This place is fantastic! The new owners personal service and attention is exceptional. The grounds and rooms are beautiful. They offer rooms with individual hot tubs and romantic dinners in the lodge or outside in the gazebo under the stars and lights. The weddings I have attended were perfect. I highly recommend Starlight Canyon to any one having a wedding or event or just spending the night or weekend.
This B&B just changed owners at the beginning of 2013 and you can definitely tell a difference. I saw the property before and after the change of owners. The new owners have made some changes to be more accommodating for the weddings they have out there and have really done a lot of landscaping to make it look even more beautiful. One of my friends had a wedding out there and said everything was perfect. I recommend this place to anyone that wants a beautiful place to stay or have a wedding.
Once a NOT so Romantic Night – We made reservations, but when we arrived @ 4:15 to check in no one was on the property and no one answering their phone, so we drove back to Amarillo to have dinner. When we drove back to the property, still no one was there, but the room was unlocked with the key left on the counter and the lights and music turned on. We felt that we were to stay and thought we would get charged for the room one way or another. I must say it was very ackward. The decoration was nice, but the furniture wasn' t comfortable. The bed was soft and springy, but when we tried to sleep, we slid towards each other to the point my husband finally left bed and slept on the loveseat, so much for a romantic night. The private hot tub would not work and the indoor jaccuzi was dirty around the jets and didn't entice us at all. The rooms were highly fragranced as were the sheets. Some may like this, but I found it overwhelming. The freezer was completely frosted closed and the continental breakfast consisted of two Costco muffins, two orange juices, and two Costco yogurts that were over a week out of date. When we prepared to leave at 8:00 the next morning, we just wanted to move on, there still wasn't anyone. I needed to leave a phone message and a follow up e-mail to get a receipt, and still not a word about why no one was there. I would never recommend this to anyone.
