Inferior Product – Bought a tri color cartridge for my HP saved money. It worked one day and then the printer would not recognize it. returned it and was given another one as a replacement at no cost. it worked two days and did the same. I am tired of wasting my time driving back and returning/exchanging cartridges. Cheaper is that Cheaper does!.

Don't let the low prices lure you. – This was quite easily one of the worst customer service ordeals I have been through in recent memory.

On October 26, I ordered a combo set of 12 of their "Canon-compatible" inkjet cartridges. The web site listing specifically said they were compatible with my printer, the Canon MP980 (and, as of this writing, the listing still falsely makes that claim.)

When the set arrived on 10/31, I immediately noticed that on the outer packaging of each cartridge, only the black and gray inks (the 220-BK and 221-GY) listed the MP980 as one of the printers they were compatible with. These two did indeed work correctly in the printer.

However, the packages of the eight colored inks (the 221's in cyan, yellow, black, and magenta) did not list my printer as compatible. But, based on the Inksell claim, I tried one of the cyan cartridges in the MP980. Sure enough, the printer then showed an ink tank error and would not print.

I e-mailed customer service and Liz wrote back that they had issued me a "one time replacement" for the cyan cartridge. I replied that I was concerned that all the colored ones would not be compatible because they were specifically not marked as such. She did not reply.

The next day I decided to try the other 221 color cartridges. None of them worked in the printer. I e-mailed Liz again and told her this. I specifically told her about the packaging as well, and how the packages also indicated that they were not compatible with the MP980. I told her I wanted a refund unless she could assure me the replacements she was going to send would definitely work in the MP980. She replied that she was sure the replacements she was going to send would work in the MP980. They would not cross-ship; they insisted on receiving the non-compatible cartridges before they would ship replacements.

A full two weeks later (on 11/14), I received the replacement cartridges. Of course when I opened the package I immediately checked the outside markings of the ink boxes to see if the MP980 was listed on the new ones as a compatible printer. It was not. Ever the optimist, I tried them anyway. Of course, they did not work.

I e-mailed customer service again and told them how disappointed I was with this situation. Two days later, I got a reply from Liz again. She said "I have issued the correct cartridges." I took this to mean she had sent me yet another package, and waited several days. When I had received nothing, I e-mailed her again. She then said that they had shipped the replacements on 11/11, but she was referring to the first set of replacements (confused yet?) and had never sent another set, despite her confusing language. Here's an actual quote - no kidding - repetitions and all - from her subsequent e-mail:

"In response to your email, I would like to inform you that I did inform you that the cartridges are compatible with your printer. No further cartridges were shipped out because Inksell did send the correct cartridges for the MP980. In response to your email, I would like to inform you that I have issued the correct cartridges for the MP980."

Hmm, I see. So anyway, I e-mailed her a picture of the printer's error code to back up my assertion, and she told me they would "look into it." All along, she never acknowledged - nor seemed concerned by - the fact I mentioned several times: that the cartridges' own packaging did not indicate compatibility with my printer. Surely no coincidence, Liz.

She finally instructed me to send the whole lot back again, and said they would issue a refund when they received them. I sent them on 11/23. It is now early December - a full six weeks after I first ordered - and I still have no refund and no ink. I plan to purchase genuine Canon ink elsewhere.

I strongly recommend you avoid these people at all costs. As they say, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is. I learned a lesson here and hope reading this helps some of you avoid such a terrible experience.

Worst Customer Service – I do not even rate this company as one star. I have been trying for over a year to get off their mailing list. Phone calls, letters, emails to them have all been ignored. This is a glaring example of the poor customer service I have received from them. I no longer recommend them to anyone. All of the emails and letters to them are posted on my blog.

All it would take for them to make me happy is for them to remove me from their mailing list. As of today, they have not done so.
