A wonderful experience…
Hot, sweet scones…a beautiful salad bar…delicious food and ice cold lemonade…what more could someone ask for from such a beautiful restaurant. From the moment you walk into the restaurant, you are welcomed with open arms. The staff members are friendly and kind. The food, cooked to perfection was visually pleasing and the taste? Delicious. I was very pleased with this location and count the days until I return. A must try for everyone.
Jakers is one of my favorite places to eat! The service is generally pleasant and professional. The menu offers a wide range of choices that are fresh and well-portioned. I love the happy hour…half priced apps and reasonably priced cocktails. Their atmosphere caters to all ages, very comfortable and enjoyable. A great restaurant for locals and a place that I refer visitors from out of town.
In a city filled with a great variety of restaurant, Jakers sets itself apart from the rest. No two visits are ever alike, I still enjoy exploring the various menu options.
The soup and salad bar is always a wonderful option. With soups like French onion, baked potato and lobster bisque there is no bad choice. The various salads are delicious and contain a great array of ingredients.
Meals vary from casual to fine dining. They have sandwiches, salads, steaks, seafood and pasta dishes. The restaurant also has a full bar and offers great daily happy hour specials.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is very comfortable. TVs show sporting events and casual dress is acceptable. I would suggest is making a reservation, this place is popular, especially on weekends.
I hope that you enjoy Jakers as much as I do! See you there!
Jaker's is one of our go-to restaurants for a nicer dinner in Meridian. We are always pleased with the quality of both the staff (the service is always, always excellent) and the food. The building and food is nice enough to feel like fine dining, but it's perfectly acceptable to dress casually which we really like.
On my most recent visit, we sat at the bar for happy hour and ended up ordering a full dinner as well. Our bartender, Jenny, is one of our favorites--she's quite friendly but not intrusively so. She had a good feel for when to check in with us and when to let us chat.
Their happy hour is really good: There's a small-plate appetizer menu (We tried the crab-stuffed mushrooms and the calamari. Both were good.) and drink specials. Their wine pours are a generous 9 ounces and they have a nice selection. Happy hour gets you $1 off beers and house wine and $2 off margaritas and martinis.
My husband ordered the soup and salad bar with his meal. He liked the salad bar, but the lobster bisque he got from the kitchen? A-maz-ing! It was fresh and not like sometimes you feel like you're getting a few days old soup when it's really thick; and it was so delicious!
For dinner I ordered the chicken tenders with fries and my husband ordered fish and chips. The fish and chips is one of his favorite things to eat in the whole treasure valley. He loves that the portions are generous enough to have leftovers for the next day. The food tasted great. I'm really happy to see that Jaker's has moved to hand-cut fries and Jenny told me that they've started hand-dipping their chicken strips instead of using the frozen ones. This is a step up from what we've had before and I appreciate that they're constantly looking for ways to improve.
Jaker's is a great place to visit whether you're stopping in for happy hour drinks after work or you want a full dinner for date night.
Dining at Jaker's is always a great experience. They have a wonderful lunch menu that includes salads, pasta, burgers and a variety of sandwiches. The dinner menu offers a variety of appetizers, steaks, fish and chicken entrees. The salad bar has a wonderful selection of salads and fresh fruits.
The fresh scones and honey butter are a great way to start off your lunch or dinner. I have personally enjoyed a variety of the menu options at both lunch and dinner. My personal favorites for lunch are the sirloin burgers or the BLT sandwich with avocado. For dinner I recommend the prime rib, which is always a treat. The Chicken a la Jaker's is another great option that features a breaded chicken breast topped with bearnaise sauce, crab meat and asparagus spears served atop a bed of linguini noodles.
The restaurant has an intimate atmosphere. The staff members are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable about menu options and can offer great suggestions. The restaurant is conveniently located in Meridian right off Eagle Road between Fairview Avenue and Franklin.
never again – mixing dining with politics does not make good good food
