Worst Ever, Save your time, money, and everything else! – I do not even think 1 star is worth this Clinic. I went about 3 weeks ago because of my skin itching. I have been known to have folliculitis before and I knew I would have to see a dr to get any meds for it. I called a dr office in my hometown and asked if they knew of any great dermatology clinics and this one was suggested. I told the dr I saw at the clinic about my past history with folliculitis, she still insisted that it wasn't that and gave me a Rx for a pill and cream, to which the cream didn't have a generic for so I spent $60 between both of them. All the cream did was calm my skin, and it started itching again right after I stopped using it. I had asked a co-worker what they thought it was and she said her husband just got diagnosed with folliculitis and it looked exactly the same. I then in turned call this clinic back and asked to speak with a nurse, and she said that they weren't available and that she would leave a message for them to call. I told her specifically I was in school and that if they weren't able to call me that day, I needed to let her know the times I would be available the next day for them to call because I had final exams the next day. She promised they would call me back that day, well they didn't. I missed the call the next morning because I was taking a test. When I returned the call the lady on the phone seemed like it was a problem for her to leave a message for a nurse since I had already missed their call. 6 hours later, I still had not received a return call back to me. The same lady answered the phone and said, "I have already left them a message once this morning, they will get back to you when they get time!" I then asked her to see if a nurse was available, when she returned to the line, her response was, "They are busy, you will just have to wait." Then I asked her to let me speak with her office manager, guess what, her office manager was on vacation, but she still transferred me to make me even more mad. I then called back and by this time I was furious, and I asked her why she would do that, and she laughed. FINALLY, I was able to talk to a nurse that explained things a little better, but then when I told her I wasn't paying my $45 co-pay again because its a problem that I told the dr it was and she said it wasn't, they want me to pay for my co-pay again. Sorry, not doing that since the dr didn't listen the first time. The nurse also explained to my that it was an office policy that if messages are left after noon that day, they would be most likely returned the next day. If it is a policy, why wasn't I told that? Does the staff not know policies and guidelines of their job?
If they are going to give one patient a run around like me, they are going to do it to another one. Save yourself some time and go somewhere else.
I called the dr office that referred me to this clinic and told them my problems and they said that I am the 3rd person this month that has called them and told them how bad their experience had been and that they would not be referring anyone else to them.
Had my experience been not so horrible with the office staff, I don't think I would have been this mad if someone would have just took the time to explain things.
WORST EXPERIENCE. WISH I HAD KNOWN – I went to see Dr. Bell due to my finger nails splitting down the center and causing quite a bit of discomfort. While I was there I decided to mention two small itchy bumps on the left side of my face that I thought to be my eczema acting up. Dr. Bell made no recommendations for my fingernails but from the doorway, because he never came close to me, he immediately diagnosed me with Rosacea and prescribed Metrogel 1% and Finacea. Up until this point I had NEVER experienced flushing, red bumps or anything that resembled Rosacea symptoms and I had always enjoyed clear facial skin. After one application of Metrogel which I was told to apply to my entire face I had a severe reaction. My face was burning, itching and completely broken out. I contacted Dr. Bell's office and was advised over the phone to continue treatment as instructed and my skin should improve. They didn't even want to see me. The symptoms worsened and I was very discouraged by Dr. Bell's office's lack of concern and compassion. Within one week of my Rosacea diagnosis and continuous discomfort and Iots of tears I went looking for another dermatologist who immediately took me off of all of the medication Dr. Bell prescribed and started me on steroids to help clear up my irritated red raw face. The dermatologist felt that perhaps my Rosacea was actually brought on by the use of Metrogel & Finacea which may have been too harsh for my sensitive and eczema prone skin. He wasn't convinced that I even had Rosacea when I went to see Dr. Bell but if I did in fact have Rosacea, it was so mild and I should never been treated so agressively with such harsh chemicals. These medications took me from extremely mild to stage 2 Rosacea and now I suffer every day. I am beyond devastated. My once beautiful skin was destroyed because of one simple visit to Dr. Bell for my fingernails. I cannot tell you how sad I am. Did I mention that there is absolutely ZERO bedside manner and it is reflected throughout the office as the staff does not seem to be enjoying their job? I remember my one and only visit to Dr. Bell's office. As I sat in the waiting room they called the next patient. An elderly woman struggled to stand up and grab her belongings. The nurse just stood at the door and watched her struggle. I got up and helped the woman get her belongings and walk her to the door. I should have known right then and there I had made a mistake.
