I can't say enough about how much I appreciate the kindness and compassion of Butler Animal Clinic. The day after Christmas my daughter and I had to take her cat in. He was so very sick and anemic. Butler Animal Clinic was willing to continue to give the cat medicine even though we all knew it would only buy him a couple more weeks. My daughter and I made the hardest decision...to let her cat go home to Jesus. My daughter wanted to be there for his last breath and hold him and spend time with him. The doctor gave us as much time as we needed and showed so much compassion to us and our precious Buddy kitty. I will always recommend Butler Animal Clinic and will continue to seek medical attention for my other pets.
I can not tell you enough how much I recommend this location for all your pets needs. I have seen 3 vets there, Dr. Mike, Dr Butler, and Dr. Everette (think that was his name) who teaches at UT and does surgery at this office as well. My daughter accidentally dropped our schnauzer hurting his leg bad, the diagnose was a rare injury. THEY TOOK him from my HANDS in the parking lot and carried him themselves as they were waiting on me to bring him in for it was an EMERGENCY.....Dr. Everette did the surgery and did an awesome job.I was so upset, I locked my keys in the car, and they even helped me with that when they did not have too!!!!!... These doctor's really care for the animals and the owners!!!, I live in Strawberry Plains, and gladly make the drive, they are worth it. The only problems I have ever had was with a new student/doctor, and it was not bad, he just did not prescribe a strong enough antibiotic to take care of the problem, I was not charged for the recheck!!! They're prices are very reasonable, and I find that very comforting considering that savings means you can take better care of your animals, and have more regular check-up. I love this office, doctors and staff as well. You could not ask for a better all around facility for the care of your Animal period. A 5 Star establishment hands down.....
I will never step foot back inside of this clinic, I have used Butler for years but will never again. The whole staff has a horrible attitude towards the owners and the animals. The vets used to be caring and would answer any question you had but now it is all about the money, they don't have time to spend with you because they have to see more people so they can make more money. My cat was there a few months ago he was very sick but I was told he was doing great and expected him to be home in 2 days. The day after I was told this he died and I could not get an explanation out of them. My mother went to pick him up for me because I was to upset to do it, she was told if she did not pay the bill in full she could not have him. That is insane have a heart I have used them for years and always paid my bills give me a day to grieve. Please don't be fooled by there cheap prices you get what you pay for and your animals will be the ones to suffer. When you take your dog in once a year for shots and a checkup that is suppose to consist of a full check up not just give them their shots and send them out the door. If you want your dogs checked out you have to tell them what to do and then they charge you more money for doing what they were suppose to do in the first place. I hope by writing this I helped at least one pet owner to keep them from going through the grief I have been through. Please choose your vet carefully your pets are part of your family would you take your kids to a doctor just because they are cheap?
Incredible, amazing, great people. – Our puppy, Leia, is a 9-month-old beagle and among many things, is she is a champion explorer.
This is the trait that gets her into trouble...
A little over a week ago, she got into some Gorilla Glue and long story short, had to have surgery to have the glob of softball sized foam removed from her stomach.
Butler Animal Clinic did an AMAZING job, took great care of her, kept her for two nights to make sure that she was going to be ok.
They were very professional, treated us and our puppy with upmost respect and kindness. I highly recommend them to anyone who has a four legged family member in need of medical attention.
The most amazing thing was the price. For the surgery, room-and-board, and the medication, I was charged CONSIDERABLY less than any other vet I had spoken with.
Even if you don't live close to the Karns area, it is definitely worth the drive to get your furry friends over to see them.
We will be back for sure!
Special thank you to Doctor Brad, you are awesome!
Baby Kitten Found On Easter Sunday: – I can't begin to say thank you for caring for the little kitten we now call "Hope", that I found in front of the Church on Easter! She had a respiratory infection, her little eyes and nose were crusted shut. Pretty bad shape! I took her there on Monday morning. They cleaned her eyes and nose and gave her antibiotics. Well I couldn't get her to eat or keep her eyes and nose clean. She was so sweet though! She purred and purred when I held her close. I had to take her back on Tuesday, she wasn't doing very good! I didn't know what to do, well a sweet technician offered to take her home with her to take care of her! She was our Angel! I will continue to take her and our dog of 20 + yrs."Blondie". We don't know exactly how old she is, she was a rescue dog! Thank you "Butler's Animal Clinic"!!! Sincerely, Kimberly White
Been to other vets and this is the Best! – I've been with Butlers for over 15 years. A few times I went to another vet because they were closer to home.
