Liars, rude and misleading – This company told us to go to their website for pricing. However, when the sales rep finally came out he informed us that the prices on the website aren't accurate. And the 35-40k pools would cost 50-55k dut to extra drainage and cement. 15k for cement. The sales rep didn't seem like he even wanted to talk with us, and about 5 minutes into the conversation he left refusing to bid unless we were willing to increase our budget to 50k plus.
Don't even waste your time with these jokers. If they don't build simple pools with a spa for 40k, don't put them on your website!
VERY disappointing – I called Platinum Pools and was explaining to them how I had a salt water pool built with flagstone coping. The lady who was immediately helping me expressed how "not good" that was and "you shouldn't combine the two (salt water and flagstone), she ask who built the pool and when I responded PLATINUM POOLS her response was simply "OH, let me transfer you to Wanda".......
After explaining to Wanda and letting her know we needed new coping after only four years and my hope was that instead of giving our money to another coping company where they keep 100% of their profit, my hope was Platinum would do the work and eat part of the profit (lessening our cost) for their ownership of building a salt water pool with flagstone coping.
NOPE.......................she used the excuse of ignorance, they just didn't know any better then, no ownership in that now that they do know.............REALLY???? This pool isn't 10 years old and salt water pools were not new to the industry either. Because they were ignorant they see NO OWNERSHIP in the problem. (By the way they know they are not suppose to, the lady who answered the phone knew it and a friend of mine who sat down with them to possibly have a pool built by them was told you shouldn't combine the two.)
I do not recommend Platinum, if they refuse to "make right" what is CLEARLY their oversight and their mistake alone, I would not think any other issues would be easier and would be just as quick to blow off!
There are many reputable pool companies out there with better customer service than that, find one of them! Read reviews!!!!!
What---- no inspection!?!?! – what a disaster! I thought the worse had happened after my head guy left it a mess and half ass cleanup efforts were done only after phone calls. But then I found out 2 months later that they never got it finally inspected by the city and now I am in a whole different world of mess!
The final payment before they completely finish is a huge mistake!
not sure about them – By the time June rolled around, we regretted not having a pool built for our house in time for summer swimming. We called Platinum because they are close to where we live. They sent a salesman out. He was very smarmy & tried to convince us to do/build things we didn't want. He didnt bother to ask us what we wanted, he just assumed he knew. I got a queasy feeling about it. The pool company owner might say, Yeah way to go salesman, push them into it! But guess what, we are not to be pushed and we didn't buy from you. So you lost a sale by having someone come out to our house that was just way too pushy and looking out for himself and NOT for us, the customer.
Slow But Thorough – Wow, we had a Platinum pool put in in Spring 2007 and our experince was nothing like the ones described here. The salesman was the consummate professional, we signed the deal and they got the hole dug quickly. Things slowed down after that, primarily the wait for the tile and coping, but when they arrived they did an incredible job. We've had a couple of pump issues, but they were prompt in getting it fixed, and hooked up a loaner pump while they waited for our new one to come in. We went with the pebble finish, and already had a Morgan spa so we didn't do the spa/pool combo. We love the pool and I'm really puzzled by the negative experience. We checked the BBB and they have an "A" rating, and I'm a pretty demanding consumer. They got it done on the 90th day, and we were swimming when we thought we would be.
Unfaithful to commitments – Agree with many others that have expressed their experience. We received a quote for a pool and were told to provide a deposit to "expedite" the process, but were assured by SF that at any time prior to breaking ground we could cancel and get a full refund on our deposit. Needless to say we went with Backyard Amenities (very good) and told Platinum only to be told "let me see what we can do." I couldn't get comfortable with them due to a neightbor who had used them telling me of problems they encountered and they refused to return my deposit. I had the same experience of being pushed to voice mail after being told the person I wanted to speak with was in the office. I called my rep, his boss and the owner and nobody has returned my call. The receptionist (Janice) was very sweet, but could offer no assistance other than "I am sorry". Do yourself a favor and avoid the used car saleman type sales pitch and in my opinion dishonorable business mehtods. In the end it is not about the $, but I hope if they ever feel bad they simply drop the money in the local foodbanks donation box.
Avoid at all costs – Having a swimming pool built in your yard should be a happy time in your life , however choosing Imagine to build our pool has been nothing short of misery. We have had many instances of no response from the company. I agree with the other review, they try to avoid my phone calls, always sending me to voice mail so they will not communicate with me. When there is a problem with the project, they take a really long time to correct the problem.
I could not in good faith recommend this company to anyone who is considering having a pool built. I can reccommend another pool company called Anthony & Sylvan Pools. A friend of mine recently got her pool built by them and they finished way before my pool was done and with fewer disruptions. Beware !!
Bad customer service – After they get your final check (whick they want before scheduling your plaster) they forget that you exist. We wonder if we will ever get our final details finished on our pool. The construction supervisor tells us that it is the subcontractors responsibility to install water jets, the subcontractor doesn't know anything about it, and the scheduler doesn't even have record that the jets are needed. They tell you they will come and correct problem, but never show up.
Poor service – We had a pool done by Platinum. It was poorly project managed and we had to continually chase them. The after service is very poor. They dont return calls and try their best not to communicate with us. They came and fixed a problem but again we constantly had to chase them up. They have no idea what 'service' means let alone good customer service.
Run Of The Mill – Platinum is your typical run-of-the-mill pool builder - money upfront, big stuff all contracted out and done quickly, then feet dragged when it's time to address the finer points and close the job. It took them over six months to correct standard contractor errors and finally finish our pool.