Love this place – Im not sure why all these people are so down on MDC, the one person said it was their 6th or 7th mole removed?? Well if you hated it so bad why did you keep going back? The person who "asked" for a doctor and got a practioner REALLY like the fact they got a fast appointment but its obvious they wouldnt have been please either way. Complain if they had to wait forever for an appoitment to see a "doctor" or complain when they got right in and had to see a practioner.
I have gone to MDC for several years for a number of things from acne to cyst removals. My most recent visit was 03/04/11 I had 3 large fibroids that were on my leg and was very concerned. Dr.Bell came in looked at them and said oh those are.... and explained to me what they were how they were caused and advised they were nothing to worry about but that he would send them off anyway. He then proceeded to "ask" me if i minded if one of his LPN came in and removed the fibroids, i stated if she is qualified then no i dont have a problem. She was once of the best nurses i have ever had i was scared and nervous of course about having huge hunks taken out of my leg but she laughed with me and sensed my nerves and tried her best to make me feel better I take my 12 daughter here to make sure her skin is ready for the drama of teenage acne. I recommend this clinic to anyone
Practitioners failure to disclose – I called Murfreesboro Dermatology Clinic in November and specifically requested to see a dermatologist to deal with a possible cyst which was quite painful. I was told that I could have an appointment and was scheduled.
The practitioner cut out part of a cyst and sent the tissue to be biopsied.
The condition worsened, and I requested for a follow up appointment. At the second appointment, the practitioner did not even examine me, but suggested that I see an ENT specialist. She did give me an antibiotic.
Later in the day, I went to see my primary care physician. It was at my primary doctor's office that I learned that I had not even seen a dermatologist at all, but either a nurse practitioner or a physician's assistant.
I am well aware that NPs and PAs are allowed by the state to perform certain procedures under the supervision of a medical doctor. This complaint is not about whether or not the practitioner did a procedure she was not allowed to do.
This complaint is about the fact that I specifically requested an appointment to see a doctor, and I was told that I had an appointment. At no time, on either visit, did the NP/PA disclose that she in fact was not a doctor. This, in my opinion, is highly unethical and possibly illegal. As a realtor, state law requires that I disclose my status as a realtor immediately upon entering any business conversation with a prospective client. I would expect that state law also require that practitioners disclose what their status is. At a minimum, Murfreesboro Dermatology Clinic and Dr. Bell's staff acted, in my opinion, in a highly unprofessional and unethical manner by giving me the impression that I was seeing a doctor, when in fact I was not.
When I had this conversation with my primary care physician...one who is well known and has practiced in Murfreesboro for many years...he informed me that he does not refer patients to Murfreesboro Dermatology Clinic.
I have filed a complaint with the State Office of Investigations.
Professional and experienced staff – I don't know why the other person had such a awful experience and I feel bad that it went so poorly for them. My treatment went extremely well and the nurse and Dr. Bell answered all of my questions. I highly recommend Dr. Bell and his staff to everyone.
Best run clinic – Whoever wrote the first review is a complete and utter moron. First of all, if it's the actual doctor removing a mole, it's a pretty crummy practice. On top of that, she is a non-paying criminal.
I have been going to MDC for the past 8 years for my psoriasis and I couldn't be happier with any other doctor. I wouldn't ever think of going anywhere else. Any time I've ever had a problem, they always get me in quickly. Every one is always friendly. I have no complaints about MDC. One of the best run businesses, let alone best run doctor's office, I have ever seen.
ridiculously bad – If i could give M'Boro Derm less than one star I would. First off, the entire staff has an awful bedside manner. Secondly, the quality of their work is horrendous. These were my 6th and 7th moles to have removed, and I have never been left with a scar before, these were awful! It looks like I was bit by a vampire on my stomach, and Dr Bell didn't even do it, he left one of his ill mannered nurses to it and she practically left a gaping hole there even after stitches. On top of that they didn't even remove all of the mole, so I need to have the removal done all over again! When I received my bill and complained, they said they wouldn't do anything, well I definitely won't be paying you and I definitely won't be coming back. Thanks for nothing Dr Bell.
