Beware of this "spa" – Tuesday I went to Reeda Todd Aveda Lifestyle Salon & Spa in Geist to get a 60 minute spa pedicure and a brow wax. My experience was quite a disappointment from start to finish. I was asked to come early to my appointment and arrived 15 minutes early. I was asked if I'd like something to drink and requested water, only to wait an additional 10 minutes for her to come back with it. No one touched my feet until 35 minutes after I arrived. My feet were placed in a bronze BOWL for my pedicure, not a foot spa which is common practice in any other spa I have been to. My nail technician was in fact a hair stylist who was not scheduled to do my pedicure but did so because someone was fired minutes before my arrival. This woman was incredibly unprofessional and talked about her personal life the entire time. When she painted my nails, I had to have my legs bent with my knees almost to my chest. This is not comfortable or relaxing. I left unsatisfied and stressed, rather than relaxed. I came home to look at my feet and saw nail polish all over my FEET, not just on my nails. The polish was bubbling and sloppy. I could not believe I had paid $50 for that kind of work. I called the manager (Sarah) the following morning, and she said to come in at 11 to fix it. I got there early to speak with her about the experience I had, hoping that she would find a way to make it up to me so as not to lose a customer. Rather, she cut me off before I even had a chance to tell her HALF of what happened. She told me they would redo my pedicure, which I didn't have time or any reason for. I just wanted the polish fixed since I had to pay a babysitter to watch my daughter while I went to get this botch job fixed. She assured me they would compensate me in some way and then took off, never to be seen for the rest of my time there. After Lucy repainted my nails, I was given a
gift certificate for a 60 minute spa pedicure to make up for their mistake. To me, this is completely insufficient, being that the entire experience is FAR from what I have come to expect from Aveda. I had to hire and pay a babysitter and waste additional time to have something fixed that should have been done right the first time. I do NOT plan on returning to this salon unless something more is done to make up for such a ridiculously low quality experience in a place with such a high quality reputation. If I had been a secret shopper, this would be completely unsatisfactory and a complete failure. I would not recommend this "spa" to ANYONE.
Fashion and Family -Tori is Great – Just read the Indianapolis Monthly and one can see that Tori knows how to cut and style hair. Tori has wonderful ideas and tips on how to look great. She knows how to have fun and care for your needs. Questions are never pushed aside and she is awesome with kids cuts too! Remember to ask for the Halloween special in October.
Relaxing facials – Amanda is great for a relaxing facial. She gives a great little foot massage in the beginning and then moves onto the face. Her massage pressures are strong, but gentle. She works on you even during the mask. She's quiet, doesn't slam cupboards and drawers like some places do. I fall asleep every time! Time flies by! I highly recommend seeing her if you need to relax.
Do not ever have Tori cut your hair – Basically I went to Todd Reeda because I was told that Tori gave great hair cuts to men. I scheduled an appointment and she gave me a horrible haircut. charged me over a $60 for it and she flirted with me the entire time.....while pregnant! I am disgusted and will never go back.
Can't get any better for men! – Have to say I have been searching for a salon to call "home" and I have found it! I got my hair cut by Tori and she did an awesome job! We had a thorough talk about what I wanted and what I didn't and it was great! And the best part is the shampoo where she gives you a scalp massage, hand massage, and facial. Its more than just a cut. I have gotten my hair cut a few times now and the grow out has been, I have to say, quite nice! I highly recommend her to all men.
Great Color!! Friendly staff!! – I am new in town and drive by reeda todd everyday and decided to give them a shot. Christina did my color and did a fabulous job. I didn't have time to get a cut but met Tory (she blew my hair dry) who talked with me about a cut and I have to say they were 2 of the friendliest, knowledgeable people! I will definitely be back to see them both! Christina did miracles to correct the mess of color I came in with. I would highly recommend!
Worst Salon in Indy-- do not go! – I have visited the salon many times since it opened years ago and I used to see Ashleigh before she and many others on staff left. That should have been a red flag, but I wanted to remain loyal to the salon. However, recently I had to cancel a highlight at the last minute due to an emergency and called the salon to let them know. They assured me that it was ok and were very pleasant about it. But the next week I noticed I was charged near double what the price of the appointment was. When I called to explain the situation, the manager was very rude and unwilling to hear my explanation. She scolded me for missing the appointment and told me that I should have thought of the hairstylist's feelings- ?she has bills to pay?! It was the absolute WORST customer service I had ever received in my life! When I called back numerous times requesting for Reeda herself to call me regarding the situation, I was always assured the message would get back to her and that she would call me back but I never heard from her. LONG STORY SHORT, if you are looking for a trustworthy, credible and ethical salon that provides good service to its clients, then Reeda Todd is not the salon for you!
Aveda lovers don't go to Reeda Todd – Over priced over rated. The staff is rude their knowledge is somewhat not there and if by chance you book with some other stylist than the last get ready for a cat fight. From the first step in the door to checking out it will be a bummer. I find that the Fredricks Institute is ran like Aveda wants. I got a color at Reeda Todd and it cost me over $350.00 it only lasted four weeks when I went back to have it corrected it would be a extra $150.00. Color and Highlights at the Institute is less than $100.00. I use all Aveda products and even though I live within 3 miles of Reeda Todd I will go anyplace but there.
Thrilled – Visited the Reeda Todd Salon today and was so happy. It was recommended by Van Michael Salon in Atlanta. Kristina did my haircolor and cut and I am just thrilled that my first experience at a new salon was good. After going to Van Michael for 3 years and getting my hair done by Daniel, I took his recomendation and went to Reeda Todd Salon. Although Reeda was suggested by Daniel, she was not available. Kristina did a wonderful job. Thanks Reeda Todd
WOW... – When I walked into Reedatodd Salon and Spa for my appointment, the girl that greeted me was very snobby. She was on the computer and wouldn't even look at me for at least a couple minutes. Shopping on the internet must have been more important than caring for customers. Later to find out, she was the manager of the salon. Sad. Reeda did my color and haircut. She hardly consulted with me at all and she pretty much did what she wanted to do. She ended up missing a ton of spots on my color and my haircut was terribly uneven. It was absolutely horrible. I do not understand why she is a top hairstylist in Indiana, I also do not understand how she even has her license. She was also very rude talking about former employees (she has a TON of former employees...staff members are dropping like flies) right in front of me! All in all it was an absolutely horrific experience. The only good thing was the girl that gave me a foot soak and another one who shampooed me were extremely caring and personable. I feel sorry for them having to work at Reedatodd Salon and Spa. I would never go back to this salon. Ever. I had to go to another salon in the area to get my hair cut and color fixed. Not Recommended.
