Pharmacy service really slow – Here is my problem.
On 7/11/07 I arrived at your St. Helens Store at 8:50am, the pharmacy opens at 9:00am and there was one very nice little old lady ahead of me. We talked as we waited for the pharmacy to open we were talking and the subject came up that since we were the first two people there that we would get served in a timely manor. (By the way, she was picking up meds that she had to take for a Dentist appointment early that morning and needed to take them by a certain time for them to be effective). We were both in shock when we were both told that it would be an hour before our prescriptions would be filled. I do have to say that we did not expect 10 minute service because we had both experienced exceptionally long waits to pick up RX?s in the past in your pharmacy. I have never gotten my meds filled in less than 50 minutes at your store. . I finally got served at 10:07am.
1 Your pharmacist could be exceptionally disorganized and is incapable of running a pharmacy.
2 Your pharmacy staff could be totally incompetent and incapable of operating your pharmacy.
3 Your pharmacy is undersized, poorly designed ergonomically so that the work environment is incapable of supporting the amount of business it generates.
4 Your Pharmacy is severely understaffed for the amount of business you conduct. This is a very serious problem, if the Pharmacist is pushing just to keep up how can he give his full concentration to his job. To me that is equal to flying in an airliner with an overworked and overstressed pilot, either one is a fatality waiting to happen.
I honestly believe that your staff is well trained and are as professional as the situation allows, but the products that these employees of yours are dispensing can very easily be mistaken for another that could be fatal to your customers. If you are going to operate a pharmacy you need to scale it to the demand of your customers. The potential for disaster is too great for you to ignore.
