Here is a tip... DON'T BE RUDE TO CUSTOMERS!!!
I don't know why I thought they might have changed but the staff on Belair Rd (Baltimore) as well as Ritchie Hwy (Severna Park) act like they are too cool for school. I get it, you are busy shops, but guess what, that is not my problem it is yours!! Hire more staff if you can't handle the load without acting like complete jackasses. It is quite obvious this place is only in business due to the large demand for products and services. They are not successful because they offer good, not even average... THEY OFFER WHATEVER IS LESS THAN POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE and they are slow to boot!
Pete your business might be busy and even flourishing but think about how much more it could be if your staff was just a bit more friendly.
Even an idiot knows you get more flies with honey.
This is a follow-up. I removed a negative post about Petes Cycle due to a defective LoJack system. The issue was LoJack and their tech support, which I blamed Petes Cycle.
When I brought my bike into Petes Cycle to fix the LoJack system, it was determined that the system was defective, and Alan personally stayed on top of the issue. He also gave me daily updates until the issue was resolved.
I gave Petes Cycle a thumbs up, and I'm a very critical customer.
Bait and switch scam! – Called and left msg about a used bike that I saw online. When someone called me back, there was no mention of the used bike I called about. He kept telling me about their NEW bikes (and this was only after I told him that I had a decent trade-in, before that he seemed totally disinterested in helping me at all!) After asking him at LEAST 3 more times if the used bike that I saw online was available, he finally (and reluctantly) said that, no, the used bike was not available.
The are Crooks – I purchased a 2011 Yamaha VX Deluxe from Pete Cycle and paid $8,225.00 it and I decided to trade it in on May 10, 2012, so I called them up and asked what is the trade in value and I was told by Brian it was $5,700.00 so I put my finances in line and had my bank cut a check for the difference minus my trade. I was originally suppose to complete the deal on Friday May 11, 2012, however I was not able to, so I called them and told them I would be up tomorrow after 12 noon. I proceeded to go there and arrived there at 3pm and went to the bathroom no one greeted me or said hello. After I returned from the bathroom the general manager Brad approached me and I said I am here to trade my jet ski in and he said, yea, we will give you $3,000 for your ski. I said what, how did we go from $5,700 to $3,000.00 and he started going on about I was suppose to be there yesterday and that was relevant to the trade value. I then told him that Brian stated the NADA trade value is right around $5,700.00 however he began to act like it did not matter what I was told, he stated I can either trade the ski at that cost or sell my ski out right to someone but that is all he can offer. He further stated we are not currently taking any used skis, now here resides the problem. They could have told me on Thursday or Friday that they were not interested in doing any late model trades, however they did not and had me thinking I was going to trade my jet ski in for $5,700.00. Bottom line they are crooks. I am a veteran of the Navy, if you are on active duty or retired, do not purchase from Pete’s cycle. They will try to rip you off for your trade!
Never Go There – I went there to possible buy a Honda goldwing motorcycle.i walked in two men sitting at the first desk just looked at me like i was homeless,I stood there for a few min to see if I was going to get help they just walked away.So if you need to buy a motorcycle or anything never never never go to this place.hopefully this place go out of business soon!

Pete's parts was great – Recently went to belair road location. Bought some parts and got great service and a very helpful staff. ty
Pete's is the Worst Business Ever – "Starcaster" must work for Pete -- he sounds like a ringer. They are terrible. Actually, they are worse than terrible. I bought a snow blower from Pete's and the one they delivered took over 70 pulls to finally start when it was delivered. I have to assume it didn't start for the sales department and it damn sure didn't start for the delivery person who dumped it off at my home. I emphasize that they delivered it anyway without fixing it first. Let me make this perfectly clear: Pete's Cycle knowingly and intentionally sold me a defective product that they knew full well just flat-out wouldn't start. I called them and asked that they fix the product as a warranty repair but It took almost two months and ten or more calls for them to pick it up. Their service department kept it for another three months until I called Honda Customer Service and filed a complaint. Finally I was told that the problem was bad gasoline, that they had changed it, and that the machine now worked. In fact, it did start with what sounded like an explosion when they delivered the supposedly repaired blower; however, it didn't start at all the next day. In fact, I think that they had simply primed the carburetor with starter fluid before they dumped it off for the second time. I called Honda again, and they recommended that I simply use another dealer for the warranty repair. I did, and the high school student the Honda of Crofton dealership sent to pick it up took one look at the problem, stuck his finger on the choke cable and fixed the problem in about 30 seconds - after they took the machine back to the shop for a full check-up. They delivered it again the next week.
To recap the story:
1. Pete's knowingly delivered a faulty product
2. Pete's dragged their feet and hemmed-and-hawed about fixing the problem
3. Pete's either couldn't or wouldn't fix an elementary mechanical problem
4. Pete's lied to me before, during, and after the issue was on their plate.
The issue finally had to be resolved by another dealer (again, Honda of Crofton).
Pete's Cycle ranks at the top of my all-time worst sales and service experiences.
Best In Town!! – I understand that not everyone is going to have a positive experience everywhere they do business, and it's usually the case that those who do not have a positive experience will usually be the loudest. But...that changes here...PETE'S IS THE BEST PLACE IN TOWN FOR YOUR MOTORCYCLE BUSINESS!!! PERIOD!!! Now let me back that statement up. In the past 11 years I have bought 5 motorcycles from Pete's, 4 new and one used. They have gotten 85% of my repair business, I use that number because I do do some of my own work when time and tools permit. Gary is an awesome guy and a very knowledgeable salesman. When I bought my first bike I only had my permit, when it came time to do the test he went with me on his own time! Before I had bought a bike there I didn't even know the man and here he is on his own time helping me out. Ben in accessories knows his stuff also and can get just about anything you need quickly. The parts guys also do a super job. Last Friday I ordered two parts for one of my Triumphs and it was in the store 4 business days later and I just installed them an hour ago. Brian in service is a busy guy, running the show and overseeing what needs to be done. If I need a repair he always fits me in. Now granted ladies and gentlemen we all want things done quickly, but this isn't Jiffy Lube. You can't walk in during spring time when everybody and their brother is pulling out their bike for the new season and expect to get serviced in a day or two. BUT if you schedule your service odds are he'll get you in and out as promised. I've had a time or two when I needed a bike fixed in a hurry and Brian and the guys have gotten it done and me happily down the road as promised. I found an oil leak on my bike two days before leaving for a ride to Memphis, Tn. and he got the bike fixed the same day! John the owner will also do what ever needs to be done to make his customers happy. I am a proud Pete's customer and will stay that way.