No one can compare to this vet. In the past we saw the late Dr, Butler and no one could compare to him, and Dr. Butler (the son) has followed in his fathers footsteps of providing excellent care.
One customer said that her dog died in surgery and I'm very sorry for their loss> I've been there and it hurts.
But I will tell you that I'm confident Butler did everything possible to help their beloved pet. They have saved my pet many times, one time even wiring a broken jaw.
Not at all impressed and sorry we took our dog there – We took our great dane to this vet because her tail was getting injured on the tip. It was bleeding and we were afraid that it would get infected and continue to cause issues so we contacted butler for a tail docking. They scheduled the surgery a week later, no waiting, no checking her blood for infection, just gave her some antibiotics and said they would cut it off in a week. Assuming they knew what they were doing, we took our dog back and they did the surgery and our dog died on the table. There was no reason this should have happened with a healthy 2 year old dog. When I came to get the dog, they did not even have the common decency to finish sewing up her tail area, instead left a gaping hole which was uncalled for. I asked for the medical records of what was done and they said I had no right to the documents, only after advising I have a legal background and work on legal matters did they realize they were not talking to an uneducated person and they reluctantly turned it over. Their medical records do not have their name on the top of the files (hmm, I wonder why) none of the medicines given to our dog were recorded, and I noticed in the surgery room that their center appears to be outdated with extremely old tools and technology so I have no faith they took appropriate action to save my dog's life. I then took the dog to a external necropsy provider who found many irregular things in the report. To this day, we have never gotten an apology call, letter, or anything from this vet. They do not care, just take your money, if the dog dies, who cares?? Not them. They will hear from me again, but in my legal capacity and from someone at the state.
10 years as our vet, we trust no one else! – Butler has been our vet for 10+ years and we LOVE LOVE LOVE this vet clinic. They have always treated all of our animals with the respect and quality they deserve. On top of being wonderful to our furry family members they are also very reasonable. In september I had to have my 14 year old standard poodle put to sleep. It was a gut wrenching day, but the staff at Butler really helped us get through it. The staff at Butler were truely good to her to the very end. You would be a fool to take your pets any where else!!!!
Won't go anywhere else after today! – I had taken my new 1 year old pup to another vet for check-up and some other things. The vets acted like they never handled a dog before. The vets in farragut told me that he may be cute right now but I'm going to have a serious problem with him later if I don't take care of his behavior. He had to be muzzled both times he was seen and they couldn't do the tests they wanted to because my dog didn't want to be touched and they gave up. In my dogs defense, my dog is a rescue dog and we had JUST gotten him that week so he wasn't use to the souroundings or us. Nor did he want someone sticking something up his butt!
I was so nervous to take him to another vet with our last experience, mind you. . my dog is the friendliest dog around kids, and other people he just wasn't at the vets. So when I called Butlers I told them I was nervous to bring him in and told them about his last vet experience.
I took him to be seen at Butlers and my dog was soooo good. I can only thank the staff there. They were able to do the full exam of what needed to be done. My dog didn't need to be muzzled, he didn't growl at the doc. It was such a positive experience. The front staff do seem busy but I prefer to go here rather than where we last went. I felt confident that they know how to handle animals. I am still in awe at how well my dog did and what a different experience we had. When the doc was touching his throat I think my jaw dropped to the floor. . .my dog just sat there like he was getting a massage LOL Thanks Butlers for making this such a positive experience for us!
best place i have seen so far – this is definitely a great place to take your animals... i have a pit mastiff mix that had a bad habit of getting out of the fence and following me down the driveway well the inevitable happened and he got caught under one of the tires as i was pulling out i rushed right over to butlers they had him x-rayed within an hour or so and though the accident cost him his leg he is otherwise in good health they kept him over the weekend for surgery and could not have been more courteous.... and after everything was said and done they only charged me about $450 so if you ever really need a vet during their office hours i would highly recommend these guys.
