Manager was very Rude – I just went to Lobster Cove with my sister and my sister's friend after a long day of shopping in Kittery. My sister and my sister's friend were raving about the Lobster Roll because they said it was huge. On the menu as well said "HUGE lobster roll". Naturally, I thought It was bigger than a hot dog roll. So My sister, and her friend split the "HUGE" lobster roll, and I got one full one. When we got the rolls, they were tiny. Our waiter (who was a great waiter), put 2 rolls on the table. All of us thought it was one, but split it for us. So I asked to speak to the manager. My biggest complaint is the manager that spoke to me. He did not want to listen to me. I am 21 years old, so he probably thought I didn't know any better. But in fact, I'm a supervisor at a restaurant, so I do know what I'm taking about. I just wanted to complain that it was false advertising. He was arguing with me, and pretty much threatening me. He said, " this is a big roll, i bet you on this road this is the biggest roll",.and i said, "Just in Legal Seafoods it's..and cut me off. and pretty much saying that I'm wrong. Excuse me? I am a supervisor myself, and the customer is always right.
I never complain about anything usually, but the fact that my sister only went to this restaurant 4 months ago, and got the same thing.. and it WAS a huge lobster roll. I just wanted to suggest to the manager that they should prob. change what it says on the menu.. when it says "HUGE lobster roll", I was expecting a huge lobster roll. The manager didn't even let me speak or get my opinion out.. I was wrong in his mind, and he was SO rude, and he didn't care what I said. Like I said, I never usually complain. But I really wished I didn't ask for the manager because it ruined my experience more when I spoke with him. He talked down to me like I was nothing... a stupid girl pretty much. When in fact, I know what I'm talking about. That manager had the WORST sales skills, and people skills. I never expected a manager to be that rude in my life.
My waiter on the other hand, was very nice and sweet. Plus, took into consideration how annoyed I was, and after speaking to the manager, how pissed off I was. Plus, I felt bad how many tables he had that night. He still managed to make me happier when he was that busy.
Whoever hired that manager should be punished. I never been talked down to like that in a very long time. It made me feel 2 inches tall. If anyone realizes what manager i'm talking about, he should really be fired. OR should be at least trained on how to talk to people that are complaining, and only giving a opinion.
I am never going there again, which is unfortunate because my waiter was amazing.
