Ive been going there for year. The doctors is excellent and the staff is very helpful.
Don't ever go to this place – To be honest this place deserve less than one star. The doctor was horrible. I WILL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN. If you are planning to go here, don't waste your time and money.
Best eyecare! – I've been going to this doctor since she began her practice at the J.C. Penny at Meyerland Mall a long time ago. I've followed her from location to location and was very happy when she finally opened her very own practice! I was initially diagnosed with slightly poor eyesight and she has used her skills to ensure that in the 15 years I've been seeing her, my eyesight has not gotten worse whatsoever! I have had the same prescription since I first saw her! She taught me some eye therapy exercises that I followed so if you get the chance, as her about them! Who knew the eye was a set of muscles that can be trained?!! Her staff is also super friendly and I love that they are family and kid friendly and also cater to the Spanish-speaking community! If you want to kee your eyesight for a lifetime, see Dr. Echetebu!
Another great visit – I have been a patient at Gulfgate Vision since 2003.
I always enjoy my vist with Dr. E. She is caring and takes such good care of my eyes!
David is always sweet & helpful. He helped me pick out the coolest Ray Ban frames today! Thanks David!
I always refer my friends to Gulfgate Vision. I wanted to share my experience with the public as well! Five stars for sure!
Really Nice Staff and Great Designer Frames – I just recently got an eye exam and a new set of frames from Gulfgate.
It was a great experience. The Doctor was extremely friendly and explained everything to me. She made sure I understood everything that was being performed. I felt very comfortable and at ease during my exam.
The staff was amazing. So nice and patient. They really helped me pick the perfect set of glasses even though I was extremely indecsisive. The frame selection was the best I have seen. They had all the top designers and also had some really great specials for a cheaper selection as well. They really worked with me and helped me make the best decision. I felt no pressure or uncessary sale's pitches.
Overall in the past few years I have been to multiple eye doctors in houston and this has been the best experience thus far. Highly recommend. Dr and Staff provide exceptional service.
Love it! – I have been going to this office for many years now. What caught my eye the first time I went was their great fashionable frame selection. The Dr. there is very nice and I never have had any trouble with the prescription as i did before i found her. Now I have my whole family going there and they love it. My parents speak only Spanish but they were very comfortable in the office because the Dr. conducted the exam in Spanish and the staff explained their insurance benefits very politely, professionally also in Spanish. My parents were impressed especially by the Dr. doing the exam in Spanish. Another thing is that I always review my benefits before going to my appointment and they always have the same information as I do. All in all i will continue to see her for many years to come so I highly recommend Gulfgate Vison to everyone!
Horrible Visit!!! – Initial visit was uncomfortable to begin with; the doctor was very rude and unprofessional- as other review stated. I missed my follow-up exam and scheduled a new one much later. During my visit, the doctor (same as original visit) started harassing me about how I didn't come in early enough (and even interrogated where I had been!!) and would have to pay a $45 fee for the follow-up. Of course I protested, telling her that as a full-time student with no insurance I could not afford (and should not have to pay) a $45 fee. She showed me a document I had signed on the initial visit that stated I understood that I would have to pay the fee if I waited more than a month to schedule the follow-up. I told her that was fine; I would skip the exam and take the 6 month supply of contacts I had already paid for during the first visit. She got very irate and said that I would have to have the exam because she had not finalized the prescription and would not give me my contacts if I didn't. I showed her where in the document that she had mis-worded the requirement, as it had said I would have to pay for the follow-up if I waited longer than a month but it did not state I would need one to get my pre-paid contacts. She demanded that I stop arguing with her and kept going on about how young people 'don't read what they sign' and how she 'has four children, and know how they try to get away with things'. She was the most horrid, ignorant, and loathsome person I have ever run across during a doctor’s visit. If its any illustration of what a terrible practice she runs, they were able to fit me in the same day I called for the initial and follow-up visits (and to top it off, when the assistant penciled in my first follow-up I had missed, I was surprised to see virtually no appointments listed- though it is no shock now as to why.) Eventually, she waived the fee (which was a no-brainer from the start). I tolerated her rambling in fear she would not give me my contacts, and even had to witness her berate her employees in front of me about how they should more thoroughly explain the follow-up policy. Sure lady, it’s my fault, it’s their fault, its everyone’s fault except your ignorant self who wrote that absurdly mis-worded document that didn't correctly state your policy. DO NOT VISIT!!!!
worst vision center ever – These people have no idea what they are doing. I went in for an eye exam and and overall checkup because my eyes had been bothering me. The optomotrist was rude to begin with, she got frustrated when I didnt understand why my insurance wasnt covering everything, when 1. Thats part of her job and 2. I wasnt trying to be dificult I just didnt want to pay more than I had to.She is the only one there by the way. During the vision exam she asked me what has been bothering me and I explained to her. She refered me to someone else! This is after I paid for the exam and the contacts fitting. My contacts she gave me were blurry and I told her this and she told me to come back in a week. I decided to go to a diffrent place even though my insurance didnt cover this new place at all. They told me that she shouldnt have given and charged me for an eye exam when I in fact had an obvious eye infection. Wearing the contacts she gave me it got worse. In the end I had to pay for another set of exams and contact fittings when it could have been avoided if Gulfgate Vision wasnt just trying to take my money.
