Mark Patrick now works at Jester's Court Tattoos in South Side! Not only is this experienced artist talented but he is also dreamy!

BEST TATTOO EXPERIENCE POSSIBLE – My best friend and I decided to get matching tattoos to memorialize our love for Harry Potter the night of the last movie. Because this would be both of our first tattoos, we decided to do some heavy research. Her uncle highly recommended Jester's Court, which was the first place we looked into.

Most of the reviews made us more than a little skeptical, but we decided to go visit the place regardless and check it out for ourselves. From the moment we walked in, we received great service. As walk-ins, they took down our info and agreed to call us as soon as there was an opening. We only had to kill time for about an hour (which is EXTREMELY easy to do in the south side) and when we came back they were ready to take us. Michael Patrick did my tattoo exactly how I hoped it would be... no, in fact it ended up being better than I could have imagined. He was funny & conversational the whole time & I cannot understand how he could have received poor reviews from anyone else. I was really nervous, but he managed to make the whole experience fun & enjoyable and most importantly, I feel like this new, permanent part of my body was done perfectly and precisely to my wishes.

From sanitation standards (everything was new and unwrapped in front of us) to the atmosphere to the artist, everything about Jester's Court was AWESOME!

michael patrick = terrible tattoo 'artist' – i went here under the reccomendation of a good friend. i wanted to start a full sleeve. i met with michael patrick & had two sessions with him. i tried to contact him several times to schedule my next session. he didn't even have the balls to return any of my calls. it's pretty sad that the 'artist' who started my sleeve couldn't even finish it. the work he did do was very spotty & i had it redone. i ended up going to crayons & thank god for devin, he did a terrific job. i can't speak for the other tattoo artists at jester's, but AVOID MICHAEL PATRICK LIKE THE PLAGUE.

Good not great, but better than most – Sean did a tat for me and aside from a heavy hand he added shading that I didn't want or ask for nor was it mentioned or present on the sketch he drew up. I wouldn't have cared as he knows what looks best (as the artist) BUT it was grey shading behind relatively small black lettering (each letter is about the size of a dime), which made them very hard to read. I wasn't thrilled about something being added to my body forever w/o asking.

Michael Patrick had a very poor attitude as well. Short answers, very closed lipped, distracted and overall unwilling to elaborate on anything from art, price, process or availability - giving off a very unsure feeling to me about...well...everything.

Patrick proceeded to talk loudly to my artist during my tattoo session. In a supposedly sterile environment, it wasn't very reassuring to have him leaning over the cubical walls that separate artist spaces, have him coughing and listening to him speak of unprofessional personal things like relationship issues and smoking pot while minors are present. When you can smell and feel his breath (once again in a supposedly sterile environment) when he isn't the artist working on you, he's too close. I felt like he was talking through me to get to the artist working on me who seemingly just wanted to concentrate on the task at hand - the tattoo that I am paying and tipping for.

If I were to return, I wouldn't go to Sean (despite his many success) or Mike Patrick.

I have certainly been treated worse in other shops, but the overall feeling of "settling" is present.

These artists are settled, used to what they do, and do it fairly well and therefore little things that you become desensitized over time to, BUT are absolutely crucial for people entering your shop to see just isn't executed.

With a little self conciseness work and a little professionalism update, they could easily be the number one tatto shop in Pittsburgh.

Great, Reliable shop. – After being shafted at another shop (the artist didn't show), I ran to Jester's Court to see if they could squeeze me in for a tattoo. I got great service and was taken in the next day. I think it was obvious how upset I was to lose my first appointment (which I waited a week for). The best part is that my tattoo is even better than I imagined it would be. And, the work came in over $150 cheaper than the quote I got at the first shop.

Rick worked with me and was an awesome, helpful person. I'd recommend him to anyone.

(By the way, I was in the Etna shop for this, not the South Side.)

Nightmarish. – I had a horrible experience at this tattoo shop. The "artist" rushed me through the entire process, and gave me pathetic excuse for a tattoo. It only took him about 3 minutes, and once it healed, parts had no color, the outline wasn't finished, and it looked a mess. I ended up going to American Tattoo in Vernoa to have it covered up and done correctly. Chris Roseone worked on it for about an hour and it came out beautifully and exactly how I wanted it. Do not go to Jester's Court. Waste of money and terrible work.
