Il Piccolo lately. The last time I ordered a barbeque chicken pizza from Piccolo's, I promised that it would be the last time they received any of my patronage. From the first bite it was clear that they ran out of BBQ sauce and tried to improvise with what turned into a vinegary nightmare for me. I could not get through a single slice because I thought I was going to gag from the smell. If you happen to like BBQ chicken pizza like I do, I recommend going elsewhere, say, California Pizza Kitchen, Cheesecake Factory, or even Papa John's before this place. All I can say is YUCK!
Another thing: I find it highly suspect that I am the only one complaining about being served a crappy pizza from this place.
Best Pizza in Miami – Me and my Girlfriend are pizza fanatics, she has tried every pizza place in dade and broward and Piccolo is the best for pizza, the sauce the cheese and any of the toppings you get are always fresh and taste great. I have tried a few of the paninis which you can get with wheat bread (pizza has a wheat option also) and they are really good too. There hasnt been one thing me or anyone else i know who goes to piCColo pizza hasnt enjoyed. Go try the pizza and you will become a regular. They have homemade cinnamon apple tart dessert and a choclate panini, and some other desserts too but the apple tart is my fave. the salads are amazing with the house dressing and some garlic rolls, you cant go wrong at this place and they deliver in the area. Go try the pizza at piccolo and you will never have to go to steves again!...unless its late night and your drunk (only because piccolo closes at 11pm)
enough to turn a vegan/carb-o-phobe into a pizza-vore – My friends and I were not going for pizza - we were going for salad. We had been at the pilates studio upstairs and were starving! I'm a health freak, and would never dream of going to a pizzeria, but we noticed the menu had some salads so we tried it....
From the outside it looked like a delivery place, but there was a small dining room so we sat-in.
My combo salad was as fresh as the ones I fix at home, yet the added pizaz of grilled eggplant and zucchini made it a treat. My 2 friends went for the pizza. They got half verde and half signature.
They were going on and on about how good it was, so I tried a tiny bite. Even though I am a vegan (no cheese) and don't eat bread, I have decided to make piccolo pizza my weekly treat. The wheat crust is a healthy alternative, and the cook tells me he can do cheese-less pizza (although - if Im going to splurge I say pour on that wonderful cheese).
My husband and kids look forward to our pizza night (after pilates bc I dont have time to cook), and think they are getting a break from all our healthy meals- but little do they know... this is pretty healthy indeed!
DEAR KETCHUP ENTHUSIASTS – Guess what? I wrote, it got DELETED(AND IT'S THE ONLY REAL REVIEW!!!) Okay, I notice a lot of seemingly FAKE reviews on here(that or a few of these customers had pies fall directly onto there crotch and have impaired them in there opinion formation)-Because for the first time ever(and living off 125th and Biscayne my entire life)-I decided to try this ridiculously low key pizza place. Well, the fact its named after the villain from dragon ball z should've been a tipoff of how the night would end.
A friend recommend this place (although later admits it was a dreaded recommendation from someone who knows someone who knows someone else.not good). So, we dial, order-and await this pizza that may hopefully save us from the same old pies of STEVE'S Pizza or (my favorite) Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. We decide to be bold and order the BBQ CHICKEN PIZZA.
FORTUNE DOES NOT FAVOR THE BOLD,my friends.Bascally, this is where things began to turn.
The moment we open the box,I notice an overpowering aroma of kethchup. No big deal, I think-they probably use alot of GENERIC BBQ SAUCE from a local wholesaler.I take my bite, and instantly realize these dirty addhole's are using 100% KETCHUP as there sauce.I don;'t know bout you, but have you ever taking a big mouthful of ketchup? It's not good, in fact, if you manager to swallow it-it gives you INSTANT hearburn. My stomach was ready to betray me, for I betrayed it.Had I known I was shelling out $19.00 for a big piece of bread with kethchup and melted cheese on it, I'd slapped myself in the mouth and stuck my crotch in a pizza oven.In fact, that probably would've produced a better pizza.
So, we try to eat as much as we can, rubbing the sauce ...excuse...me ...the ketchup on the box.But too late, the heartburn was already kicking in.So, Dear villianous pizza shop-your days are numbered.Unless I need to ever eat a giant hamburger, and the world has been rid of ketchup for some reason-I will never EVER eat there again.I will spend my days spreading the word of hidden away Pizza hellhole that will insult your intellgience and anger your stomach, and to avoid AT ALL COSTS-unless your a kethcup enthusiast. If you are, then-my friend, Piccolo's pizza is just the place for you.I dare you to delete this AGAIN.If you do, I will begin a campaign (with others).I ate at your place.I hated the food.It was OVERPRICED and disgusting.I have no internest whether you fail or suceed. My goal is to inform others. If you wish to have a good review, make better pizza, and never ever make something so awful I feel compelled to share my experience.
WOW, I wasn't expecting to be so Satisfied – I am from New York City so i get my pick of pizza and I love to sample pizza...
The pizza at Piccolo was exceptional. It seemed as if someone really cares about the ingredients and the way the pizza looks. I quickly got addicted to the pizza and went back several time while I was in Miami on business.
First visually the pizza was beautiful, my favorite is the Salad Pizza...
Secondly the ingredients danced on my taste buds I had to slow myself down while eating to remember to savor each bite!
Lastly the prices for the size of the pizza was extremely reasonable I would have paid double for a pizza so fresh and tasty!
Excellent work Piccolo let me know when you open in NYC!!!
Great Pizza! – This place is great, has great service and food. I Have not had pizza like this in a really long time , I consider it the best in North Miami for pizza. The ingredients on the pizza always taste so fresh. The calzone is to die for!
