HORRIBLE! – Oprah has given these people way more credit than they deserve. Hopefully I can save you from a bad experience.
Intimacy has the worst customer service. They never answer the phone or return calls/emails. When I went into the store, I was told that the wait would be 30 minutes, and over an hour later, I was put in a room to wait 15 more minutes. Over 2 hours wasted. And for what?
Save yourself a trip: Have someone be rude to you. Throw $100 in the trash. Get a bra with a smaller band and a bigger cup. ~
Best Place EVER for Bra Fitting – I used to work in a lingere job, so I thought I knew it all about bra fittings and measuring. WRONG! The folks at Intimacy were able to correct my size just by looking at me in my bra and sans the bra. No touching needed. No tape measure. If you are normal, this only takes a minute. If you are a neurotic freak terrified of salespeople, then you shouldn't leave your house. But for the first time I bought bras that fit properly, improved my posture, profile and made me look better in my clothes. Intimacy is an amazing store.
Bad experience – I've also had a terrible experience at this store. During my most recent trip, I asked the salesperson to recommend an adhesive bra. She recommened one with a closure in the middle. I wore the bra for about an hour and, much to my embarrassment, the closure broke off and I was unable to wear the bra. I tried to return the bra to Intimacy, informing them that the bra was clearly defective and asking for either a store credit or a refund of the $60 the bra cost. I was told in a rude manner that the store did not accept returns and that per "government regulations", it couldn't accept the return. While I realize they could not re-sell the bra, the store could have easily remedied this situation in a better way. I asked to speak to the manager and the manager refused to speak with me. I used to spend about $1000/year in the store, and will do so no longer. I normally do not write reviews, but felt that this situation warranted one. I do not recommend this store to anyone. I would recommend a store like Nordstrom, which has a much better return policy and better customer service.
Pushed over and Pushed out with ill fitting garments – This was my first experience getting a professional fitting. I decided to stop by Intimacy after hearing commercials, accolades, etc, but as soon as I entered the store, I was immediately whisked into a dressing room, where a speed talking, extremely crass, pushy woman attempted to break me of all my "insecurities" in 5 minutes. I felt highly pressured to know how the "correct" bra should feel, while standing with hardly any clothes on, in front of a stranger, as she continued to pressure me to try on garments that were completely abject to my realistic needs. I don't know if the crassness of the sales woman was her way of trying to make me more comfortable, but it was a completely demeaning and degrading experience.
It was a completely whirlwind experience that left my head spinning, but I settled for 3 pieces (which cost nearly $400), signed the receipt and walked out of Intimacy, reading at the bottom of the receipt , the "no return policy".
I don't seek out writing bad reviews, I am just astonished at how this experience, which I perceived from all the hype out there would be supportive and nurturing, turned out to be calloused and sour.
Not what it's cracked up to be... – A friend heard about Intimacy on Oprah. She made an appointment for a fitting. The consultant NEVER measured her but rather looked at her and told her what size she should wear. She said the woman was very snotty, for no reason, and dismissed questions. When my friend questioned the size she recommended, the response was "if they stretch out after launderings, bring them back and we'll repair them". This shop is NOT recommended.
Every woman deserves a custom bra fitting! – Two weeks before Christmas, Oprah promoted Intimacy Boutique. We were travelling from Florida through Atlanta heading to Virginia for the holidays. I decided to stop in at the Phipps Plaza shop to replace some of my exhausted undergarments. My experience was fabulous! I was a walk-in on a Sunday afternoon when they were offering bra custom fittings. I left my cell phone number because there was about an hour wait. Within about 30 minutes, I was called to come into the shop. Angela was assigned to help me. Her first comment was that I wasn't too far off in my size; but that what I was wearing was showing 'fatigue'. She made suggestions for size and style, asked lots of questions to ensure that I received all the styles I needed - which included everyday wear, sports bras and something pretty. She showed me how to adjust the fit of straps and back and how to bend over to fill the cups! Then she left me alone for a few minutes to 'play' with the many styles she brought me. I had a ball. Made my selections and even got to wear one home! Everyone in the shop was courteous and helpful. Every woman deserves to treat herself to a trip to this boutique. I left feeling perky and pretty - but I resisted the temptation to flash everyone on my way out!
Snotty, Dirty Lingerie Store – I can't believe Oprah recommended this place. The salesgirls are rude and snotty, the fitting rooms are dirty, and I had an overall BAD experience. They are very pushy, and loud. I heard the salesgirls talking about other customers in the store while I was checking out. I don't recommend this place at all.
Horrible – I just had a horrible fitting here. My salesgirl was pushy, didn't solve any of my problems, and "threw in" a bottle of detergent that I didn't ask for and then charged me for it. I will never go back and don't recommend anyone else go either. The entire atmosphere of the place was snotty and it was all about how to get money out of you.
