Great food - fun atmosphere – We went on a Saturday night. I highly recommend reservations as even with a reservation, we were seated 30 minutes after arriving; however, while waiting for a table, we ordered drinks from the bar. The bartender was very friendly and the service was quick. Lots of LSU fans at the bar and everyone seemed to be having a great time. While waiting, Chef Henry also came out and greeted guests and checked on the service out front.

Our server was Britney. Although my husband gave her a bit of a hard time, she was great. The service was quick and friendly without hovering. We started dinner out with the Hot Chili ?Gator. I?ve had fried alligator before, but it was chewy so I wasn?t looking forward to the gator at Henry?s. I was pleasantly surprised. The strips were very tender and the sauce was great. My husband thought it was a bit too salty, but I think they were perfect. It had just the right blend of sauce and heat. We also tried another appetizer, but for the life of me I cannot remember what it was?.

My friend ordered the gumbo and wasn?t too impressed. We also ordered the Caesar salads which were citrusy, but pretty much lacking in any other flavor.

For dinner, we tried the Louisiana Ooh La La with both crawfish and shrimp. The sauce was a thick cream base served over angel hair pasta. Although the taste of the sauce was amazing, it didn?t pair well with the angel hair. The angel hair seemed to soak up the sauce and turn into a congealed mass. It would?ve been much better over a linguini or fettuccine noodle ? something that can hold up to a cream sauce.

We also had the blackened filet mignon that was on special that night. It was served with a mushroom bourbon sauce reduction and mashed potatoes. The filet was done to perfection. It was one of the best steaks I?ve ever had. The sauce was perfection and didn?t overpower the meat. Even the potatoes were wonderful. I would definitely order it again.

We?ll go back ? definitely.

Unreliable Catering and Unethical Behavior – I had always loved Henry's food, so I asked them to cater my wedding in July of 2007. They provided me with the menu options and the price per guest after a while, and I said great...please send me a contract to sign....And they never sent the contract to me, but we had lots of conversations about it over the past 4 months. And now on November 26th, 2007...4 months later they called to tell me that they got a better, bigger offer, and "we just don't have the man power to do both"....Thanks for dragging your feet for 4 months, and leaving me high and dry to find another caterer...I hope there is a good one left at this point!!!!!!

I'll never go back....You just don't do people that way! A verbal agreement should be just as good as a written one. Henry....you are only as good as your word! Shame on you!

CAJUN FOOD ------- O T P – Great food - great low key atmosphere --

our wait staff was incredible - and even Henry's bad pants selection didn't set us off from the food

Flavors spot on. – Went there for a lunch on 08/02/07. Ordered the Oh-la-la and the Bayou Cake (lunch, not appetizer). Being somewhat a culinary aficionado, it takes a bit to impress me. I do have to say this place was definitely on the list of better places to eat in Acworth and the general surrounding area. The prices are reasonable and the food was spot on -- all the people who claim to 'know' what Louisiana food is supposed to taste like and then turn up their nose at this place don't know what they're talking about. They do have a few classic dishes and some nuevo-cajun stuff, which I particularly enjoy. The cake was tender, the seafood was fresh, and the seasonings weren't overpowering -- they added a nice depth of flavor and plenty of warmth. The service was polite and very attentive -- my drink was never half empty.

This place is definitely worth stopping by.

Good Food, Great Prices – This was 3 weeks ago so it's not too fresh, but 1 reviewer is correct in saying the selection of true louisiana cuisine is limited. Mostly a Southern favorites menu. But I have to say the food was extremely good and the portions adequate. My date had the etouffee and I the ooh la la. The prices can't be beat. Service was very good and slightly informal which I prefer. Just a bit on the noisy side from the size of the crowd. After the meal, the cook, I assume owner, maybe Henry himself, came out to greet us and check about the meal and service. I consider this to be a class act.

Henry's of Acworth – Henry's may not beat a "real" cajun restaurant from Louisiana but it's pretty darn good. Monday nights are your best bet for prompt seating. Get there before 6PM or after 9PM. It gets crowded in between. Personally, I think the food could use more spice to kick it up a notch.

Henry's is an Acworth Favorite!!!! – It couldn't get any better if you were in the French Quarter in New Orleans. Henry's is the best! Great Food, Cool bar, fun atmosphere with friends and family.

Finally! An authentic Louisiana restaurant – We tried Henry's at the recommendation of friends (several in fact) and were very pleased. My husband is from Lafayette and this is the first place he found 'like home'. They have a kid's menu with coloring contest to keep them entertained and a lively atmosphere that complements the great service But best of all was the excellent food! We tried the gumbo, etoufee & ooh la la. We met Chef Henry and found him to be very friendly and knowledgeable. We made reservations and it was crowded so this is recommended. A must try it kind of place!

You have got to be kidding! – I was born in New Orleans and this restaurant in my opinion was a big disappointment. The portions are small and the food is mediocre. The restaurant has terrible ventilation and smells like someone poured seasonings in the vents. They buy their food at Publix (yes, a waiter told me this one b/c I told him the food didn't taste fresh) and cook it in spices and call it Louisiana style. Everything is small, small portions, small shrimp, small oysters, and small crawfish. However, the price compared to value is just not there. Sorry! O.k. so, a lot of people who aren't familiar with Louisiana food like it, so maybe if you have no expectations of what real Cajun food should taste like, you probably won't be disappointed. If you're from New Orleans or any part of Louisiana and you want fresh quality seafood, you won't find it here. Sorry!!!!
