yummy! – i went here with a few of my friends and the food was hot and tasty, the bread was made of a whole grain for those of us that are "bread" shy (health wise) and the waiter was so friendly!
not worth it – i love ethiopian food, but this has got to be the worst i've ever tasted. many of the dishes were watered down and the injera was more like a crepe. just not what i was expecting. i
f you're a fan of ethiopian food, check out the san rafael cafe. they have a vegetarian platter for $4.00, and it is just unbelievable! Trust me you will be hooked
Mudai's Facelift! – If you haven't gone to Mudai lately, you should pick a nice summer day and treat your tastebuds. They've remodeled their interior, as well built a 2nd story deck and added a full-service bar!
Great Find! – It's a hole in the wall for sure... the decore is lacking but the food and the friendly service make up for it. Lots of good vegetarian dishes. They do give you a fork to eat with, but don't use it! Eating with your hands is half the fun!
Nobody's reviewed this place yet?! – I went to Mudai for the first time with a good friend who's been there several times. I'll be the first to admit I'm culinarily shy; I have a profound dislike of many cuisines that are enjoyed by most others. However, I have to say that Mudai is excellent! Our waiter (who was a big fan of my companion :)) was attentive and helpful, and the food was plentiful and mouth-watering (quite literally; the spices are intense). Ambience gets a boost because it's a hole in the wall but takes a hit because it's a hole in the wall, and the musical choice (Kenny G) had me wondering, though I was assured that wasn't the norm. All in all, a worthy experience.
Full of flavor! – I love Ethiopian/Eritrean food and have eaten it on both coasts. Mudai is wonderful, especially the dishes with berbere sauce. I prefer hot, so definitely avoid the berbere if you don't!
