worst dining experience of our lives – We went to this restaurant, which we had visited a few times before, and had one of the worst dining experiences of our lives. We started with appetizers (calamari and arugula salad) and were having a good time. But after another 45 minutes, we still had not gotten our main courses. When we asked the waitress what had happened she said it was coming. Finally a full hour after our appetizers, we got our main course and we told the waitress we were not satisfied with the timing of the food. Shortly after, the owner/chef came to our table and threatened to call the police if we did not pay our bill and leave. We sat there incredulously--we thought we had heard wrong (was this a joke?). There was never a question of not paying the bill and we never said anything of the sort to the waitress or the owner. When we asked why he was threatening us, he again insisted that we "either pay and leave his establishment immediately" or he would call the police. At the end, we told the waitress that we would still tip her because it was not her fault, but she became very nasty and said we just needed to leave. Never in our lives have we had an experience like this. It was almost surreal. Truly the most unpleasant time we have ever had eating a meal in a restaurant. We are still shaking our heads and certainly will never walk in his establishment again.

Not going back. – We made dinner reservations for 9:00 PM, a civilized hour in Provincetown, and they were accepted. When I called to confirm my reservation, I was told to be prompt because "the kitchen closes at 9:00". We arrived to a semi-full restaurant and still had to wait 20 minutes for a table. Between the imperious Maitre d' and the waitress who clearly couldn't wait for us to leave, it made for a fairly uncomfortable dining experience. The food was of considerably less quality than it was a year ago, and I don't think I'll bother to repeat the experience next year.
