This cheerfully-crowded little downtown deli has a long lineup of from-scratch soups, but like most people who’ve ever had a spoonful pass their lips (particularly when feeling under the weather) I’m keen on the signature Mama Leone's chicken soup.

The two things I love most under one roof: Hard boiled eggs and macroons for less than a dollar. Try 1 of the weekly meal specials that include an entree, side and salad, or fanciness like Jambon et Fromage.

This expensive little deli is the full-service lunch spot downtown. Coffees, chocolates, cold cooler with pre-mades, and a hot line. It's like shoving the best of New Season's in a closet and plopping it in city center.

yum – The food is good and tastes like it's homemade. The only problem is the price.

Yum but $$$ – Love the Caprece Sandwich (tomato, mozzerella, basal)

The price is a bit high, but sometimes worth it ;)

Pricey Sandwiches and Water – Stopped by Flying Elephants for a quick lunch on a weekend. I thought it was odd that the prices weren't shown on any of the foods, but I didn't think too much of it at first. How much can a turkey sandwich and bottled water cost right? Well when I went to pay at the cashier and the total cost came out to over $8, I felt very cheated. I wouldn't have minded the cost had the turkey sandwich tasted on par with something that costs over $5, but it was small and pretty average. It's something I could have made at home with Wonder bread, lettuce, mayo, tomatoes, and turkey slices. That's it. That's all that was in the sandwich. Needless to say, I will never be going back to Flying Elephants. If you're looking for a good sandwich at a reasonable price, go to Grand Central or Paradise Cafe and Bakery.

Great Takeout Lunches... – Elephant's is great quality food for the masses. While it may be a few more bucks than grabbing lunch at a sidewalk stand, it is definitely worth the treat occasionally. Their Tomato Orange soup is to die for, and goes really well with a Grilled Cheese sandwich on a rainy day (or any day, for that matter). If you're working late, stop by after 6:00PM for half-priced sandwiches to go, which is a good way to grab a bite to eat on your way home. The coffee is good, the salads are good, and the soups are good too. It is disappointing that they do not serve the fresh pizza's here that the main Elephants on 22nd does.

Editorial Review by Citysearch Editors – Over 20-years, bakery and deli offers breakfast pastries, oatmeal and parfaits; lunch sandwiches, soups and salads. Catering and baskets available.

Flying Lunch Eaters – At first, you dont know where you are supposed to get your food or who will take your money, but its worth the confusion. For one, you get a chance to see the whole deli and what they have to offer. Secondly, the clientele is chic so you get to look or be seen depending on which is more fun for you. Their selection is diverse enough to please most palates. Everything Ive had so far has been fresh and delicious. At lunchtime youll see the apparently busy businesspeople who have to appear as if they are rushing even though they are sitting there longer than I. Bright, clean decor. Bon appetit! Or Buon appetito.

They've got it all, including high prices – This is a great place to grab a quick lunch. The sandwiches are delicious, and they have great stuff from the bakery. Only problem is that you have to pay about $5.75 for a small to average-sized sandwich. Seems a bit excessive. Cute atmosphere though. I still eat there frequently when I want to treat myself. :)
