(We may close one hour early T-F if there are no painters in the studio. Thank you.)
Great customer service since the new owners took over. Great prices. Very creative and fun. So much more than pottery :)
The studio looks great since it has been under new ownership. (New ownership meaning ownership has changed since the negative reviews that I read about the "new" owner). They have always had great prices and an awesome selection....now they have the awesome staff to go with it. Every experience I have had in the past 6 months or so has been a wonderful experience. Whether I am painting with my son or hanging out at midnight madness, I have had an excellent time. I have never had a custom order made because I enjoy doing them myself but the custom orders that I have seen them working on are BEAUTIFUL! I highly recommend Clay Escape. As for the people who wrote negative reviews, I think they would change their minds if they tried it now.
I must admit I read some of these reviews and thought I don't know about this place. But my son last Mother's Day gave me a gift certificate for Clay Escape and I just redeemed it last week. I had a very relaxing time there while working on my ceramic piece. By reading the reviews I knew I need to avoid the Manager Jennifer and hope to get Beth to assist me if I needed any help. While in there I did not know the young ladies name until about 1 hour of working on my project. The young lady was very helpful and pleasant. Come to find out it was the Manager Jennifer. So all I can say is you really have to see it for yourself and come to make your own decision if it is as bad as the reviews that are on here. I would come back and Jennifer it was a pleasure being in your shop. Wishing you success in your business.
A truly AWFUL experience and APPALLING "customer service", if it can be called that. I hope I can save someone the trouble of going through a disappointing experience. I never expected customers to be received so RUDELY...
Incredibly disappointing and painful experience – I had never been in. Went with my daughter and 9 month old granddaughter to pick up a custom order paid for in advance. I will never go again unless it changes ownership. I have NEVER experienced such Rude, Hostile customer service in my life. The piece was not done at all as ordered. After the owners awful comments and attitude, my daughter said "I'm sorry this is so uncomfortable". The owner actually Threw some painting supplies down on the table, in anger. My daughter said never mind and we got up to leave. The owner told my daughter to leave the piece, and my daughter said but I paid for it. The owner stormed off to the back of the store. We got outside and I said I would take it back in and ask for a refund. I did. A nicer older lady was about to give me the refund when the owner looked out from the doorway in the back of the store and said "NO! NOT FOR CUSTOM!" After another lengthy, angry and shocking tirade directed at me, I left the piece and the store. My daughter cried all the way home. The piece was Very important to her, but the worst was the HORRIBLE experience with the owner. This owner obviously does not know about the consequences of customer service. A well known marketing fact is that customers receiving good service tell 3 people and customers receiving poor service tell 10. This customer and her family and friends have told 35+ and will tell more.
Worst customer service I've ever had. – I just went to pick up my ornament from a playgroup visit a couple of weeks ago. The owner, Jennifer Haysie, had helped me originally & helped me today. Unfortunately the "1st Christmas hand print" ornament (which was very special to me) was not done how I'd requested. I had asked that she match the sample, but add my daughter's name. So, when I said it wasn't quite right, she scoffed, said I wasn't clear, argued, and finally said she'd re-Do it for a fee. I talked her out of that fee, brought my 10 mo. Old inside for a re-do, and she did it wrong again. She threw her supplies across the table, walked away & so I said to just forget it. That's the short version. I asked for my money back and she said absolutely not. It was the very worst customer service I've ever seen. To top it off, I had both my daughter & my Mom with me. They didn't deserve to see such awful behavior. Please give your business to the many decent, honest small-business owners that are deserving & honored to help their customers.
Nice place but I do have one problem.... – I love to go paint-it is so relaxing and they have some really cute things. I was new to painting pottery and Beth(?) was a HUGE help! I know she probably got tired of hearing us/me call her name! Lol she was so patient, made suggestions that I hadn't thought of and didn't "hover". We had a great time and she was fun to kid around with all the while being professional! We went another time and from my understanding-it was the owner that was there. While she was also very knowledgable and tried to be helpful, she kept as another reviewer put it- gave a lot of "unsolicited" advice. She also makes side handed comments that come across as rude-though I'm not sure she realizes it. When I go there, I like my personal space and privacy-my time to unwind or hang with my girls. When I go back, I will make sure Beth (I'm pretty sure that's her name) is there! She was a hoot, a lot of help, was so sweet, and helped to make it a great time!
Great Time with Kids! – I went in to Clay Escape on a Sunday with my two children. my children are a handful at home much less a pottery studio with lots to get into lol...There was a lady named Brittney? Maybe Beth? I cannot remember the name but she was very helpful and great with my children who had no clue what they were doing. She was very patient and explained things very good so we didnt end up messing things up! This is a place I had heard not so good things about but my children were dying to go because their friends had told them about it. From reading below I got lucky going when I did.
Just OK... – Wanted to try somewhere new. Lets just say I will keep looking. Smelled like someone had been smoking!! TOO much "help". They do have good choices as far as the pottery and many paints, unlike some other studios. Too dark, needs some revamping!! I realize it has a new owner, so maybe improvements are on the way. Might try again in a few months.
Great place & great prices, we go there pretty often.....the owner gives great advice but sometimes it's unsolicited and can come across as insulting. I don't think she means to be so rude but it comes across that way.
I've been a customer there for many years (prior to the current owner) and the atmosphere was very calm & relaxing and still is if the new owner is not there. Friends and co-workers have expressed the same feeling.
We usually try to go when we know the owner will not be there so we are not subjected to her critical remarks & rude comments.
