Rude horrible service!! – I checked in my computer for repair on 1/3/11 and after a week decided to walk in and saw my computer on the check in shelf still. I asked the sales guy (Mike) why it was taking long and he said it was currently being looked at. I then told him I saw it on the shelf and asked why he said that. I asked for the manager and he said he was. After two lies I asked for my computer back. He then said quote "jesus f'n christ man" grabbed my computer and shoved it to me and said never come back. I will definatly never come back to that crap service ever!
worst service EVER – If i can save anyone from the experience I had, then this review will be worth it. Over the past year, I had spent over $400 getting various things repaired on my laptop. The first time it was ok, but my laptop came back with a melted spot on the outside case. I should have known then. No one mentioned it or apologized. But they did continue to tell me what a good deal I was getting all the time. Most recently they quoted me a price and told me the laptop would be ready on tuesday (after having it a week). I arrived tuesday and was told I couldn't have my laptop unless I paid DOUBLE the originally quoted price. I didn't have the money on me. When I asked to speak to the manager who quoted me the original price, no one could find him. When I asked to speak to HIS superior I had to wait and wait for him to be found and to answer the phone. When he was finally reached, he wouldn't come into the store but rang me on the store phone. Talk about customer service. He then proceeded to tell me that it was MY PROBLEM that I didn't have enough money and that I couldn't have my laptop back until I came up with it, or I could have it back broken. He was shouting and talking over me so I finally just hung up. When I asked to speak to the OWNER, i was given the run around. Finally my husband rang the owner who told him that this was my problem and to take my computer and get the hell out of his store. Wow. I mean, wow. Unbelievable. Needless to say, I did. I took it to another IT tech who told me that since they made an installation mistake in the first place, the repair should have been FREE. As a courtesy for inconveniencing me so much, (as I had no laptop for over a week and I use it for work and also driving to the store multiple times. ) Also the new IT tech told me that it didn't need a new hard drive but that they had installed a corrupt version of windows which was what was causing all the problems. I am SO glad I didn't give these people any more money. They are rude, incompetent, ungrateful, and in general, BAD BUSINESS. If I can save just one person from going through what I did, then this long review was worth it. Thaks for taking the time to read it. And also, I am not some rude or demanding customer. I work in the hospitality industry and have done for many years. So I am consistently polite, understanding, and patient. Their behavior towards a customer was uncalled for and completely out of line. in short, DO NOT GO HERE.
Commitment – I ordered something from the store and they sent it out that day. Unfortunately, I never received it and called a week later. Without hesitation, they heard my story and sent me the item again. I heard from them a week later and they told me that the item was returned to them by the post office, because the address was incorrect. The moral of the story is that they were committed to my satisfaction and now I will only use them for my computer needs!
BEST IN THE BAY – NEVER HAD ANY ISSUES ON MY COMPUTERS ALWAYS FRIENDLY AND GIVE GOOD QUALITY WORK NEVER BAD BUSINESS UP FRONT AND HONEST TO THE POINT SERVICE. AND THE COMPUTERS ARENY BAD LOL
Outstanding service and professionalism – I purchased my first laptop from MIT computers. Not only did I get a good deal but I also got a great computer that fits my needs. The employees there really possess a great deal of knowledge . If I have a question or need or any assistance, they were able to assist me in a timely manner. I highly recommend MIT computers for anybody who needs a new computer or is having an issue and needs it fixed.
OUTTA THIS WORLD – What can I say I go to them for ALL my computer issues!! I am soo happy to see that they are EXPANDING! I started out at the one over by USF (which by the way is great for a student like me!) and now I see they have locations in every part of Tampa!!! I love that they let you know immediately whats wrong and what it will take to get it fixed!! I mean who doesnt LOVE that when you have a term paper due the next day!! I would recommend them to all my friends and family!!!!
Would recommend to everyone – I brought in my computer to this store frustrated, because a virus deleted my operation system. An associate named Mike helped me. He is the most knowledgeable person associated with computers that I have ever met, and I've worked in computer retails. I am so glad I went him I have dealt with Geek Squad and firedog when they were around, and I never received such good service as Mike gave me. He restored my computer quickly and without hassle. Thank you Mike, you deserve a raise!
Thanks a bunch!!! – This place is great. I've needed computer assistance over the past few years as I've been through 2 laptops and every place I go to tries to rip me off. Because I don't know much about computers, I never knew what things were necessary to make my computer run efficiently, or what was a good price to pay when I needed upgrades or repairs. What a sigh of relief it was to walk into MIT computers. I always go there and get great help from a guy at the front counter named Mike. I've told him about my past experiences and come to find out I've wasted tons of time and money going to those other places. I always walk out with my problems solved at a great price I might add. Definitely go here if you want knowledgeable staff that knows what they're doing. They're extremely friendly and I trust they will take care of me whenever I walk through the door.
Got my moms computer fixed – So awhile back my mother was complaining about her laptop running slow. She has a Compaq SLT/286 running windows vista. Apparently there was some malware on her computer. My mom had tons of family photos she did not want to lose so I figured I would take it in to the experts. I took the laptop into Mike at MIT. It turns out we would need to reinstall windows. Got it done at a great price. Picked it up the next day
